I have a 2.05ft box tuned to 36hz for 2 10" drivers. I had 1 sa10 in a 1ft box tuned to 35hz and it's way too peaky for my tastes - shakes the whole car on lows but has hardly any output at higher frequencies, so music sounds "uneven". I'm trying to find a sub that has a smoother frequency response and sq but still gets decent spl. I've graphed 1 of each sub below, in a 1ft box tuned to 36hz (w/ the sa10 for reference). Each is at their recommended rms. I have no idea why the Demon is so off - I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong but I've triple checked all t/s numbers (if someone wants to try and graph that one for me feel free!) I'm limited to a max …

I bought a pair of used 12" Brahma MkII subs a few months back. When I hooked them up, the one has a slight noise to it (the other sub has no issues). At low volumes it wasn't really noticeable but with the volume turned up it was definitely noticeable. The noise originally sounded like the dust cap was loose (slight ticking sound). I checked the dust cap and it is secure. I pushed down on the cone to see if there was any noise/coil rub but there wasn't. The voice coils read like they should (1.5/1.6 ohms). I noticed that there was excess glue where the cone meets the spider (at the 1 o'clock, 6 o'clock, and 7 o'clock positions) and the glue is pretty hard. If I put a lit…

I'm looking to install a single 10" subwoofer under the rear seat of my '18 Ram 2500. The enclosure is sealed with a gross volume of 0.8 cubic feet. The amp hasn't been purchased yet, but I'm leaning heavily toward the new Sundown SFB1000D which would provide 1k watts at 2ohms. I'm looking for sound quality while still having the ability to get reasonably loud. I listen to rock, metal and rap. I'm about to pull the trigger on a 10" GCON, but I'd like to get opinions on any other subs I should be looking at before ordering. Budget is <$400.

I’m new to the forum so sorry if this is not the right place to ask. I have a 2013 Silverado crew cab and I know under the backseat is my only choice without doing a custom Center console my question is what subs will really hit or single sub my budget is 1,000$ for my whole system and I will be doing all my own installation and I have all my door speakers already so I need head unit sub or subs box and amp and wiring kit and I wasn’t going to do any sound proofing just yet I know I’m asking a lot but I just really wanna know can this truck really bang with the downfiring or upfiring setup and if so any help with the box would be great

  11. Yeah, I'm so happy right now, NOT! Anyway, I'm in my car with the beats going pretty good and all of a sudden the bass cuts out. I pop the trunk and run back to see WTF. My amp is on, it's not in protect, voltage is good, I'm f**kin clueless. Then as I'm about to stab the f**ckin sub it turns back on. Again, WTF. Then it doesn't exactly cut out but it plays at like 25% volume for a little while then comes back on then goes back to 25% vol. I go to the head unit, turn the volume down and after a while it seems to play normal. I wait and eventually turn the volume up again and presto! The mindf**ck starts all over again. Can a sub blow with no signs of it getting …

I've posted elsewhere but am hoping for more input. I'm changing/adding subs on a budget and I have it narrowed down to a few, but would like people's opinions on them. Car is a 2013 Elantra sedan, factory HU, using a basic LOC for signal. Will run 1/0 power wire. Amp will be a Taramps, model dependent on sub(s). I'll be building an mdf enclosure, probably ported. I listen to a mix of rap/dubstep/alt rock. Just a daily SQ system. Based on my budget and space limitations, I can do 2-12s using a pair of Ampere 2.5RVE or D.C. Level 2, or I can do a single 12 using either a Skar VXF, FI XV3, SSA Gcon or SSA Icon. What I'm really after is, are there any signif…

Hello all. Looking for input and opinions on which subwoofer would be the better choice, (ICON or DC LVL 3) for my scenario and for longevity. I have managed to destroy 2 Fosgate T1 15D2's in less then 2 years. Think it is time to find something of better quality or can handle my music/listening style better. Which consists of everything under the sun and usually very loud! So I need something that can handle whatever I throw at it. I don't compete and don't plan on it. Just enjoy my music... Thanks in advance and everyone have a great day!!! Quick run down of vehicle and system: 2001 VW Jetta 0g Power & Ground (from front to back) Big 3…

  14. Lots of info in this post, but I will bold the important bits and questions I have. Feel free to read it all but my main questions stem from box design perspectives. I can create another thread about electrical if needed so try to limit the discourse to enclosure related topics, cheers!! After much trial and error the only reasonable design choice left is to go for a slot port. I have tried and tried to fit an aero port however I have come across two problems. 1. I have to make my box far too large for my power >5 cubes net or 2. my port becomes feasibly too long to fit inside my box or outside (>28") along with airspeed issues with an 8 inch port (50 i…

  18. Hello everybody. I'm trying to build a small, powerful setup in my 2016 Silverado doublecab. I want to run 1 woofer. Breaking it in on ~2400 rms, then linking another amp going to 4800 once I finish the electrical. I'd like some clean sounding air movement. Not super into high notes, but I'd like to be able to hit the full range and then go down low with extreme authority. I'm looking to run this sub in a ported box as big as I can in the space I have, 2 cubes or less. Open to aeroporting. I've always ran single 15s but with the space constraints I'm open to moving down to 10 or 12. Interested in a nightshade nsv4 but can't decide/don't have the knowledge or experience to…

I am currently in the middle of my box build. I will post the full build later. The box is 16" wide x 28" tall x 25" deep. The sub and port are up. It will live in between the back seats in a 2008 Tundra. Powered by a 3000.1 Taramps. I have two baffles and a "beauty" panel cut. My question is do I need to use the double baffle if I properly glue the "beauty" panel to the baffle or can I go with a single baffle the "beauty" panel? Just wondering If I can save a little bit of height and still be safe and solid enough. Thanks for the help. Here is my box design.

Hey all! I still have a Revo 15 NIB I’m contemplating making a home theater sub out of, but for the hassle of a box build, amp, etc, I’m considering just getting an svs powered product as I’m in a rental with roomies and can’t exactly shake the house down with a ported 1200w 15 inch build =D i decided I’m never putting a 15 in a car ever again, I’m old now, 12w7 sealed Ive had forever will do fine haha. Anyone have a good budget idea for this monster or know anyone in the Bay Area that builds boxes/systems so I can put it to use? Or should I just forego the fantasy and try to sell this thing? It’s a discontinued legend (budget Lms ultra), part of …

I bought 2 12" kicker comprt subs I was going to use in a u carseat enclosure but iv recently been leaning more twords 6 6.5" subs in a forward facing box. I'm thinking of going with the skar evl 6.5s but cant find much info on them of other ppl who have used them. Will they have a decent amount of output? Will have to be a sealed enclosure due to only having 1.7 cubes total to play with
