I was just curious what physical attributes you guys look for in a speaker. I know the best thing to do is listen to it, but if your not able to at the moment, what are things you can look for that indicate whether it's a quality driver, or crappy driver? Any links to sites or threads would be appreciated.

Kinda sad to see em go, but now I not only have a father who doesn't complain about them taking up space, but I also have the opportunity to get something else to replace em I think a pair of MAW15's in the wagon would do very nicely, and they'd be a LOT easier to hide

I've been thinking about changing my sub setup in my regular cab sonoma for a couple of months now. Currently I'm running 2 RE10s in a sealed box each powered off of one channel of a Hifonics zx4000. I've been throwing around the idea of putting 4 of the Tang Band 6.5s in there to gain some space back for me to be more comfortable, but I think I'd rather go with something much louder. Originally, I had an AA Atlas 12 behind my passenger seat, and I really liked the sound of it, but with its 6.5" mounting depth, the box i made for it made my passenger very uncomfortable. Like an idiot, i sold the Atlas and went to the RE10s. Well I'm wanting to get something similar t…

I'll try to keep this short as possible. The other day I was browsing through the classsifieds over at ca.com. I stumbled upon an MX 12. So I said to myself that id like to try an MX, I heard great things about them, also they look sexy for my inverted install. So I offered to trade my 12" mag(current gen) for it. He said cool. i traded. I have had the mx now for about 3 weeks. I must say Im dissappointed The sound was kinda up there with the mag but it didnt have that certain "crisp" edge of sq that I liked in the mag. I could deal with that fine. But the absolute sh!ttiest part is. The DAM Mechanical Noise the MX puts out. Its ridiculous to hear that much noise coming …

Hey what would you choose for the best 10" SQ sub for $75 or less? I know that's not much to work with but those are my limitations right now so that's life. I can feed it up to 800 watts RMS. It will be run sealed in an 11" cube...so like .5 ft^3. Lemme know what you guys think. Thanks. EDIT: Go to second page....entire goal changed due to increased finances.

Im really considering these subs. I have a 12" Fi/SX hybrid right now and am looking to get 2 10's instead. Im contemplating 2 soundsplinter rli-10's, 2 Fi SSD 10's, or 2 Lv3 10's from DC. What would be the recommended box size ported for 2 of these 10's? I'll be powering it with an ED nine.1 Also what would be the total price for 2 Lv3 10's shipped to 70051?

Ok, to start off I'll say that I am tired of listening to my stock speakers. They aren't really that bad (well I have nothing that would be "good" to compare them to) but they need some help. I'm kinda working my toward a more SQ geared install. I still need to be able to crank it and watch my passengers cringe in pain and shock, lol. So now that you know what this thread is about I'll now start of with what I have and what I am waiting on and what plans I have for the future. What I have: I have a 03 Ford F-150 Reg Cab. The truck is as bone stock as you get, manual locks, windows, I mean plan as plan jane you can get. I currently have a Eclipse 8445 head unit. I a…

Every wiring diagram that I have found does not include dual 1 ohm drivers. I am curoius what the ohm load would be for 3 dual 1 ohm drivers wired in series/parallel. I know it will be somewhere between 1.0 and 0.5 ohms. Thanks

My Dad's Ford Expo's Mach Audio subwoofer stopped working. I will be removing the stock 8" subwoofer and need some help finding a suitable replacement for the stock enclosure. The only sub I've found so far that meets the requirements is the MTX Thunder4500 8" : http://www.crutchfield.com/S-BPWdxhzxcW8/c...;i=236T4508#Tab And the spec requirements are: # 8" 4-ohm subwoofer # power range: 80-100 watts RMS (b/c stock amp is rated ~85rms) # sensitivity: 86.6 dB # top-mount depth: 3-3/4" (most important) THANKS!

hi all! im a college student that is sick of not being able to purchase high end audio equipment but loves music. So i did a little research and stumbled upon the mj18. I've decided to do my first DIY sealed subwoofer using a single mj18 and buttkicker amp. I do know that they recommend 2.8 cu ft for a sealed mj18, but It looks as if alot of people are using larger boxes. Since im new to this, im uncertain as to why many of you have deviated from the "recommended" size. I would greatly appreciate if you guys could give me some tips, recommndations, and possibly some box dimensions on building my first sub without using a eq. I will most likely be using 3/4 mdf or plywood.…

Canidates Audioque HDC3 FI SSD (w/copper coil) or Q(stock) Kicker CVX Alpine Type R TC-Sounds tc-9 I want to power it with this: Hifonics BXi 1206D 2400-Watt Brutus Mono Amplifier http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=16367 But I also looked at these... Let me start this off by saying I have searched and read through many posts here and on the Caraudio.com and on theTCSounds forums to try and help me make this decision. Basically what I have is this I am planning to downsize from my current Eclipse 8122(TC7 motor) to a single 10. The sub will live in a sealed enclosure preferably on the smallish size as the reason for my downsize in system is that I have a new addition to the family and trunk space now comes at a premium! I have been looking at the following subs TC-1000, TC-7, RL-i and an Eclipse 8102 NIB off of Ebay. Based on what I have been able to gather the TC-1000 and RL-i are very similar in that they both use th…

Title says pretty much everything. What would produce the best sound given enough power is present. I have heard that more low xmax drivers will produce less distortion, any truth to that?
