I am upgrading my power on this sub from a Viper 1200, which already got it loud as piss, to a US Amps 07 model Merlin MD3D for daily street beating. How will the sub take the power? I have heard that in this power range in when the sub will really come to life. This won't be too much for daily will it? And what kind of increase in output can I expect? I know it may seem like a dumb question but any respones are welcome.

ok ive got a rf t10001bd that does 1633 watts rms at 1 oh and 1110 at 2 ohm. i also have a 2.5 cubic ft per side ported box tuned to 35-38 hz. the subs i have now are rf's t112d4. one of them blew for supposively no aparent reason at all so i replaced it. now the other one blew and yet again no reason. so i was thinking of switching brands. i have heard about the fi's, and just wondering what ones to really look at. i was thinkin the bl or the q series. im mostly spl but want it to sound good too. and if i do end up getting some, what ohm load should i get? and how would i wire them to 1ohm or above? Thanks.

I really am interested in buying some maw15's but I would need them to be dual 2's or single 4 ohm. Would this be a possibility?

Hi Everyone, The SPL 12 is complete, and while it came over and above our initial budget plans of ~$160, it also surpassed everything I was expecting an SPL driver to be. A big thanks go out to Loyd, Chad and Aaron for providing the necessary input needed to get this off the ground. As I've stated to others in the past, this is the most aggressive driver to be released by Mach 5, both in output and in cost (the cost to build this is high). I had to incur a fair bit up front for extra tooling in order to get this unit to production, but I think it will be worth the investment in the long run. Now the good news: If you want in on the ground level, I will make it MORE tha…

He He. Big thanks to Aaron!! Mark, I must say, you really outdo yourself. A $20 driver that performs like drivers five times the cost AND you have the audacity to include form fitting grills AND hardware. Mach 5 Audio, the pinnacle of the poor man's music! being broke never sounded so good. Now, on to the goodies. What is this mess on my driver?

According to SI's Mag webpage, the current one (Well, most current) is the fourth version. I know about the "Claw" Mag, and the (most) current Mag D2, but what are the other two versions? So how can I tell if I have the fourth generation Mag and not the third? And to the best of my knoledge, the Claw can't be paired with the Mag that's out, and both of them can't be paired with a triple stacked Mag that's coming out. Does the other two versions work with any of these mentioned. Also, Now that the new triple stacked Mag is making it's debut soon, what are we going to call the one that's out now? The first Mag is the Claw Mag, and the new one will be the new Mag. So wh…

Ok. The proto should be here tomorrow. I am sending the reps pictures of the proto as soon as it comes in, but after I email the reps the pics I will post pics up here on this thread. The gist of the design of the new Mag's is basic: Newer, bigger motor. (triple stacked BIG magnets) New soft parts with lots of goodies (TBA) including Fibutron (protected/copyrighted) re-enforced cones. Higher power handling. The same SQ as before. And of course a few un-mentionables that can only be experienced by actually listening to the driver. Speaking of which... A 15" version might find its way to a few people, but no demo-ring will be initiated this time. Anyway, stay tuned to …

I am curious about the Fi subwoofers. I have never heard them in person. I was planning on getting the JL W6V2 however I see that a LOT of people own Fi subs on this board. I can see that they are cheaper but are they actually better than JL? Another sub I was looking at was the Orion HCCA 12.4. I am going for SQ mainly however there are times when I want to really rip things apart with that bass. Thanks in advance for the help

planning a sealed box for a 18" rl-p, and i want this thing to be solid. first things first, im gonna resin it. should i do the entire inside, or just the edges? i was thinking mainly the edges to give it a nice tite seal. can i use resin instead of caulk? or should i caulk first, then resin? 2nd, instead of using a 2x baffle, i was thinking about bracing it. i saw this bracing thing from bcae: http://www.bcae1.com/spboxnew2.htm and was going to stick 2 of those in the box. (dims are 42x12.5x18.75) also maybe add some polyfill. the box + the bracing and displacement is going to be around 4.18 cubic ft w/o the fill thanks in advance

Hi, I'm new to this forum, and fairly new to car audio. I happened upon this site a few days ago and saw the MAW-15's, and have read some reviews on them. I'm pretty sure I want to buy them, but I would like some input on them, first. I've been thinking about buying an IDQ15 for awhile. But, if I can pick up a sub for 1/3 of the price that sounds as good(or damn near close to it), then it's a no-brainer. I'm willing to go up to $300 for a sub. That doesn't mean, though, that I necessarily want to spend that much. I'm figuring on 500-600 wrms, and I don't want to go over 2.5 cu. ft. For the most part I'm looking for SQ. Keep in mind I'm not trying to do a competi…

Hello All: This is my first venture into subwoofers and am hoping to build a Mach MAW-15 sub for Home Theater purposes. I have a prefab sealed cabinet with an internal volume of 2.5 cu. ft. I hope to drive it with a Parts Express SA240 or 240 watt plate amp. As the MAW-15 is rated at 500W RMS whereas with only 240w AMP - Is this power be sufficient to push the MAW-15 for Ht purposes. I humbly request your advice if I am on the right track in purchasing this driver. Keep up the gr8 product line! Kudos! Thank You! TSS

I have an RE SR 15" that I acquired in a trade on CA.com and I was wondering if I could put ~400-~500WRMS safely to it, with out burning up the coils? It's a 2.65Ft^3 box tuned to 35Hz, and I was thinking it would get a little louder off of 300WRMS than what it did.

Trying to cum up with a box to put in the back of a mini van, there site dose not have the rec. air space, so im guessing around 4 (ft3) for the both of them with a tuning of say 35 ish for her day to day driver. This is not for me, a manager at my work place requested me to do this job for her. YAA or NAA

Sorry it`s a JBL sub - But I do not have any MAG 12" Yet... Anyway this will give you a good idea of what an ISO set up does. The following text is taken from my Forum: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- O.K. Get ready because you are about to see one of the worse looking installs ever. I`ve not bothered doing anything special because my boot space is regularly taken up with power tools / tools / bags of sand etc. So there you go. No point in having a nice looking install that will get messed up within a few weeks. Anyway what I did today whilst at work was... ...add another 12" JB…

I have a set of alpine type x 6.5 comps in my car right now. I like the sound of them, but they dont handle quite enough power to get the loudness I want. I am considering either the boston z6's or the diamond d971's- both on ebay ~500 shipped. Has anybody out there heard these 2 sets of speakers to do a comparo? I would do a listen myself, but I dont really want to drive 4 hours to get to a shop that carries high end like that. I have had boston before and loved the sound( pro's and the old rally's). I have heard very good things about the diamonds but never actually heard any. As I said I like the sound of the alpine's, but would like a little more brightness on the twe…
