I ordered two dual two fi ssd subs. I built my whole system around the subs. I built the box to spec, upgraded all my electrical, ordered a sundown 2500 for them. It's took awhile to get it all built and I'm still waiting on the amp. Adw the problem I have is when I boxed the subs I noticed that they had no movement. I just thought they were reply stiff. Got everything installed just waiting on amp, but wanted to see how they sounded. I hooked them up in series and put them on a 1000d just to here them. Their was no movement and just produced little sound. Within just a few seconds in there started to be a burning smell. Needless to say I unhooked immediately and removed …

im looking to buy an amp (preferably under 400) thats gonna push two 2 ohm l7s, each wired down to 1 0hm. whats my best investment? need wisdom....

It's been ripped before but previous owner "fixed" it. He used sillicone I believe? But anyways the sub easily can take 200rms from my mtx amp but when I wired it to two ohms so I can get 400rns thats when things got bad. Volume on headunit was at 28, everything 0 on headunit, gains on amp half way up. My take on the "Super Subs" from mostly first hand experince. RE XXX - Loudest LSQ sub when given the power is needs, Very good SQ. If you can fit a larger box over 3.5 cubes and can give it 2k watts its the best bet. If you have about 1k watts or less I would go with the brahma which will get just as loud and sound a tad better. Under $400 shipped which is a good value. Largest of the bunch also, takes a stong person to lift a 15 lol. Adire Brahma - Best SQ/LSQ of the 3. With 1k watts its just as loud as a XXX. So as many of you know I have built several car systems, but I have never had the pleasure of using decent speakers for my front sound stage. So I am looking for suggestions. The vehicle is a 2003 Honda Element, Speaker locations as of this point will be factory. (6.5" door, tweeters in a-pillar). The car does have the integrated amps and sub, but I will be removing all of that eventually. The build will not take place for a while, I'm just starting to plan my build. hi all I'm buying a single 12" re audio xxx new style. I could get my hands on the old style 18 but don't think I'll have the space so I'm gonna go with the 12. I need to figure out what to do about a box for it. any ideas on tuning or size? I'd like to tune it low I like screwed and chopped due to all the low notes in it. like the 20-30 hz range is where most of my bass hits. hence why I'm going with a xxx now instead of my soft Parts aa assassin 8's . I've got around 30 in wide by 17 in tall by hopefully 20 or under deep. any help would be greatly appreciated. output isn't the biggest concern but would be nice. the low tuning and sq is the most important part.

After only a year of use on a Crescendo 1000c4 my SSA DCON 12 inch died. =( Repair dude is trying to charge me 100 for repair/recone and 35 for labor. Nearly the price of a brand new DCON. What do I do.

Ive been lookin at some 6.5 inch subs mainly the jl 6w3 and was wanting to put them in my rear doors of my 2010 lancer DE. I know a decent amount about car audio other than this subject. i need some help on a good way to set up this application. Thank you.

I've got a few minutes of down time and decided to upload a few photos I have of cars (and a boat) that have our subs in use. I need to get pictures of the rest of the emailed to me, but I thought you guys might enjoy seeing a few photos. First up is a car that belongs to a guy named Kyle. He seems to be pretty happy. He has some kind of amp that I've never heard of, XXX or something like that. It's basically pushing no power to it. When he upgrades we'll try to get some meter results on it. It sounds good, but it's got a lot of room to improve with more power going to it.

We're entertaining the idea of releasing an 8" speaker. The speaker will be able to play up to 300 Hz minimum (probably higher), F3's in the mid 40's out of car (even lower in car), and vented around 27 Hz. The driver will feature a low inductance coil, very light moving mass, a stamped basket, and a competitive price. Xmax estimates are around 11 mm one-way. The 8's will be monsters in the car audio environment, sealed or ported. ~0.5 cubes sealed or 1.2 cubes ported tuned to 30 Hz. What do you think?

Alright guys, this is going to be my first system. I need some input on what sub to get. I have an amp that my friend said is low budget but is decent. The audiopipe 1500 watt. Now I'm new and don't know a whole lot about systems and stuff so please bare with me I want the kind of loud that makes your nose and throat itch lol. My cousin just got these in a trade for his box that I built for his 2 cvx 15's. We hooked them up free-air and they sound find but we won't know for sure until we put them in an enclosure. I've seen them sale for $300+ on other forums. Anybody have any idea on how much they are worth? Guy wants him to add cash and we're just trying to see what's a fair asking price for these. So I have been in desire of adding more midbass to my set up. Currently I am using the Sundown CS6.5 set up from only. I feel that i am going to damage the 6.5 that came with this set if I do not pursue an alternative to help cover this midbass I am desireing. I will be sealing up a fiberglass enclosure on my doors. me and my cuz made 2 boxes...1 is ported and its ABOUT 3 cubic ft^3 tuned to 32 Hz...i say "about" cause minus the wood thickness, port displacement, and the subs volume its around 3. i dont have the exact measurements of the port right now the other one was sealed at 1.6 ft^3 my problem with it is its LOUD when you sit in the car but not when you're outside with both of these boxes. i didn't try it in my car yet cause i dont got wires hooked up yet but i tried it in my cousins 1995 ford taurus and we weren't happy about it and he didn't know why it wouldnt hit hard. he has a old garbage pioneer HU in his car but it should of still hit harder than it did. i mean when i he…

Now ill be the first to admit that I really don't know a ton about a good proper speaker setup upfront.. Iv mainly focused my attention on subwoofers for the first few years of my car audio journey as I'm sure most of us do. I'm really looking to up my game as far as my front stage goes. I'm kind of leaning towards making my own 2-way or 3-way setup. Depending on whether decide to go with a 2 or 3 way setup, I really wanted to try a soft dome tweeter along with a midrange speaker (if 3 way is the best option) mounted in the A-pillars. Since Mach5 is heading down my way soon (Australia), i'd love to get one or more of these in my car, a 95 Hyundai Excel (Accent for you North Americans). I see everyones using them for HT setups, but no-ones using them in their rides, only the MJ-18's. Can it be done, or do i have to use the MJ's? Got 8-ish cubes in the back, or almost 20 if i decide to wall it Cheers.

i have 2 gcon 12s and my box is 4.6 @32hz net after all dis. i have 70sq in of port i have this thread going at ca.com but i cant really get anyone that has xp with these subs someone was saying it will be peaky? but it is built to specs... im just wanting some input... and hi all 1st post
