hello im new here my name is chad i have a sony xplod HU kicker 12 and an oldschool targa hexfet 500 watt amp in my 93 civic 4 door well when ever i turn my car on my sub starts thumping moving in and out about 2 or 3 inchs doesnt look too good but if i wait it will quite down and not move as much. now when i make any changes to my radio change tracks on my cd change radio stations any thing it will start doing it again untill music begins to play then it will stop. when i turn my car off it thumps too what could it be im so confused and when im listining to a cd and i turn the volume all the way donw it sounds like thunder in my trunk

I got myself a Diablo Audio HF8000.1. i cant decide whether to go 4 AQ copper coil 12s in a proper size box (8.5), or 2 Aluminum coil 18s in a little too small box (10.5). im not looking for numbers, just a daily beater. my goal is to get loud but retain some decent sound while listening to music. pretty much just sounding decent while listening to music but loud.

Soooo, after tons of researching and trying to figure out what I want to use in my boys truck....I think I have settled on getting 2 10" IXL's.....one question though, and I do apologize. I am very new to all of this and usually pay someone to just do all my stuff, but this time I will be building the box and such, which I can figure out. My question is power, at the moment I have a RF10001...1000 watts at 1 Ohm, will this be enough to push these subs or do I need something better/bigger? I would love to stay with just this for power reasons, but I will do what I have to obviously...may just have to get a bigger underhood battery and alt, which I am trying to avoid. The…

I'm thinking about trying to build a subwoofer with a Ti basket and a 3'' 400 oz motor but I don't know what would be the best voice coil for it

I am getting a Fi Q15 dual 2 running at 4ohms. I matched the sub with a Autotek 1900.1D mono block. I was wondering whether to go ported or sealed. I know ported is louder but it is hard for me to track down a enclosure online and I can't locate a local shop to make a custom one for me. Is it worth it to go ported or no? If so can you show me a great site that has good prices to get a box that would fit the q15. Also any comments on my set up would be greatly appreciated. FYI I am on a 650 budget. okay, that part I get, but does it have to be the SAME sub? make/model? I'm thinking of mixing RE SE 12 and JL 12w6v1's of all things. Each pair would be in their own ported enclosure, separate chamber, common box thing. Asking for trouble?

I wanted to get some input on components as I have had little luck with getting the goods. I have limited car audio dealerships near me and they all seem to deal about 6 manufacturers and not all that great. The best I hear around here tends to be the cheaper JL VR series. Thats not saying much I'm sure, so any suggestions for someone who cant ear them. I like them to be linear, meaning not bright in the highs and not flat in the mid bass region. And worst of all they have to be competent for my next attempt at an LSQ vehicle which will be most likely a trio of Fi SSD 15's powered by a SunDown Saz-3000D at 1.33 ohms ( I'm banking on 2250 - 2500 watts there.) I have 2 15" MTX thunder 4500's running at 4 ohms off a memphis 1000 watt d class. I was riding around town today when I noticed a remarkable difference in output.. I checked the subs when I got home, to see that one had NO output at all.. I took the sub out to look at it, and the voice coil seems to be "seperated" or torn away from the spider.. Is this the reason that the sub stopped working, and is it repairable? It's not a major concern, I only had these subs as a temporary fix until I order my 15" Fi BL. anybody have any experience with these woofers?i seen where a guy hit a 153 with 3 db drive 15s and 2400 watt am,and i know its all about install,im really wanting to do 4 15's, and around 4,000 watts,i know the db drive will hold around 1200+ and the ssd holds about 1,000,its going in a blazer behind the rear seats, im looking for something to do a 148-150 on music and something that moves alot of air

will the 2 BTL12's sound good on the saz 3000d or should i get a pair of something else?

I am getting a weird noise from my 12" BM, it sounds like the coil is rubbing or that its bottoming out. It is not on big time bass songs, only on like rock when a kick drum hits hard. I have it in a box I built to try and get it to 2cu ft and 34hz. I am using a Sundown Audio SAE-1000D to power it and have each voice coil hooked up to its own output on the amp. Any help is appreciated.

Did anyone ever compare the old Magnum vs the Rl-p ?? I doubt the D2 has been compared. Just wondering if a pair of d2 15s w/ a 20.1 will pound on my pair of rl-p on ~1500. Ported :-D.

So I haven't had a sub in almost 4 years, I've been running a factory stereo in my expedition (mach) for over a year and the factory 8 finally gave out. So now it's time to put a little something together. I have the expedition with 3rd row seating removed, so I have space for whatever I decide to do. I've been going back and forth between a sundown e12 for $80 or a SQ HDS200 15 for what SSA sells them, $115. I don't plan to compete, just get a little bass again. so while i was looking at how much RE componets would cost i found a site that offers RE speakers. 6x9" 6" 6.5". so my question is would the RE speakers keep up better with 4 15" ssds then the kappas would? would be using the zxi-6410 to power them. the kappas i was looking at would be the 6"x9" 3 way, 6-1/2" 3-way, 5-1/4" 2-way. i have been looking for a component set and i was considering going with something from cdt. I have never heard these with my own ears, but i have heard or read a few good things about them online a while back. I've heard a few subs make a funky sound when more power is applied to them that just doesn't sound like the bass the artist put in the song. On low volumes its fine. On higher volumes It sounds like the sub is puking. I hate that sound and i turn the bass down to when its gone. I've heard it mostly on punchy bass, long drawn out bass is usually fine. What causes this, is it when a sub exceeds its xmax or is that overrated in knowing what the sub sounds like as well? That's my only guess. I haven't heard lots of different subs but all the ones i heard did it.

OK, I was looking at the RE XXX's (newer version), and the Fi BL's. I listen to mostly metal but I do like everything else too. They're going into a Tahoe, so size isn't an issue. I'd like to do 2 12's. I'm looking to get as loud as possible but not sound like total azzz. Powering them would be 2 saz-1500d's or 2 saz-2000d's depending on sub selection. I'm not stuck to those two brands, any input in any direction would be great. Price also isn't much of an issue. Willing to spend as much as $2000 for the subs.
