  1. This is my first box so I have no idea what I'm doing! 7.573 cubes @ 34.21Hz I may reduce the port width from 8 inches to 6 inches which will bring the box to 8.574 cubes @ 28.54Hz. Input? (Will change a little with sub displacement) Bottom: 48" x 22" Top: 48" x 22" Left Side: 21.25" x 20.5" Right Side: 20.5" x 20.5" Back: 48" x 20.5" Front: 41.25" x 20.5" Port L1: 14.5" x 20.5" Port L2: 13.25" x 20.5" What would sound the best? Any suggestions?

Hi all, First of all let me start out by saying how happy I am with my 12" ICON I bought almost a year ago. This thing blew me away for the price I paid, but now I want more! Right now my setup is 1 12" ICON powered by a Sundown Audio SAZ-1000d and I have a couple of questions about upgrading... 1) Should I get another ICON or upgrade to 1 XCON? (either setup will probably be going in a sealed box) 2) Was thinking about purchasing another SAZ-1000d and using the master/slave feature to power whichever setup I go with, or would you recommend buying a different amp at like 2000 watts RMS instead of linking two together? Also, cost is important to me.

  4. I'm looking into a 10 or 12" sub and I'm tryin to find a choice from the Fi/AA lineup. I want to run it sealed. I'm looking for great SQ with a good amount of output. I have UP TO 1500 watts available, but i can go as low as 300 watts. The Arsenal seems to be the one to look at from AA's lineup without breaking the bank. The Havoc seems to be a bit too much SPL oriented i think? From Fi's lineup, I'm strictly looking at the Q. So how does Arsenal compare with the Q. Is SQ the same with a little less output, or does the Q have better SQ? Thanks for the help.

Okay so i got a new car and I dont have enough room for the maw-15's anymore. And from what I seen on the mach 5 website the ixl subs are susbstantialy more powerful than the maw series. I have a '06 pontiac g6 and I'm looking to get a pair of one of the ixl's. im looking to go as big as i can and get away with it in my given trunk space. The 10's look extremely good for the price and power. Would a pair of those out-do my maw-15's?

Alright well I have a very low budget for all door speakers and some bass... I definatley need the 5.25 door speakers. And I can't decide to either get 2 12s and leave my 6x9s out so it's just holes there. Or should I amp a set of 6x9s and no subs? My budget it around 400 for everything, speakers wires amps everything... It's all going in a 98 olds mobile alero. Thanks for any help you can give!

I used to have a 15 inch avalanche and i LOVED it. i would have ran 2 but they stopped making them. im looking for a great setup that is an LSQ setup which hits the lows GREAT. i want it to be hard to breathe in the car. im thinking of maybe 2 SI mag 15s with probably a 1000/1 on each. will probably be 8cuft ported tuned to 30hz. has anyone heard an avalanche 15 that can compare them? i have 4 15 RE SEs right now but i only installed one and i decided they were not what im looking for. any help will be appreciated thank you.

Hello all. I can't remember for the life of me but does a coil impedance tend to rise slightly or fall slightly after a sub has broken in. Planning my second sub soon and the first was supposed to be dual 1. Showed up with one at 1.4 and one at 1.6 brand new. Last i checked one was a 1.8 and the other a 2 Kinda confused me as I had ordered a dual 1. Dc offers a dual 1.4 and I wonder if they hadn't sent me the wrong load to begin with.

Ok so Im debating and I cant decide. Whether Xs or DCONs, each sub will be Single 4ohm so I can pair both and get a final load of 2 ohm (= 1000watts from my Sundown 2000D) Yes, this will be an ~8 month temporary setup while in the meantime I upgrade the electricals on a soon-to-be new car that I will be getting etc. Since my final setup will consist of 2 18s, it will take some time to have the car "ready" and honestly, my single 12 is not cutting it for now. Specially when I just upgraded my front stage with a Boss Rev. 665 amp. The bass can barely be felt. I dont know what are the advantages of going for the Fi X or the DCONs. All I can see is that the X have 2mm more of…

  11. Hello all, Brief run down 1999 Corvette with a custom box i made a few years ago Corvette box Well after 8 years of service my JL 10w3-4(dvc) (original ones) finally is giving out. I was doing some reading on a few forums and came accross the dcon as a great preformer for the money. However with my box im very limited on options. I need to know the width of the magnet, also if anyone has a picture of maybe the speaker with a measuring tape down so i can see where the basket protrudes. I have an ancient sony xplod amp 360rms @ 4ohms, not looking to build another box just want to drop in another sub and play. According to the instructions i followed on the build of t…

  12. i know this will vary greatly from vehicle to vehicle, but is there a general rule of thumb for sub/port placement as far as trunked cars being the loudest? i've always had setups in suv's, which usually take better to sub up, port back configurations. i have a 99 subaru impreza RS, and was wondering what would give me the best output as far as which way the sub fires, and which way the port fires. give me any, and all of your input. personal experience, theories, etc...

WEll, I had some other enclosures to build today so I decided I'd get a little playtime with the Magnum in... My baffle is pretty much finished up except for the cosmetics so I went ahead and hung it all from the deck and ran some speaker wire from my truck to the trunk of the Cutlass. Wow!!! This thing is AMAZING IB!!! GOOD GOD!!! I love this; I'm so happy with this application right now it's like getting laid! I don't remember the last time I sat in a vehicle with just a subwoofer playing and actually enjoyed it. Hell, I don't think I ever have until today. If anyone has the time and patience for this, I would highly recommend trying it. YOu will not be displea…

Daber Audio is starting to take off, so I thought I would take this chance and repost some of the store reviews we have got from them.... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Daber Audio SQL-10 Subwoofer Michelle Kibodeaux Says: "I was getting so frustrated that I couldn't hear the lower frequencies for some of my favorite music! But, I'm a mom, I drive a lil station wagon, and I wasn't into subs for the status. My 10" sub is perfect. Doesn't take up much room, still can tote groceries, but the bass makes all the grocery sacks make a sizzle sound. It's really just perfect!" --------------------------------------------------------…

Hey, I was wondering what the cones are made of? It looks like a pulp paper cone? If so, I take it they are holding up ok? Was it picked because of the light weight? Also wondering how I would wire 2-12's if I decide to go with them. I have a memphis mc1000d and wiring it to 1ohm gives you about 1100 w. So with 2 ohm d.v.c. I can only get 2 ohm and .5 ohm right? Does anyone know what the actual resistance is for the d2's wiring to .5 ohm. Like does it actually read .8 or like .3? curious because all the subs I have had never read exactly the correct ohm load. I don't want to have to buy a new amp to go with the mags. thanks.

So, I have a sundown ZV4 15 that I bought off someone online. I knew it had been previously reconed. I've only had it for about 3 months and now only when it hits higher bass notes like 45hrts and up I get this annoying vib. Anything under 45hrts even low 20's it sounds beautiful. Did the person that previously reconed it do something wrong or what. And how do I go about building a new kit?

I drive a Chevy Silverado 2002 extended cab, and I have the box built for 2 sundown X15s that sundown recommends on their website. My question is, will anything be effected if I put the subs on top facing the roof and the port in the middle facing my windshield. Or should I have it subs up, port up? I'm just wondering if there is a difference and what would be best. Thanks
