Subwoofers / Speakers

i want to run my amp at 4 ohm bridge (because that is all it is capable of)... so if i were to get two 12 d2s mags would i need to get a new amp or would it be ok for me to wire the sub at 8 ohm and run it like that?

I am looking into replacing my front stage right now and was wanting some advise on which way to go. My budget is $500 for just the speakers in a 2-way setup. I drive a 4 door 99 Grand Am and have no speakers in the rear. My current front stage consists of the Focal 165KF running passive. The Focals sound good in the higher ranges but lacks greatly in the lower ranges. I am not looking at getting louder just more low end and detailed. I cross my sub around the 50-60hz range and would like to bring my front stage close to that range also. I am looking to better the staging in my car. I've been looking online for subs. Since the best buy near me doesn't have anything. Here are some of the ones I'm looking at sub 1 sub 2 subs 3 subs 4 I'm on a lowish budget, and I'm trying to get an enclosure & amp combo. I obviously want the best for the buy. What is the difference between these to series of amps? (i.e. XTA-12000D and the ASA-2000.1D,both 2000wRMS)

Hi guys, Im new to this forum so i hope i put this thread in the right place. I have 2 10" Kicker L7's in my truck that are getting power from a Hifonics Bx1605d in a sealed fiberglass box I started noticing the the one on the right is acting a little funny and buzzing a little bit. i took it out the other day and realized that it has a rip in the coil. Its on 04 model so it is decently old. I called Kicker and asked if they do repairs and they told me no but i could send it and $210 in and they will send me a 08 model... i can get the 08 models off ebay for far cheaper... my other one is fine but this one sounds horrible.... Looks like i'll be running all sundown amps in the near future. I'm looking for forum recommendations for a nice Loud sub that can produce nice lows off a single Sundown SAZ-1500d. Currently my top pick is an RE MX 15 im nt really interested in the Fi BL, but i did look at it as a possibility, and i looked at the TC 3000 but seems they are kinda wishy washy about having things in stock or not. Price is about 700 dollars to work with for a single 15

Hey I have a 400wrms x2 amp and I'm picking up a set of Diamond Audio D971 comps. This is a dumb question most likely but the constant rating is 200wrms and the max is 400wrms for the comps. If I throw them on my orion amp pushing 400 wrms into each channel with the gains set low do you guys think they could deal with it? I'd hate to buy another amp. I can run them off of 100wrms each but then I'm not feeding them enough power....its a catch 22. what would you do?

whats the scope on these subs? i hear that they sound like farts NO SQ what SOO ever. but i have SX15 and i was thinking of getting 2 L7 10's. but i also looking into 15's could someone tell me whats up with them?

OK, I just got rid of my last setup and looking to start new. I have $1000.00 to work with for subs and amp(s). I already have an upgraded electrical system (Stock Battery, Kinetik HC 2000, 230 amp HO alt. and the Big 3 done with 0 gauge). Now, am looking at 4 different subs and still up in the air on amps. I have 8 cb.ft to work b4 any displacement. So am thinking of running two 12" ported or 2 15" ported that doesn't need a lot of space to operate. Simple question...what is the best way to break them in? Any specific notes i should try...maybe a sweap? 30hz-100hz? Sumthing like that?

I haven't been on this forum in a while so just thought I would drop in. Can't wait to see the new BM series drivers come out. Also, I have been working on my install off and on lately, added new HO alt, Yellow Top, Big 3, etc.... and will be soon building a new home for my Mag 15 and amp rack. I am tempted to go ported but don't want to lose the sq that I love so much about the sealed mag. However, I am still being impressed more and more as I have had alot more time to play with my mag lately and this sucker still impresses the hell out of me and anyone that listens to it. I got 12" Jensen hooked up on a Lanzar Vibe276 and for some reason it is continuously popping. The sub pushes out like it's playing a 1 hz test or something. Someone told me it was clipping but I am not sure. Any Ideas. Thanks ~Thomas

Okay so today I showed up to my house with a free blown sub at my door and was wondering if there is a recone kit available for it. It is a Audiobahn 12" Eternal series (AWES12p) and I dont think audiobahn makes them anymore because they came out with a new immortal series. I don't know how to tell if the motor is still good but I assume it is due to the coil being the only thing that looked bad. So yeah, I would be needing the whole recone (coil, dustcap, cone/foam surround, spider, and so forth). Im almost possitive the coil is 2.5 inches in diameter (measured with measuring tape). I need some help deciding on which subs to get. Depending on the load I got two amps I know I want. One is the T20001bd (my first choice) or two Alpine PDX 1.1000 (But that's second on my list). Hey guys, I need a set of kickpods for the kick panels of a 3rd gen Formula. Its an 88. I want to fit a pair of 6.5" comps in the kicks. i need to know which sets to get.. im going to be running 8 10s in my car and i need to get down to a 1 ohm load. do i need 8 single 8 ohm subs or 8 single 4 ohm subs i was leaning torwards the 8 ohm singles but need some help

in a truck, i used to run 3 memphis pr 12's in a ported box around 40 htz. the subs were awesome, i loved them, but since i can't put all 3 in my new car's truck, i'm looking for a new pair of subs that will give the memphis' a run for their money. i've done some reading on the diamond audio d3's and liked what i've heard so far. a few people said they slammed, but mostly i've heard a lot of compliments on their sq. well it's all good w/ the sq and all, but i'm looking for something that'll straight up S L A M !! will these do the trick in a box ported around 35 htz? and if you have any suggestoins that's cool too... i'm buying off of e bay, so i'd like to keep it around…

Wow it's been such a long time since I was here.. Anyway, I had an account here called Pandy IIRC, but for some odd reason it seems to be gone.. Not a problem lol. I opened another Anyways, I bought an MJ 18 from Mark last October (right as my wife left me) and I have been adding stuff to the car since. Anyone know when we might see a revamp of the punch line? They been on the same run for years now . Would love to see them go back to the 90's style with the spruce paper cones loved that sound and look..would be amazing to see a O.G company get back to roots of the hobby. I'm honestly sick of all these new kids with the same ol cookie cutter everything.

I am new to audio so I am going to play dumb. Can I have boston acoustic 3 ohm speakers in the front and 4 ohm jl audio in the rear or is the ohm difference going to cause a problem.
