  3. I received quotes from my OEM on the SPL-15 this evening: $330.00 each This includes shipping within North America. You will never see anything like this anywhere else for a driver of this caliber. And I challenge anyone out there to match it... This is a "one time" price for those who wish to jump on this deal. Trust me, *if* they become mainstream, they will not sell for anywhere near this price. Here are the caveats to this deal: - Pre-order payment is $250.00 per driver. The $80 balance is a flat rate shipping fee from me to you. If you wish to pay for it in full, you are welcome to do so. - If I do not receive adequate pre-order requests/payments, the deal is of…

i have a new project vehicle that already had some work put into it by previous owner and i am in need of new highs for it. it is a 97 civic 4-door. car came with jl tr 600 coax in the doors but they are pretty much shot. i havent payed much attention to car audio for the last couple years so i am pretty out of date with the latest equip. looking for something i can pretty much drop in without a ton of fab work (at least for the mids). looking to keep it between $100-150 but will go up to $200 if justifiable. need it to be well balanced musically. i listen to country, r&b, rock, hip-hop, talk radio......just depends on the mood i am in at the time. the equip i have …

  6. They seem great. I still can't believe Mark's prices. You would never guess that they're $36 speakers by looking at them. They even came with grills and hex screws. I'll be installing them tonight. I can't wait. You'll get a review on Monday. Since this is my first post, here's a little background: I'm 16, got into this stuff when I got my car at 14. I drive a Geo Tracker with a pair MAW12s, each in a PWK designed 4th order BP. The boxes are stacked in a wall sorta style. It's ridiculously loud even with the soft top. I have a PHD-10,000W/2 driving the MAWs which are wired to 4 ohms. My front-stage consists of a NINe.4 driving a/d/s tweeters and the MLIs wil…

Would anyone happen to know where I'd be able to get soft parts/recone kits for 3 Soundstream Exact10's? I've had these fantastic subs for a few year, blown, figuring one day I'll get to use them again. So I am looking for either soft parts that'll fit or someone that could recone them from me thats local (Toronto, Canada) Thanks in advance.

  10. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the Elemental Designs 15" SPv.2's. I'm unsure of what box to put it in. I have it slapped in an old box and it's about 3.05cf@32hz with 36sq inch slot. On icix I've heard anywhere between 3-6cf and anywhere between 22 and 40hz. The only specs I know is the RMS is 1200w and it has 28mm xmax. Think the FS is 26hz? It uses a TC9 motor and standard 12 spoke basket. I contacted ED and they told me they never released the T/S for the sub, and that's some BS! I'm looking for some LSQ, hit hard around 30hz and not sound out of beat on rock, but loud on rap. I was recommended 50-55sq inch port, but that seems as if it wo…

I've got factories in the rear doors now, powered by a couple channels on my Crossfire VR404 (just wired it in when I did my fronts, just in case I'd upgrade in the future. easier all at one time). But I love the midbass kick, and I want more. Would it be ok to get some good midbass drivers and put back there? How high in frequency does it need to go before it gets directional? maybe 60 up to 250 hz or so ok? I also need some suggestions, probably 6.5". something that isn't any deeper than my JL XR 6.5's in front, but I'll have to look up their dimensions. I'm also thinking about ditching the ported box that my SI D2 is in, maybe try sealed. But I hate giving up t…

I am looking to build a DIY 6.5 component set to set up in my car after I deaden the doors. I was thinking of using the Mli-65 mid but wasn't sure on the tweeter maybe these tang bands http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cf...tnumber=264-840 My real question was, regardless of components I pick, what is the best way to cross them over? I have a HPF option on the JVC HU at 55hz, 85hz, and 125hz, then my alpine amp has a HP/LP filter from 50-400hz.

I ended up getting a good deal on the Digital Designs component set today so I bought them. 6.5" Mids along with the tweeters, and all x-overs. My question being, does any here have experience with them...how do they perform...and what are your opinions on them? I'd like to get some other peoples opinions on them... I have a Soundstream 4 channel to push them....and my last question being...as long as I sound deaden the doors, will fitting them in the stock location be sufficient for great sound, or do I need to build pods for them....? Thanks for your help in advance..

I need a set of 5 1/4 speakers for my back doors. I have an 04 escalade in the front I was thinking kickpanels with Boston acoustic pro 60's and in the back I thought I should do some coaxials, but don't know what would be good, I have a sundown 100.4 powering them and money not more than 350 for the back speakers. give me some ideas.

Okay so I took some measurements today just to see how much space I have to work with. The idea is to keep my third row seats. That was the main reason why I brought a suburban instead of a tahoe. So far this is what I've came up with. *Note all measurements are external* Height: 23 3/8 inches or 28 1/2 inches if I go up to top of headrest Width: 49 inches Depth: 28 3/4 inches I went to 12volt.com to use their volume calculator and it came out to roughly 15 cft of internal volume space. I want to go ported with the 18's and I want to go both subs and ports facing up as apposed to subs up and ports to the rear. You guys think this is do-able with the measurements I've po…

I plan on getting a saz-1500D and running an extra battery. My only problem is I cant really decide what sub(s) I want to go with. I want a loud daily sub(s). I can make about a 6 cubic feet box. I can go with two 15s sealed, one 15 ported, two 12s ported, or possibly three 12s ported or sealed.. Some of the subs i have thought about are two RE audio SE 12's, two Fi SSDs 12s, One FI Bl 15, and I am open to any recomendations.

ok i need some help decideing between my next setup. i allready have a RE12.1 amp rated at 1200wrms at 1ohm but i've seen bench tests showing close to 1500wrms, i have a 99 grand am and would like to keep the box around 3.5cf net. now my options either 2 10's ported 1 12 ported or 2 12's sealed. in all honesty i would love 2 12 mags sealed but as nick informed me their only come in dvc2 which won't work with my amp, well they will work but i dont think their output will meet my needs. so now that leaves me looking. so far im looking into ssa icons, audioque 2.5, aa arsenal, and re se for dual sub setup and AA havoc, audioque hdc, nightshade, and re sx for single sub setup…

  21. I need some help deciding on which subs to get. Depending on the load I got two amps I know I want. One is the T20001bd (my first choice) or two Alpine PDX 1.1000 (But that's second on my list). My gold is running 2000 RMS for a pair of twelves. I need some experience to guide me, because I have no way to hear them for my self. So I ask, for your opinions. I have three I picked from some recommendations, and I would like to know which is the best, which one would last longer, hit harder, and be a better investment. Hey guys, Recently I asked you guys about building a ported box for my MAW12. Unfortunatly the box is still in the production stages but as a temporary solution I put it in a ~35L box I already have and wow! It sounds so nice and hits every note with a lot of definition. I was previously running a Phoenix Gold Xenon sub but I actually prefer the sound of the MAW so much more. The only real complaint is SPL wise I would like a little more out of the sub. I'm running it with a Zapco 500.1 which is conservativly rated at 500W into 2 Ohms (although the birthsheet indicates much more) so I don't think power is an issue and I can push the sub to its limits. I've always been a f…

  25. I am beginning to look a good component pair to put into my factory 5x7 location after I sound deaden in a couple weeks. First, Does anyone think I can fit 6.5 woofers into a Ford Focus 5x7 hole without much fabrication (meaning adapter plate or MDF ring). If I can't fit a 6.5, how much is lost by going to a 5.25 inch set? I am really lacking midbass now with the 5x7 type-r coax's that came with the car. Hoping that sound deadening and a decent set of components will fix that up. I will be powering the set with an Alpine MRP-F450 (70wrmsx4, or 200wrmsx2 bridged).
