Okay the recommendation for a sealed MAW-15 is 2.2 cubes which from my calculations will result with a Q of 0.548 (roughly) which should yield a tight response. I usually have built enclosures before with a Q of .7 and at the very least built enclosures with Q of around 6. My question is that has anyone tried these with a higher Q than the recommended and what were your results? For example below are some boxes sizes I came up with, no damping fill. Vb of 2.93 cubes = Q of 0.501 Vb of 2.5 cubes = Q of 0.524 Vb of 2.2 cubes = Q of 0.548 Vb of 1.88 cubes = Q of 0.578 Vb of 1.65 cubes = Q of 0.605 Vb of 1.10 cubes = Q of 0.704 Vb of 0.61 cubes = Q of 0.904

Hi all, First of all let me start out by saying how happy I am with my 12" ICON I bought almost a year ago. This thing blew me away for the price I paid, but now I want more! Right now my setup is 1 12" ICON powered by a Sundown Audio SAZ-1000d and I have a couple of questions about upgrading... 1) Should I get another ICON or upgrade to 1 XCON? (either setup will probably be going in a sealed box) 2) Was thinking about purchasing another SAZ-1000d and using the master/slave feature to power whichever setup I go with, or would you recommend buying a different amp at like 2000 watts RMS instead of linking two together? Also, cost is important to me.

Hello: I would greatly appreciate any input on securing or mounting my sub box to the rear trunk of my car (Mazda 3 Sedan). I found some references to using Velcro, L brackets etc., to secure the box to the trunk. Any other ideas or sugestions? Thank You! TSS

Here is a dumb question, I already have my subs firing towards the trunk lid in my car. My friend has 2 15' Memphis PR's in his S-10 firing down.... I was wondering if I had the room could I put my subs in my back seat firing towards the back glass or could I have them face the floorboard..... The trunk rattles wayyy to much and I was just curious. Wasn't sure if it would work or not. ~MadroX

Daber Audio is starting to take off, so I thought I would take this chance and repost some of the store reviews we have got from them.... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Daber Audio SQL-10 Subwoofer Michelle Kibodeaux Says: "I was getting so frustrated that I couldn't hear the lower frequencies for some of my favorite music! But, I'm a mom, I drive a lil station wagon, and I wasn't into subs for the status. My 10" sub is perfect. Doesn't take up much room, still can tote groceries, but the bass makes all the grocery sacks make a sizzle sound. It's really just perfect!" --------------------------------------------------------…

Right now i have one 12 inch w6 off an alpine mrd 1005 with the settings set very low. I am thinking about either getting another w6 and running it off that amp or getting a single 12 or 15 inch Q or BL and pushing everything to them with that amp... orrrrr getting 2 12 inch Q's with another Amp. I really cannot decide. Would the 2 w6's have better SQ but less SP then the 2 12 Q's. Any opinions and experiences with these woofers would be great. Thanks

So I would really like to learn more about all the T/S parameters and what each affects. I have been searching for a nice 10" at an afordable price and settled on the Fi BL for price and performance, and based on what I thought I knew about subs picked it over the Mach 5 IXL since it has a higher sensitivity and fs and SD I figured its louder. Then I modeled them both in WinISD beta... The red is the IXL blue is the BL, the lower line is my best attempt on both subs for a daily vented box, basically the flattest response I could get. IXL is flatter and louder... The other line is a 6th order spl box and once again IXL wins... Anyone know why and/or what parameters aff…

got a buddy that wants to get a good loud system, looking for a good 18" for loud daily probably in the $500 - $600 range give or take. Vehicle is undetermined for now, most likely an SUV, possibly a small hatchback sports car, either way will slot port and tune around 35Hz. probably get a HO alt, 2 AGM batts, and a BXi2608D as I've learned thats the best cheap way to go. Fully loaded BTL daily option is what we're lookin at now, but want to know what else is in this category? Thanks all! Krypto

I recently got a 2006 Pontiac G6 and I want to carry over most of my curent system. i.e. HU, Maw-15's. But the G6 comes with 6.5's in the doors and 6x9's on the back deck. Which opens up all kinds of possibilities since my last car only had 6x8s all the way around. My question is. What speakers will be good to have? I seen the Mach 5 6.5s but I really would like to keep the speakers the same brand. So What Speakers are a good choice. My Budget is Probably about $200. Thanks in advance. here are the speaker specs again Front = 6.5 Rear = 6x9 ~MadroX

I just got my fi bl 12's in today and they are sexy as hell!!! But I was thinking..... since I have some 18's and some 12's why not buy some 8's. Sure I would love to get some fi 8's, but since there are none I guess I will have to get something else! I have NEVER purchased 8's before and was wondering if yall could give me some input on some. I have 3000 watts to work with and was wondering what are some 8's that are on the same level as lets say fi's BTL series. I have heard of people getting some crazy numbers on them but do not remember which model or company they were referring to. Help is appreciated!

Hello all, Brief run down 1999 Corvette with a custom box i made a few years ago Corvette box Well after 8 years of service my JL 10w3-4(dvc) (original ones) finally is giving out. I was doing some reading on a few forums and came accross the dcon as a great preformer for the money. However with my box im very limited on options. I need to know the width of the magnet, also if anyone has a picture of maybe the speaker with a measuring tape down so i can see where the basket protrudes. I have an ancient sony xplod amp 360rms @ 4ohms, not looking to build another box just want to drop in another sub and play. According to the instructions i followed on the build of t…

OK, I am going to get a little more specific. I have an F150 crew cab, that right now I have 2 cheap planet audio 10"s under the rear seat. I am looking for a set of subs to replace these that will get louder. the mounting depth is 4 3/4 inches, max. And will play in an enclosure of .5 cu ft. Or has anyone used the single 10 in a ported enclosure under the seat? Or does anyone have any other ideas for a crew cab f150 that is still a family truck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The two subs that I am looking at so far that will fit are the JL 10w1v2 or the Kicker comp10.

Alright well I am about to put it in the box and I know I have to drill the surround so I can drill the screws in there. Should I remove that sticker on the bottom of the sub? And are there any specific ways to drill it? Is there anything else I should do when putting it in the box?

Merry Christmas everyone!! Here`s a card for you all. And have a BASSey NEW YEAR!! BTW: The fluffy puppet thing is known in the U.K. as FLAT ERIC. It was used in a LEVIS jeans advert years ago, bobbing its head to a mad Bassline whilst sitting in a car with its arm resting out the window.
