Well its official! I just bought 4 Eminence Alpha 12s and 8 Selenium Bullet tweeters. Will be reusing the 8 Alpha 6s I have also. Was going to do 8 6s, 8 8s, 4 12s, and 8 tweets, but its just too much money. Instead of all 100.2s, Ill be running a 100.4 on the 8 6s, a 100.4 bridged on the 4 12s, and a 100.2 on the 8 Bullets. well got my subs today from the new years sale.one of the boxes was beat up pretty bad but the sub seems fine.Build quality and looks of sub seem very nice.BUT wow what a SOFT suspension.i hope these subs can handle 600 watts each,i know they are rated at 500 but i saw mark post that he'd seen people run 700 on'em with no problems. definitly will go with marks box and port size and lenght suggestions.hopefully he'll answer that for me in this thread.anyway,i look forward to installing my whole setup this coming week,temps forecasted for mid 60s.trying to figure out how to post pics of progress.

Does anybody have any experience with this driver? Does it sound decent? They are inexpensive and are supposed to be fairly nice drivers i was looking at pickin up two 10" and tossin each 1100w How would they stack up to two fi BL 10"?

Whats up peeps? I own 2 Massive DMX series 15s & i need help bad!! They're not the stage 2 subs and i cant find any info on them anywhere. I do know that they are dual 2 ohm, they have an inverted black dust cap, rubber surround, and they weigh a ton. I was wanting to put these in my 96 suburban. I need to know what the power handling is and vented box specs. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I was thinking of getting 2 Mach5Audio MJ-18 Single 4 ohm and running them off my Phoenix Gold Tantrum 1200.1 @ 2 ohms in a vented box 48 x 24 x 18 with 90 sq in of port tuned to 30 hz. this would go in inplace of the back seat of my 07 dodge quad cab. I was just wondering what your thoughts were on my box plans? each sub should see around 700 watts. this would be a purely show off setup for truck shows. any thoughts or opinions ??? thanks Chad

Ok I know you guys can get WAY too technical (not to mention harsh) for me but I'm going to try this anyway. I am currently running an active 2-way front stage plus two (sealed,downfired) 12" TC-9's in a Chevy Colorado extended cab. See profile. Although I am pleased with this setup I'm still lacking that "something" that makes it near perfect to my taste. In my mind I'm looking for SQ but I have seen too many people beaten down for using that term because we do not know what SQ is, let alone how to achieve it. I can not...nor will I...argue with that. What do you guy think of the older 4 spoke cast frame xtant x series round subs. Model x412. THey seem well built with a beefy magent, and 4 spoke basket. I can get a pair in mint condition. I was wondering how good they were. How much they ran new. And how they sound and what you think of them.. Also what would you pay for a pair of the 12's in like new shape...

Hey I am thinking about getting at least one sub for my car. I listen to almost everything. I am looking for something that will sound nice and not too hard hitting. I am looking more for sound quality than noise. I also would like to know what amp I should get to power it. Any help I can get will be much appreciated.

For years I've been obsessed with InfraLow bass. OK, not sub-sonic anymore...now 20-30Hz. I've had so many debates, and I've gotten so much critisizm for tuning "too low". The best way to argue would be...is there information on music CD's from 20-30Hz? I've had this discussion before, but no one had any solid proof. People with frequency spectrum analyzers said "Akon and Young Jeezy's Soul Survivor only goes down to 33Hz". When you play it on an analyzer, it shows a PEAK low of 33Hz. I need to bring my brahma back from the dead, its been sitting in my garage for over 3 years now (adire audio is no more) and i finally have the motivation to fix it. Where can i find a kit to re-cone and will the replacment effect the xbl2 technology or is that built into the sub itself. Id also need new tincle lead brakets (the things the leads are slolderd too marked + - ) a nice torque twist set would be nice. idk help me out ppl

I need help deciding on these.i got a punch 1000bd and it does 811 rms @ 2ohms(this would be for the mj-18s) and 1215@1ohm for the maw 15s.I got the whole bed of my truck for box room.so i could build a little bigger more efficient box for the 18s since my power is a little low.I got plenty for the 15s,i was just considering the 18s because ive never had 18s and i like LOW bass.no contests just me listening and maybe a little showin off at work.Which would be better for my taste.18s would be awesome if i got enuff to power them.but if the 15s would be louder with 400 more watts than the 18s i may go that route.ive emailed mark at mach 5 and havent gotten any responses.tha…

So i blew my morel supremo's.. 440$. Nice. Anyway what other tweeters are out there that sound great but are cheaper. I was on madisound and was looking at other morel drivers. The tweeters are so much cheaper then what i paid for these supremo's. I still want to get them but they are expensive and now i am questioning if they are worth it. Any tweeter recommendations would be appreciated. I am running a pioneer 9800 headunit off a sundown 100.4 amp. My mids are SEA excel's.

Anybody use/seen/heard the Lanzar opti6c comp set?? I know all Lanzar makes except the Opti line is Junk, but the Optiu amps are well built. This is a new one to me. So it got cold here and I turned my car stereo on about a week ago. The right midrange in the kick sterted to make a static/crackling sound. I immediatly turned the radio off until I could check it over. I checked my wiring and everything is secure. I turned the radio back on and the problem is not there anymore. The speaker then worked and no static. Two weeks go by and its randomly doing it again. I am at a loss. Ive checked everything but the impedance of the driver. Who knows maybe its on its death bed. Just wanted some input and opinions !! If you were going to design and build your own Subwoofers from a basic entry level to an elite SPL driver. What would be your main concerns ? High BL ? Great Heat Venting ? Insane Power Handling ? Light Moving Mass ? High Sensitivity ? Stiff Suspension ? Thanks !!

I have a modded mojo 2500D on the way and I'm very interested in these subs. On paper they seem to be exactly what I want. If I get two the amp will be ran @ 0.5ohm with somewhere around 1700w per sub. I can only afford one for now so I will probably run it at 4 ohm. Could a single Havoc handle 3kw if I wired it at 1ohm? On a side note, I see alot of vented boxes with the port at one end and the sub(s) at the other end. I usually place the port between the subs in a dual sub setup. Is there any gain from porting at the end of a box?

Im sure this isnt the right section. But its been a few months since I have posted here due to my new job and everything. Anyway. I am buying two Mach 5 Maw-15's And I was wondering is it possible to fit a 4.0 cu ft box in my trunk. I am driving a 1996 Ford Taurus GL. I would get the 12's But the 350 power rating kinda makes me speculate. I currently have 2 Memphis 12 PR's and I hate them. But the rating on them is 250rms, So Im not sure if the maw-12's would be much better in terms of output. But hey what do I know. Also I dont have the recommended sealed enclosure size for the 12's. ARG please help. I want Mach 5's I am driving a '96 Taurus GL. whats my best bet?

For SPL use only what in your opinion is the best 12" sub for comp. use and what type of power will they take.

i seen this one time in a lincoln towncar, made a center channel with two 3 inch subs, and for mids, anyhow i cant seem to find any one that makes 3 inch subs, so i turn to SSA<

the new SEs say SE near the surround where JL has their W7 logos on their sub and i dont like it. is there a way i can remove it with some kind of cleaner or something. want it to look perfect, so no painting or something cheesy like that thanks

Now that i'm going to have big power available in the home setup i thought about upgrading to an 18. And i found an 05 xxx Any thoughts on using it for the home setup ? There also is a chance i could go IB.

Hi. I am building a box for 4 of the MJ-18's. They will be used for home theater and music. So I think im going with 4.5 cubic feet each and tuned to 30hz. Should each subwoofer have its own chamber or should they all be together. If they are together how many ports should I use and what dimensions should they be. Thanks alot!
