before..... after.... well i had to send one of my 6.5's in to RE so i decided it would be a perfect time to mess w/ these. i had a couple of gouges where the screw driver had hit it. i also added about a 2" hole in the back of each one. i haven't got to here both of them together but from what i can tell, the one 6.5 has as much midbass as the both of them together...

I am looking at the $25 TC9 motor, for those who do not know what I am talking about they can be found at caraudiojunkyard.com. There are 4 variations of the TC9 motor, which one is this? The only thing I know about them is that they are the ones with the 1" slugs. Is that the same motor that is used on the SS RL-P's? If not does anyone know of a sub that this model TC9 motor is used on? I am trying to figure out which one I am getting. If it is the model on the RL-P's then I might have to get some for sure.

So I'm looking for sub. Nothing huge, a 10" would most likely be best. I would prefer a small footprint, so I was looking at some of the slimmers subs out there. Kickers, JL, etc. What is the deal with slim subs? Do they perform as well as their deeper counterparts? Any benefits to them other than the small boxes needed? ANd on the topic of boxes, I read how you needed a proper box to make the sub sing, but I am curious. 1) how do you determine port length? 2) pro/con of doing a bended port? 3) the box can easily be too small, but can a box be too big? Just some questions while I am learning everything.

Remember this thing? Sorry these photos are old. I`ll take some new ones as soon as possible. My hard drive blew up & I lost all of my photos apart from the ones on PhotoBucket. ANYWAY: Thank You! Stereo Integrity:-) These 15" Magnums are amazing subs. My system is not walled and it`s very, very LOUD. I`m very happy. Running in the subs at the moment so they`re pretty stiff. Using only 4000wrms and Tuned to 33Hz. The system is hitting 150.7dB (Term LAB). With all windows & doors shut. Straight outta the box & 1st time being played LOUD. No test tones. I was messing about, playing MUSIC With the batteries on lower charge than usual as I had left the Pow…

I have noticed some noise coming from one of the ssd's and took it out of the enclosure. turns out the tinsel leads have burned down some of the padding.I'd like to replace them to get rid of that terrible noise. so how do i go about taking the pads off? And i was thinking of grabbing some felt pads and 3m spray adhesive to repair. would that do me? Thanks.

So, I had a little whoopsie the other day when my tweet fell off and hit my brand new ID 6.5" woofer, putting a very fine crack in the dustcap. It's only about an inch long, and it's a clean split... you hardly even notice it's there. What would somebody recommend I put on this to keep it from getting worse? It's not a gaping hole or anything it's hair-thin... thanks!

I have two blown MA Audio MA83XE's (8 in. subs) and i completely took them apart finding out the the voice coil of course, was melted. I measured the diameter of the voice coil from gap to gap and its 1.5 inches, is it possible to make use of these old motors/basket? or are they completely done for? If anyone has good advice on what to do with them, your advice is much appreciated. Thanks

Is it possible to just replace the surround on a sub, let's say Xcon? Can you do it without having to actually do a full recone?

Heres the situation...I have Boston Acoustic NX67 (around 5yrs old) in the back of my rsx. The problem is that when i raise the volume on my Alpine 9807 HU to around 15 at 200hz, mid-range +4 I get severe distortion from these speakers. A ppi 2240 amp is powering both these speakers and the front CDT Classic Components. The Comps sound beautiful at this volume, you can really here the mids and highs articulate and hereinlies the problem. I want to be able to play my deck at this volume at this specific x-over frequency (200hz) without the rears distorting. Would I be best suited to 1.) replace the boston coaxials with a speaker that can handle higher rms, 2.) replace…

My Dad's Ford Expo's Mach Audio subwoofer stopped working. I will be removing the stock 8" subwoofer and need some help finding a suitable replacement for the stock enclosure. The only sub I've found so far that meets the requirements is the MTX Thunder4500 8" : http://www.crutchfield.com/S-BPWdxhzxcW8/c...;i=236T4508#Tab And the spec requirements are: # 8" 4-ohm subwoofer # power range: 80-100 watts RMS (b/c stock amp is rated ~85rms) # sensitivity: 86.6 dB # top-mount depth: 3-3/4" (most important) THANKS!

I just sold my 15" TC-3K DVC so I'm looking for a new sub. It was in a 2.5 ft^3 sealed enclosure so I still have that box to work with. I also have a dual 12" sealed box 1.0 ft^3 per sub as well for use. The sub will be powered by my Sundown 1500D. I'm looking at the Havoc 15" to run sealed but haven't heard the sub so I'm looking for some suggestions on sub models and 1 15" vs. 2 12" subs. Looking for LSQ since with 1500 watts on tap I like to turn it up a bit. If you're wondering I got rid of the TC-3K since I have another for home theater use anyway but just want more SQ. It was a great sub but guess my ears are changing so looking for a bit more SQ than I had.

Posted this on Ca.com but wasn't getting to much helpful attention My right tweeter made an early exit. I replaced it with an Ifinity Reference I had laying around. Needless to say, the whole fronstage stinks. Looking to replace the tweeters with somewhat of an upgrade (if possible). Id say $50-$60 max would be the highest id like to spend on a pair of tweets that would pair well with the existing speakers. Someone mentioned the Blaupunkt Vc100's but I cannot find them anywhere. Thanks for the help

Hey there, I posted a topic earlier about my 68 Camaro: http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...showtopic=10357 I decided to build a new sub box, ported, to try and up my bass. Next I want to replace my current speakers, they aren't the best. I am trying to keep my budget around $600-700. I went to the local Car Phonics and they suggested this setup, and quoted me $692 (including install). However, I found the same speakers on ebay for under $300 (for both) and would be perfectly comfortable installing them myself. http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_components.php?comp_id=61 http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_compone...php?comp_id=129 Is this a good setup for my car?…

Can anyone tell me what other subs have the same basket as Assassin's before the FI buildhouse thingy happened? It's about 1 year old I guess maybe a little more. The ultimate question would be what beefier 10 can I put in it's place without it getting any wider at the magnets? I've got a center console box in my truck and the width is the limiting factor not the depth. I'm looking for LSQ approx 1 cube sealed. Magnets have to be less than 6.5" in diameter.
