hey guys. Trying to find a new set-up here (sub set-up) and am looking around at my sub options! Currently I am running an 18" BL in a 5.5ish box @ 35Hz I think. It is pretty dang loud...but I am starting to go away from SPL based to subs that are able to reproduce the sounds a bit better. I have recently acquired a pair of Adire Koda 6.5 components and am hoping to blend things. The BL would pretty much destroy any midbass that would be output with them and I really wanna do a proper(ish..bear with me guys haha) set-up of an actual "sub" crossed over at 60Hz or so and then hear some real midbass. Here were the subs that I was looking between. Currently I have a JBL amp …

Using sealed boxes. Would a single FiQ18 in 7 cubes or (2) FiQ15's in 2.6 cubes each hit the deepest?

I have a Toyota Tundra Regular cab with a sealed 12" Kicker 06TCVT122 400RMS at 2ohms powered by a Kicker ZX400.1 and was looking upgrading to a 15" AA Havoc in a 3.5cuft ported box @ 30hz with either a Sundown Audio 1500D or 1000D. Heres some pics of my available space LxW 60"x18" However, do to my limited space I don't think thats possible so I was also thinking of getting the 15 in a sealed box or two 12 sealed, what do you guys think?

I'm thinking of just scratching my previous posts and might go for a single 15 ported. I want a loud setup with good SQ. You all probably know what amp I have by now (JBL GTO 1201.1 II puts out 1100 watts at 2 ohms). I'm having a b!tch of a time picking a 15 being there are soo many good ones. So far I want a 15 that'll sound good, get loud and drop low in 3 cubes ported. So far these are what I'm trying to decide between. I know all probably sound good but which would get louder? Also what should I tune to? I plan on placing an order for one of these this weekend. 1 SSA Icon 15 1 SS RL-p 15 1 Fi Q15

OK, I am going to get a little more specific. I have an F150 crew cab, that right now I have 2 cheap planet audio 10"s under the rear seat. I am looking for a set of subs to replace these that will get louder. the mounting depth is 4 3/4 inches, max. And will play in an enclosure of .5 cu ft. Or has anyone used the single 10 in a ported enclosure under the seat? Or does anyone have any other ideas for a crew cab f150 that is still a family truck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The two subs that I am looking at so far that will fit are the JL 10w1v2 or the Kicker comp10.

As many of you guys know I enjoy testing out new mids in my truck. So far...CDT CL-6, infinity kappa 6.1, kappa perfect 6.1, CDT HD-6, BA pro 6.5, and others not worth mentioning. So now I think its time to test out another pair. I have a limited budget this month so <$300 for the pair of mids. Here are a few of my ideas, if you have suggestions please feel free to make them. Depth isnt a factor, but you must remember they need to be able to play well IB. I have ~75x2@8ohm, ~150x2@4ohm, and ~250-300x2@2ohm. RE XXX 6.5 (2ohm) Adire Extremis (8ohm) Morel HU631 (8ohm) Vifa M18WN19 (4ohm) Dynaudio MW160 (4ohm) Dynaudio MW160GT (4ohm) Dynaudio MW170 (4ohm)

So have any SSA members played with this new sub? From the reviews I have read so far, its on par with a W7 output wise... but with great SQ. how would it compare with say a 15" Fi Q/bl or SS RL-P? If its comparing to the W7, then my first guess would be not at all(SQ, or SPL)...right? I have not heard any of these subs in person so its hard to make a decision....for the new build. leaning towards rlp's at the moment...

I am looking for 2 LSQ subwoofers... Amplifier power: 2x strapped SAZ-1500D Minimum ohmage would be somewhere around 2 ohms. So the subwoofers will get approx. 1500W RMS each. I will be running them sealed, I do not like the ported sound. I used to own 2 RE XXX subwoofers (the first generation) and I really loved them. Unfortunately I had to sell them. But now I am back and want something similar in return. So can anyone give me good advice? [edit typos] Cannot edit my typos... I meant of course: S Q L subwoofers...

Hello all. I wanted to start this thread out of pure curiosity. I have been in the audio industry as an enthusiest and a proffessional for about a decade. In that time I have played around with lots of different brands of subs. It seems in recent years manufacturers have been developing what they market as "superwoofers". The subs are getting huge and the prices sure have followed suit. In my quest for more knowledge I have found my way here to the SSA forum. It seems that there are a lot of not-so-mainstream subs that are quite popular. My first experience with a high-output sub that wasn't available in every stereo shop across the nation was an Audiomobile Mass2012. Aft…

Hello all, I'm looking to upgrade on some equipment on my 04' Jeep Grand. I've been out of the scene for a few years and need some advice on equipment. Here is my set up so far: -Alpine head unit -Front stage: Dynaudio 7" seperates, powered by PPI pc275 @ 4ohm (100w) -Rear fill: Infinity Kappa 6.5" coaxils, powered by head unit -Subwoofer: 10" Audimobile EVO vented ~40 hertz, powered by PPI pc275 @ 4ohm mono (300w) -much sound dampening Goals: Keeping the Dyn's are a must as well as the head unit. I would like to use 2-10" subs or possibly a single 12 in a smaller vented enclosure-2-2.25 cubes (space is an issue). I listen to metal and would like opinions on tuning feq…
