came home today and found my pg tantrum 1200.1 all fixed and waiting at my door. this time i took my time hooking it up and making sure my posititives and negatives were right and once i did that my ears were treated to some of the best woofers i have heard. i could not believe how loud these are. i have the gain set at about 1/4 up and they are so loud. it feels like my jeep is reading to fall apart. the little overhead thing on my ceiling came falling down. only a true basshead can be proud of his car falling apart. thanks SI.

Has anyone heard them? If so how do they sound and what size enclosure were they in. How much power was running to them? I am wanting to see if I can run a pair in a 12 net cube box with an AQ 2200 on each. Also if anyone has any vids please post them I really want to see what they can do.

Ok, i just purchased an Autotek 750.1, and was told that it should put out just under 1K watts. Ive been trying to decide if i want to buy another Q for this amp so i can upgrade later on, or buy a SSD for now. This is kinda a budget build until i get enough cashflow to do what i truly want. (which is 2 15" Qs with BP ported) So my main question is, will the SSD and the Q sound basically the same off 1K watts, with the same enclosure, or will the SSD be louder since its taking a lot of power for it, vs the Q which is really just getting started. Also, what are the main advantages/disadvantages to both drivers? Ive owned a Q before and loved it, so im pretty set on…

Having never heard an Icon 10" in a sealed box I was wondering if it would be worth the money to upgrade the JL 10w3v3 that is currently in my JL stealth box? Box volume is .625 and is located under the center console in a 2006 toyota tundra double cab. I currently have a 500 watt RF powering it but I would upgrade the amp too if I did the switch. Basically I'm wondering if it would be significantly louder. I understand that a small sealed box isn't ideal for "loud" but it was nice keeping my back seat. Any opinions would be appreciated.

While working on my build yesterday a question came up that I couldn't answer. The question was "what's the visible difference between the DC subwoofer levels? I had no answer because I didn't know. Does anyone know the visible difference in these subs? Also how do you know what version of the coils the subs have visibly? To clarify this is not a question of handling power or sound, but simply put visible differences. Thanks guys.

I'm stuck on what 12" sub i wanna buy for my truck. This will be my first system. Im trying to decide between Skar VVX 12, Sundown SA 12, and the Gcon 12. Ive heard great reviews for all of these. But i just cant decide. They all sound GREAT. I guess the deciding factor will be how durable and reliable they are on top of what other peoples opinions are. Any advice would be great!

So i think the Icon may have run its course. Driving home a few weeks ago the sub just started making a weird noise. Every time the bass hits the sub kind of cuts out and makes a pretty harsh noise. So I finally had time to attempt to diagnose the problem. Took the sub out and inspected it and everything looked good though. No tinsels snapped, didnt appear to be a coil problem, and the sub moved in and out just fine(no coil rub). The sub looked practically brand new. Reinstalled the wiring and turned it back on and the problem still persists. Unfortunately, I didnt have a DMM to check the impedance on the coils so that will be next on the list. Anyone ever heard of a …

you should come out with some speakers for DIY people. like some 6.5 o 8 inch midbass drivers! ive heard lots of cars with nice systems, but getting your midbass to match the sound of your sub is really hard. and in my preference i think it sounds really nice when your sub sound matches the midbass cuase it sounds more fluent. i would def buy SI midbass stuff to match my sub, long as you dont bust out that 230 bucks per driver stuff that makes us all poor hehe. i dunno thats just been running through my head today

Don't post much here but I thought I would share my setup. I have my 2 SPL 12's in a 4th order bandpass in my Jeep Grand Cherokee. 1.3 cubes per sub on the rear chamber and the front chamber is 7.5 cubes tuned to 55 hz. I need to do some bracing or add a couple more layers but I couldn't wait to give it a listen. They are wired to .5 ohms on my American Bass XD1800 which does 2400 at .5 Since I'm not interested in sq, this setup is right up my ally. these things totally hammer and they aren't even close to getting RMS. They run out of steam around 30 hz (small sealed section) and the enclosure gives a huge peak at 40-50 hz. So far this is my favorite setup. They a…

Alright, I have a Chevy s10 extended cab, my friend has a Ford ranger ext cab with one audiobhan 15'', sealed box with 400 rockford watts going to it. Its acually a pretty chitty sub, but it gets the job done, right. So my question is, how can a put one 10'' in my truck to have a better "system" than his. I don't really need to be that much louder than him, but I want it to sound GOOD. really low and tight if possible from a 10. Im not gunna say a sq sub because I really don't know what that would mean. I have looked at the Fi Q10 with a Hifonics amp. Would this do it? Or could I go a little smaller with something like a Soundspliter or AA? The box would be custom built b…

I've recently been offered a 1993 towncar for a great deal. I was wondering if i could cram 2 soundsplinter 18's sealed in the trunk. I cant find the dimensions of the trunk, so anyone who has one should help me out! The car will be temporary because i will be buying an suv of some sort later.

Okay, currently working with 2 15" R's. Looking to upgrade, and am currently using a Saz 3KD and will be using the same amp. Now I'll run it at 1 ohm and still 2 15"s, my question is which will be more efficient the xl's or the lvl5? lol I kinda want the lvl5 to show off the HUGE motor, but not sure if i'll have enough power to push them. I can't say for sure but maybe 6 more months down the line I might get another saz amp. But for NOW which is better for the power i have? Will it dig deeper and sound better than the R's? Birthday's next month and want to treat myself to something real nice.
