I have these 2 subs in a 2 cube sealed box. My amp is a JBL 1200.1 I'd like to keep this box as it uses my trunk space very well. Before these subs, I had an 12" Brahma in a 2 cubic foot vented box that aboslutely slaughter. Sadly it was stolen and by then Adire was long gone. Keeping my current sub and box, what pair of 12's would you all recommend? $250 each would be a reasonable max. Less is even better.

I have purchased a Mag D2 15 and am trying to find the specs on it so I can build a box for it while I wait on Fedex. I'm sure it's been posted a million times somewhere and I apologize if it has. I am finding a ton of info on the new Mags though Can anyone point me in the right direction or hook me up with some specs please? Need to know what size ported box they like, Cutout diameter, Mounting Depth, and anything else that would be useful to me. If I can't find info I was just gonna do 4 cubes at 33hz. Thats a pretty standard number for a 15. Someone help me out please. Wayne This is the model I have coming. Thanks again! I can't wait to have it tearing my new truck up…

I currently have 3 JL 10w0's in a sealed box running of a infinity amp that puts out 600rms at 2 ohm. I want a louder system but i dont' have enough money to buy a new amp and the JL's just arent cuttin it. I was thinking about getting a mach 5 mj 18 and putting it in a ported box. Does anyone know this set up will work good with my current amp and be louder than the JL's?

my over all budget has been raised to the area of $600-700 this is mostly so I can afford to build a box. Still want two 18's and due to my research, I am looking for about 8.5cubes@26Hz because singaboy311's box is a kewl design. Again thanks for the help so far! I am looking forward to building this beast, just so excited ( parents aren't LOL) but hey, if its too loud, you're too old!

I'm thinking of just scratching my previous posts and might go for a single 15 ported. I want a loud setup with good SQ. You all probably know what amp I have by now (JBL GTO 1201.1 II puts out 1100 watts at 2 ohms). I'm having a b!tch of a time picking a 15 being there are soo many good ones. So far I want a 15 that'll sound good, get loud and drop low in 3 cubes ported. So far these are what I'm trying to decide between. I know all probably sound good but which would get louder? Also what should I tune to? I plan on placing an order for one of these this weekend. 1 SSA Icon 15 1 SS RL-p 15 1 Fi Q15

Hello all. I wanted to start this thread out of pure curiosity. I have been in the audio industry as an enthusiest and a proffessional for about a decade. In that time I have played around with lots of different brands of subs. It seems in recent years manufacturers have been developing what they market as "superwoofers". The subs are getting huge and the prices sure have followed suit. In my quest for more knowledge I have found my way here to the SSA forum. It seems that there are a lot of not-so-mainstream subs that are quite popular. My first experience with a high-output sub that wasn't available in every stereo shop across the nation was an Audiomobile Mass2012. Aft…

I have a pair of Orion HP12s sealed in 1.2 cubes per chamber powered by a JBL 1201.1 II amp that puts out 1100 watts at 2ohms and one of my Orions tore the surround recently and I'm trying to decide whether to get a replacement HP12 or upgrade. The Orions hit hard and clean. However I may upgrade if I could find an efficient pair of subs that could get louder and sound clean. The poll options are what I'm trying to decide between.

Looking for 2 12 inch subs that go loud and low for about $250-$300 a piece. I currently have 2 mtx 7500 12s and a mtx 1501d amp. The birthsheet that comes with the amp claims 1863 watts at 2 ohms. I have looked at kicker L7s but then i found this website. Any help would be great, thanks

Long story short i ended up wiring my Sundown 1000 watt amp positive positive(instead of negative) to my fi q postive negative wires. Sub only sounds good on lows(like 40 and below) anything else and it just sounds like garbage. My question is since this counts as user damage is it worth getting it repaired by the sundown and fi? or if you guys have any suggestions on anything.......because im guessing either of the 2 can be damaged. PS the thing that sucks the hardest about all this is i just purchased and installed my rainbow 265's and now that it was finally complete other than dynamat HALP

I need help picking a pair of 12s for sealed operation. It'll be power by a JBL 1201.1 II amp that puts out 1100 watts at 2 ohms. I want a pair of 12s that'll hit hard and sound good sealed with about 500 watts to each. I had a pair of Orion HP 12s and liked them alot but I blew one and I'm looking to upgrade. So far I like the look of and am thinking of a pair of Audiopulse Epic 12s in dual 2 ohms or Fi SSD 12s depending on how efficient they are. Any other suggestions? I'm looking for a pair of 12s that'll get louder than and sound better than the Orions. Preferrably a pair of efficient 12s.

In the market for some new subwoofers. So far i have stuck with name brand only. I now have 2 mtx 7500s in an mtx spec ported box, 1 1501d sub amp, 2 mtx 6152 2 channels, and a kinetik cap killer. I just discovered the ssa subs today and I am interested but just looking for some advice. Obviously want something louder but want to keep the current amp that i have. Thanks

Its very rarely I truly want a specific subwoofer. The spl-15 has done it.. I really like the 12, but wanted bigger. I like the idea of supporting a company that will support you and be willing to help advice like mach-5 does. And at the prices Marks doing the spl-15 for its crazy not to pick one up. It looks to be in the same league with $600-1000 subs. So guys I really want Mark to go ahead with the build.... SO what I'm really trying to say is buy a damn woofer Thanks, Joe

A friend of mine just finished a fairly low budget system in his subaru and he's unhappy with how is lows turned out so he wants me to help him out (sadly, I know more than he does). He says he wants more output, but I know that he is also not a mega bass head. currently he is running a cdt es sq-80 on a Alpine pdx 600.1. He didn't really know what he was buying when he bought an 8" built for SQ. He used this thread to build himself the same box: http://www.subaruforester.org/vbulletin/sh...ead.php?t=23261 He was hoping the box was his downfall but I'm telling him he should probably scrap the sub and the box. I think he can build a box to fit inside the wheel of the …
