Ok, i just purchased an Autotek 750.1, and was told that it should put out just under 1K watts. Ive been trying to decide if i want to buy another Q for this amp so i can upgrade later on, or buy a SSD for now. This is kinda a budget build until i get enough cashflow to do what i truly want. (which is 2 15" Qs with BP ported) So my main question is, will the SSD and the Q sound basically the same off 1K watts, with the same enclosure, or will the SSD be louder since its taking a lot of power for it, vs the Q which is really just getting started. Also, what are the main advantages/disadvantages to both drivers? Ive owned a Q before and loved it, so im pretty set on…

I just made a ported box, and the recessed terminal cup i bought at my local shop looks pretty hard to install - the back of it is a rounded rectange. is it ok to just drill a small hole for my speaker wire in the back of the box and fill it with silicon caulk? im worried this will just make it leak terribly...

I just purchased an IA audio 18 15" but last night i was looking on craigslist and i saw a 15" memphis mojo for sale $75. I was wondering if these subs were really that great and if anyone knew how much the retailed for. I looked on memphis's site but the find a dealer link wouldnt work.

Hey everyone, I just wanted to get some opinions on these speakers for my fronts (6 1/2") and rears (5 1/4"). http://www.ebay.com/itm/HITRON-5-25-5-1-4-SPEAKERS-4-WAY-PAIR-300W-HS-5254-CHEAPER-THEN-KENWOOD-ALPINE-/120972470424?pt=Car_Speakers&hash=item1c2a856898 Now before anyone says anything about the "max" power RMS rating, I'm not looking for that. I'm just looking to replace factory speakers without any hook ups to amplifiers or anything of the sort. The reason being is that the ones that I have now with the factory radio already play distorted, and I'm almost 99% sure that when I install a new HU in that they will pop. If anyone has any other suggestions or spea…

So I bought a sundown x-15 based off the rms and it being a sundown sub. I had a sa-15 and loved it, it hit all the notes I wanted and put in work. I had it powered by a kicker ix1000.1 in a 3.5 ish box tuned to 35hz. Now I just swapped the subs in the same box so I'm not too sure what the box is tuned to with the x-15 it hits low notes really nice, but most of the music I listen to doesn't have low low notes. My question is should I keep the x build a box for the x. And get a 8 or 10" for midbass, maybe that will fill the gap. Or sell the x a d get maybe a fi bl or ssa xcon, right now they will be powered by a alpine m240 later upgrading to sundown saz 3500 for a pai…

pretty easy question here but what to know what people think. Want SQ all the way but occassionally to make peoples jaws drop even more want to crank it. One Mag 12 ported(2.2cu ft) or two Mag 12 sealed(1.45cu ft)? Power would be for now 500RMS a piece and later it would be 1200RMS per sub. Just need time to save for another amp. And it would be the new Magnum.

A dual 10" SI BM set up in a sealed box would be easily comparable if not better in SQ than two w6's, correct? I'm considering my next setup, even though i just got my SSD's in. haah never happy, althought currently, im extremely happy with the Fi's but ya gotta switch things up.

you guys may disagree with the drivers i chose, but this is what im going with. im selling the boston pro60s, and my jbl 6x9s in the rear, so ill only be adding maybe 70 bux to switch out to this setup, which is now going to be active as well. Front Stage: 2x B&C 6PEV13's Rear Stage: 2x Selenium 6W4P's (OR 2x Selenium 8PW3-SLF's) not sure yet, if the 8s will fit, i might run those. if not, ill do the 6.5s amp for the front and rear Mids: RF Punch P550.2 (ch1 will be the front and rear Left mids, and channel 2 will be front and rear right mids) same with the tweets, except a RF Punch P200.2 amps are like 240 shipped on ebay new for both, not bad. i need tweets though.…

Hi. I am building a box for 4 of the MJ-18's. They will be used for home theater and music. So I think im going with 4.5 cubic feet each and tuned to 30hz. Should each subwoofer have its own chamber or should they all be together. If they are together how many ports should I use and what dimensions should they be. Thanks alot!

im running two idq12"s svc 2ohm sealed(1.8 cubic) powered by one xtant 1000/1. the subs are very responsive but tend to lack low end. i listen to mainly metal-tool,korn,slayer. some of their stuff has low thump that my subs are not picking up. these subs are in the back of S-10 ext. cab-the box sealed has the subs facing up toward the roof. i dont have room to run booth subs ported-any other types of box designs or eq settings i should consider? polyfill? i used to run 2 10" mtx 8000 in a downfire box for that truck and i got more lowend and louder bass from that set-up than my current system

Sorry if this is the wrong forum, But I don't wanna screw up my subs. There may be a simple solution to this. I might just be making it harder than it really is. On my old Kicker 1200.1 amp, there was a set of RCA signal outputs. I ran these to my amp for the door speakers. Well I don't have this on my IA 20.1 Any suggestions? Or it as simple as running a couple sets of RCA splitters? Another question: I want to run 2 subs off this amp. My subs are dual 2 ohm SI Mag 12s. I know how to wire the sub coils (parallel) But do I run them to 1 connection at the amp or 2?

Don't post much here but I thought I would share my setup. I have my 2 SPL 12's in a 4th order bandpass in my Jeep Grand Cherokee. 1.3 cubes per sub on the rear chamber and the front chamber is 7.5 cubes tuned to 55 hz. I need to do some bracing or add a couple more layers but I couldn't wait to give it a listen. They are wired to .5 ohms on my American Bass XD1800 which does 2400 at .5 Since I'm not interested in sq, this setup is right up my ally. these things totally hammer and they aren't even close to getting RMS. They run out of steam around 30 hz (small sealed section) and the enclosure gives a huge peak at 40-50 hz. So far this is my favorite setup. They a…

I am currently in the middle of my box build. I will post the full build later. The box is 16" wide x 28" tall x 25" deep. The sub and port are up. It will live in between the back seats in a 2008 Tundra. Powered by a 3000.1 Taramps. I have two baffles and a "beauty" panel cut. My question is do I need to use the double baffle if I properly glue the "beauty" panel to the baffle or can I go with a single baffle the "beauty" panel? Just wondering If I can save a little bit of height and still be safe and solid enough. Thanks for the help. Here is my box design.
