How much volume is occupied by the mj-18 driver? Are the recommended box volumes the internal volume of the box, or is it the internal volume minus the drivers volume? Thanks

What should I do go ported or sealed? Also my rockford amp says 1017 RMS @ 1 ohm. how do u set the ohm. im a total newbe sorry. and my subs only 500W RMS

Im set on the quality of Mahc 5 and its good reputation with customer service...so when i get the cash...ill be getting 2 15inch MAWs I want LSQ...a good mix...and from what i hear the maw sound good comparable to and IDQ, hit the lows, and get decently loud. For strictly LSQ would u go: 3.5 Sealed -or- 7 Ported tuned to 30hz ??????????????? or IXL-18.4 ported 7 cu. ft tuned to 28hz or 5 cu ft. sealed the speaker(s) would be going in a 1977 Buick Regal Coupe

i have a 98 blazer and im looking for a really loud daily driver something something over a 145 + thats what im hitting now,so im thinking 2 ssd 15's or 2 btl 12's or 15's,or since i have a btl 18 ordering another and just walling it (oh yea!!!)

My 4x 12" baby Magnums are on their way... Not sure how I `m going to install them in the Vectra. I`m not bothered about Peak SPL and prefer to have a system that plays low frequencies very loud. I`m aiming for over 140dB @ 20Hz in a trunk / boot install. Should easily do it with an I.S.O. set up. Using 2x MMATTS amps. Each pair of subs will be getting about 1400wrms. (2800wrms) Photo`s when I get started. Got to finish the Escort 1st. Just like to thank "Sundown Audio" for all their help as well

For purely academic purposes, imagine a ported enclosure tuned with 2 aeroports. If the aeroports were different lengths...and therefore different tunings, what would the net result to the listener be? Would the box only keep one tuning?...would the tuning freq be "spread out"?...would space/time warp and fold back on itself thereby negating this whole exercise? Thanks

i'm about to get a pair of 18's and i only want to run them sealed in the smallest ideal box i can have them in...they are going in a 92 cadillac eldorado with a pg amp...if anyone here can help me out with the best per chamber volume and total box net that would be much appreciated....thanks and im glad i joined this site.

I am having a problem finding the right amp for my 1 image dynamic 15 idq dual 2ohm subwoofer. I want about 600 watts rms at 4ohms mono. I looking at a us amp ax600, and a kicker sx600.2 right now. I also like orion and mtx as well but not sure which amp to go with. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

Anybody have an idea how the 12" icon will sound for rock in and enclosure tuned this high or have any suggestions for an enclosure/tunning made for rock/metal. I read this woofer gets real low but was wondering if i could build another enclosure to swap out just for rock and metal.

In need of a Single 12" or 15" Dual 2ohm The amp that will be used is the Rockford Fosgate T5001bd (500x1 at 1ohm) but the birthsheet says 1000+ at 1ohm.(don"t remember exact but it over 1000 watt) Going for (LSQ) not sure on price but nothing to crazy Give some ideas please it will be a big help. Im looking for a good 6.5 component set that is under $300 dollars and has good midbass. dont have an amp now i will get one that will match up good with the components.

Well Im going to be competing in the stock 601-1800 again next season.. (Competitions are done here till next year) First off the power amount im going to be using not sure.. Im going to try and get much as i can in that class with out linking amps, don't wanna mess with it. So should i go 2 12" subwoofers or one 18" subwoofer with the same amount of power? I was thinking maybe run two 12" btls or two 12" fi bls? Ive also been told try 4 l5's that will get me louder and cost the same as getting 2 btls I have around 5.8 cuft gross to work with. I went to marks house (mach 5 audio ) 3 days ago and picked up 4 mj 18's So i had to take out the old BTL left my van empty and lacking bass...untill...20 cubes and 30 hz later yes, thats my wire running above the carpet....no i wasnt too lazy to run it under the carpet i just have this place mat carpet the previous owner used in the back of the van so i just put it over the wires, you cant see them and the carpet doesnt move unless i move it. its not a ton louder then my single 15 BTL, but these are tuned to 30hz and i think they might move a bit more air yea the box is fugly but what box isnt after havin 4 big black monsters pounding away in it.
