Subwoofers / Speakers

We're entertaining the idea of releasing an 8" speaker. The speaker will be able to play up to 300 Hz minimum (probably higher), F3's in the mid 40's out of car (even lower in car), and vented around 27 Hz. The driver will feature a low inductance coil, very light moving mass, a stamped basket, and a competitive price. Xmax estimates are around 11 mm one-way. The 8's will be monsters in the car audio environment, sealed or ported. ~0.5 cubes sealed or 1.2 cubes ported tuned to 30 Hz. What do you think?

Anyone ever heard of them? or heard them? they LOOK beastly, but cost about $44+sh are they chitty? thanks for replies. if i get enough for my birthday (monday, yay ) i am buying three I will have them in a half-hex box, sealed with about 600rms. box is 3.40cuft, one open chamber with a brace in the middle.

So I have been in desire of adding more midbass to my set up. Currently I am using the Sundown CS6.5 set up from only. I feel that i am going to damage the 6.5 that came with this set if I do not pursue an alternative to help cover this midbass I am desireing. I will be sealing up a fiberglass enclosure on my doors. Got my SA-12 back in October and finally getting around to a box build. Fired up Torres. Single SA-12 on a SQ 750w. Look good to go? Or any thing I need to change? =Going in Volvo V50 wagon, sub/port firing towards hatch.

I currently have a pair of ID12d2v3 subs in a Subzone ported box, 4 cubes, tuned to 30Hz with subs/port firing back and powered by an AQ1200D wired to 2 ohms (870 watts rms). This setup surprised me a few ways 1. The subs are rated at 250 rms, i'm giving them almost double that 2. Subs don't get stinky, never have 3. Never expected the output im getting from this setup, it hits way deeper and gets way louder than I expected it would. I do have some complaints though 1. The box is way too big, IMO. 2. does anybody have any experience with the RF pro audios? i'm thinking about getting the 6.5's and 8's to put in the Hummer. anybody have any better ideas for pro audio mids? i've been back and forth with a few different companys, but i think for the price these look pretty decent.

ok so since im pretty much upgrading my whole system i wanted to throw some subs in the mix and see what you guys think.....ok ill try and remember all these,...Rl-p,type-r,asenal or maybe even havoc,RE SE,massive audio (ANY),DD,audioque.....ummm cant really remember anymore right now but i thougt there were a couple more.Now im mainly looking for SPL here cause i think i wanna go into a couple of local comps that are held around here,but at the same time i dont want them to pound and sound like wet sloppy poop doing it.

Hi everyone, I've been doing some shopping lately looking for a new sub and wanted to get some advice. Heres a few things specifically I'm kinda basing my next purchase upon. 1. Budget- $450 (approx) 2. single subwoofer setup only 3. minimum 1500w RMS 4. Best SQ possible at the same time id love something that can hit pretty damn hard (140 decibels if possible) 5. This is the beginning of a test build. It probably would have progressed further if the belt on my table saw wouldn't have taken a big dump on me. I will have to go to Springfield (hopefully tomorrow) and get one...soon. I still need to resin the curves, etc. It's a long way from being done. I was hoping to have it done by tomorrow afternoon, for a special guest. Oh well, in the meantime you can poke fun at my table-saw-frustration-creation. My take on the "Super Subs" from mostly first hand experince. RE XXX - Loudest LSQ sub when given the power is needs, Very good SQ. If you can fit a larger box over 3.5 cubes and can give it 2k watts its the best bet. If you have about 1k watts or less I would go with the brahma which will get just as loud and sound a tad better. Under $400 shipped which is a good value. Largest of the bunch also, takes a stong person to lift a 15 lol. Adire Brahma - Best SQ/LSQ of the 3. With 1k watts its just as loud as a XXX. Been out of audio for a few years now so Im going to need to get some advice on brands/models... I am looking at replacing and amping up my audio in a '06 BMW 3 series. Stock is 4" in doors, 1" tweets in upper doors. 8" sub under each seat. I want to get a Fosgate 360.1/2 and add in my 12" SI mag, but I can also skip the extra weight of the mag and just replace the stock 8" subs under each seat. This is some of the speakers to have been found to work on these cars...Are there anything better?

But anyways the sub easily can take 200rms from my mtx amp but when I wired it to two ohms so I can get 400rns thats when things got bad. Alright guys, this is going to be my first system. I need some input on what sub to get. I have an amp that my friend said is low budget but is decent. The audiopipe 1500 watt. Now I'm new and don't know a whole lot about systems and stuff so please bare with me I want the kind of loud that makes your nose and throat itch lol. I'm sure most of you know what I'm talking about. Now I just need some advice on what to get. Thanks guys

hi all I'm buying a single 12" re audio xxx new style. I could get my hands on the old style 18 but don't think I'll have the space so I'm gonna go with the 12. I need to figure out what to do about a box for it. any ideas on tuning or size? I'd like to tune it low I like screwed and chopped due to all the low notes in it. like the 20-30 hz range is where most of my bass hits. hence why I'm going with a xxx now instead of my soft Parts aa assassin 8's . I've got around 30 in wide by 17 in tall by hopefully 20 or under deep. any help would be greatly appreciated. output isn't the biggest concern but would be nice. the low tuning and sq is the most important part.

Since Mach5 is heading down my way soon (Australia), i'd love to get one or more of these in my car, a 95 Hyundai Excel (Accent for you North Americans). I see everyones using them for HT setups, but no-ones using them in their rides, only the MJ-18's. Can it be done, or do i have to use the MJ's? Got 8-ish cubes in the back, or almost 20 if i decide to wall it Cheers.

me and my cuz made 2 boxes...1 is ported and its ABOUT 3 cubic ft^3 tuned to 32 Hz...i say "about" cause minus the wood thickness, port displacement, and the subs volume its around 3. i dont have the exact measurements of the port right now the other one was sealed at 1.6 ft^3 my problem with it is its LOUD when you sit in the car but not when you're outside with both of these boxes. i didn't try it in my car yet cause i dont got wires hooked up yet but i tried it in my cousins 1995 ford taurus and we weren't happy about it and he didn't know why it wouldnt hit hard. he has a old garbage pioneer HU in his car but it should of still hit harder than it did. i mean when i he…
