I want to go passive over active right now because active seems way more expensive considering that this will be my first component build. But, how do I get good mids and tweets to sound good with the crossovers? JimJ said that these crossovers won't work too well? Amp: Crunch PowerZone 4-Channel Amplifier (PZi175.4). Sub: Dayton RSS265HF-4 10" Reference HF Subwoofer 4 Ohm 350w RMS. Tweets: Morel MDT-12 1-1/8" Neodymium Tweeter 80w Mids: Dayton Classic DC130-8 6" 50w Crossover: Dayton XO2W-3K 2-Way Crossover 3,000 Hz Another question, will this ^ sound better than this: Pioneer Components, TS-C160R

Hello, and thanks in advance for your answers or comments! . ok. i have an older style fi btl 18 fully loaded. i blew it. i have it taken apart and the ring where the foam lip is located is completely clean. 1st question. 1. what is the best method to remove the leftovers from where the spiders were. ( about 1/4 inch of spider and alot of glue) i tried to use a dremel tool but it made bad odors that i didnt think would be good to breath in. i also tried a metal brush in my drill "was going VERY slow" and a knife didnt work well either 2. what type of glue do you use when you recone and is it something i can pick up at any hardware store? 3. is this something not to har…

Hi guys, Im not quite sure if I put this in the correct section but Im sorry if its not right. Anyways I found I really good deal on a W7 on Craigslist close to my house. I was going to call the guy and make a time to check out the sub. Im pretty dumb when it comes to knowing what signs of abuse are for subs but I was wanting to know in general what are some things I WANT to see as well as some things I DONT want to see (as far as whether I should buy the sub). I mean I know that holes in the subs surround or any cracks are bad but as far as the mechanics of the sub what are some signs of abuse. Hope this makes sense.

i have an Orion H2 12 inch sub its rated at 2000 wrms my amp is rated 1200 wrms i've had it for quite a while now and im starting to get some mechanical noise, sorta sounds like its bottoming out, but i know thats not the case b/c it has like a 4 inch travel, and its def. not moving that far. i took it to the shop i bought i from and the guy promised that the sub was not blown, but said there might be something wrong with the leads. he said he wont send it in to Directed without the original reciept, which after like 7 months i of course dont have. its not that huge of a deal cause i think im gonna get a Fi BL pretty soon, but do you guys have any idea what could possibly…

Hey guys. I've been thinking about this for a long time and it's been bugging me. Anyway, I have a 12" Fi Q in a 2.5 Cuft ported box after displacement tuned 32hz getting a solid 1000 watts and, first I have to say it's an amazing sub, but I've been thinking about replacing it with a 15" IXL. What I'm looking for is to keep the excellent sound quality my Q has which I think the IXL would do very well, but also I want to have the ability of getting much louder than my Q if one day I decide to turn it up or demo or something. What I was thinking of was if I got one, I would put it in a 4 Cuft ported box but I don't know if that is too big or not since the recommended size o…

My buddy recently ordered a brand new Fi X 15 without the BP option the other day for me as a gift. I plan on putting it in my girlfriends 2 door blazer. Anybody have experience with the new 750 watt RMS models of these subs? She currently has a VVME 1500 watt amp powering 2 old powerbass M-12's. These amps have clamped around 1400 watts at 1 ohm. I know the X is the entry level from Fi, but it should be able to handle a clean 1400 watts, right? Also, Anyone know the best sub/port combo for a blazer? The current setup is subs and port back. I havent tried anything else in there. It's pretty flat down to about 40hz but below that is a steep drop off. I was thinking sub up …

hey everyone, I was wondering if its possible to change the positive & negative terminals on a sub? I have JBL GT5s I'm using but it seems the terminals on the subs are very flimsy. Is there any way to change them to something a little more heavy duty or easier and more steardy to use? If so, can someone point me in the right direction on how to go about changing them? Thanks! Andrew

RE MT15 + Kicker ZX2500.1 @1.4ohms + 4.5cubes @33hz w/ 90 in^2 of port = wangage? Keep in mind I have 125 sq. feet of SecondSkin Damplifier applied on my truck, including near 3 layers on the roof, the back wall, and the side walls... and two on the doors. Too bad it didn't get the part of my bed flexing like it did the back window... it's crazy worse in person ... It's pretty sick in the truck, I'm pretty confident it's the loudest daily 1sub setup in the Tri-State... but who cares... Without further ado... http://realmofexcursion.com/videos/REAudio/mt15.8.wmv nG
