Subwoofers / Speakers

A sneak peek of my new box . It is being built by Dave Marin of High Output Enclosures. It will be bed lined with a red port perhaps. It will have 5.0 cu ft net ,and is tuned @33 hz . I have two options for power . I can continue using two p1000x1's both have birth sheets of 1500 watt's , or I can use a synergy wfo 3500; but it'll have to be run at .5 ohm since I have dual 2ohm xcon 12's . Should sound great either way .

Since Mach5 is heading down my way soon (Australia), i'd love to get one or more of these in my car, a 95 Hyundai Excel (Accent for you North Americans). I see everyones using them for HT setups, but no-ones using them in their rides, only the MJ-18's. Can it be done, or do i have to use the MJ's? Got 8-ish cubes in the back, or almost 20 if i decide to wall it Cheers.

I currently have the new alpine type x components on my 90mazda b2200 installed on some custom kick panels i made and dont like how they sound. I just purchased 4 10s Savard Rap subs that i plan on installing them in the back space of the seats. So im looking for drivers that could keep up with subs but maybe little more vocal. Im not going for SPL or SQ, something in between. I was thinking of adding 2 5” drivers per door wired down to 4ohm and 2 tweeters per door “ or maybe gonna install in A/C vents” down to 4ohm as well. I just bought this sub cause its cheap. And i wanna know what it is now. lol. Google wont bring up any results for me. So I figured I'd post on here to see if you guys could help me. How many of you run SSA subs?

So as many of you know I have built several car systems, but I have never had the pleasure of using decent speakers for my front sound stage. So I am looking for suggestions. The vehicle is a 2003 Honda Element, Speaker locations as of this point will be factory. (6.5" door, tweeters in a-pillar). The car does have the integrated amps and sub, but I will be removing all of that eventually. The build will not take place for a while, I'm just starting to plan my build. I will be looking at running an active set up. I am also willing to take advice on amps. I currently have no equipment that I will be re-using. This will be a fresh build. After only a year of use on a Crescendo 1000c4 my SSA DCON 12 inch died. =( Repair dude is trying to charge me 100 for repair/recone and 35 for labor. Nearly the price of a brand new DCON. What do I do.

hello. i`m thinking about the box and not sure what size ports would be oki. i got everything from 6" to 14" tubes with nice flares to use.. there`s about 16cuft total for the box (-spacesaver..18cuft max) they say, but have to calculate myself.. i just got the car.. they say also bigger the better (on music) but i would say it gotta stop sometime.. anyone got 3 of these 15" thingys in a wall, or in a car at all...? could be fun to see what others have done.. the amps not found yet, but guess around 1,5 @12V on each..btw, is that enough to do music oki, and somtimes spl....? almost forgot, the car is a ford...: (random car/pic from web, but exactly the same car..) th…

I have a Original Kove Armageddon sub woofer 1050rms 22mm xmax 89db sensitivity. I have heard a car that can hit 144db and i knew right away mine was as loud, so I know my sub is roughly 140db. I want The best SQ sub that can achieve this within the 1000-1600rms range, and I would like it to be the best SQ possible for under $400. It would be nice to have a flat response down to 30hz and I would like it to some extent be able to hit down to 18hz. My enclosure size is limited to a maximum of 4.0 cubic feet. Thanks

I ordered two dual two fi ssd subs. I built my whole system around the subs. I built the box to spec, upgraded all my electrical, ordered a sundown 2500 for them. It's took awhile to get it all built and I'm still waiting on the amp. Adw the problem I have is when I boxed the subs I noticed that they had no movement. I just thought they were reply stiff. Got everything installed just waiting on amp, but wanted to see how they sounded. I hooked them up in series and put them on a 1000d just to here them. Their was no movement and just produced little sound. Within just a few seconds in there started to be a burning smell. Needless to say I unhooked immediately and removed …

Hey guys i just started looking at DC today and i rele like what i see about them so far. I just wanna know how they compare with the BTLs? It would be (4) 18s walled with (4) saz-3500 on them in a 03 Yukon Denali. I want it for a daily ground pounder... Witch one will be better for what i want to do? Thanks Shane

Yep, the first ever production driver came in today. A second driver should come shortly...which the pair of them are being rush-shipped to a competitor that is going to be putting up some serious numbers with them. The rest of the drivers are going to be glorious, as the one driver I have here is absolutely beautiful. If you guys want pics of it, just let me know.

what does that mean? and how do i fix it?

I am Thinking about reverse mounting 2 FI BL 12's and was looking at some researcha bout wiring and reverse polarity and what not. When i mount them in reverse should i reverse the polarity aswell? ???

So I am a noob here but have done my best to gather all the facts for others to help me with my predicament. I recently pulled out my Boston Acoustics SPZ60's to install that I bought from my bro and found that one of the tweets and coaxial mounts were missing. We both looked around to no avail and now I'm left with buying new tweets and making a component style setup instead of the coax setup I wanted. I have access to Clio sound testing equipment and tested the mid. It operates between 100-2k hz. This leaves me believing I need a tweet that will get at least close to 2k or I will have a big hole in my front stage. My vital info: Tweets will be run off of channels 1+2 …

So I have been in desire of adding more midbass to my set up. Currently I am using the Sundown CS6.5 set up from only. I feel that i am going to damage the 6.5 that came with this set if I do not pursue an alternative to help cover this midbass I am desireing. I will be sealing up a fiberglass enclosure on my doors. Well it looks like the SI 15" is going to have some competition from the 16" OV2 as it finally came out. I guess we'll see which is supreme. Some of the comments from mags for the ED line: "the embodiment of what a great subwoofer should be" "the real deal" "defines how low frequency should be reproduced"

I currently have a pair of ID12d2v3 subs in a Subzone ported box, 4 cubes, tuned to 30Hz with subs/port firing back and powered by an AQ1200D wired to 2 ohms (870 watts rms). This setup surprised me a few ways 1. The subs are rated at 250 rms, i'm giving them almost double that 2. Subs don't get stinky, never have 3. Never expected the output im getting from this setup, it hits way deeper and gets way louder than I expected it would. I do have some complaints though 1. The box is way too big, IMO. 2. does anybody have any experience with the RF pro audios? i'm thinking about getting the 6.5's and 8's to put in the Hummer. anybody have any better ideas for pro audio mids? i've been back and forth with a few different companys, but i think for the price these look pretty decent.

im looking to buy an amp (preferably under 400) thats gonna push two 2 ohm l7s, each wired down to 1 0hm. whats my best investment? need wisdom....
