Guys, I have a really dumb question that I'm a little embarrassed to ask. I'm in the planning phase of doing a sealed fiberglass sub enclosure for a friend. My personal sub setup is infinite baffle. I did one sealed enclosure like 5 years ago and have since forgotten the answer to this question. When the sub manufacturer gives you the cubic footage for a sealed enclosure (in this case, .75 cu ft), does this INCLUDE or EXCLUDE the displacement of the sub itself? In other words, do I need to add to the .75 to allow for the space taken up by the magnet/etc, or do I simply make a box that has .75 cu ft of air space? If the answer is that I have to add the displacement of …

I decided to take pictures of my sub with the original claws. I am hoping to get this thing inverted here soon. Either way here they are for you all to enjoy.

I am doing single 10 setup, want some really nice SQ without doing sealed box. 1.25 net tuned to 29. Subs are similarly priced. I have owned FI Q 12 before and liked it but am intrigued by the Icon. Anyone owned both in any size?

Doing a system to my 2008 sierra ext. cab... I already have a kicker ZX700.5 amp and CDT EF-61i comps... Also going with the alpine IVA-W205 head unit... I'm looking for a little help on what sub I should look into... Looking for one 10" for a sealed in the .65 to 1.0 net vol. range.. Will be under back seat... With stock seat height I'm looking at a 5.5" mounting depth... but I'm looking at raising the back seat 3/4" max with wood blocks... If I do this it puts me up too 6.25" mounting depth.... The kicker will be feeding the sub around 400-500 watts rms @ 2ohm. IF I can get the seat high enough I am going with a sound splinter rli-10... IF raising the seat don't work …

May be a stupid question but i've heard people talk against the 15" for whatever reason and I was curious what you all thought. I'm planning on purchasing a single sub, either the 12" or 15". Are there any major differences between the two besides power use and loudness, or any reason against getting the larger version that I should know of. Thanks in advance.

Hey guys it's my first post here. I'm trying to "upgrade" from 2 IDQ 12 v3's in a sealed box. Basically I'm changing my setup to 1 12 instead of 2 because I can't fit a ported box for 2 12's in my trunk and the output of them sealed isn't cutting it for me so trying to find a single sub solution. The sub would be powered off a SAX-1200D and my budget is whatever I can sell the 2 IDQ's for hopefully in the $300-400 range. I pretty much narrowed it down to the SSA ICON and the Fi Q. Any comments on which sub will get louder off 1200 watts, dig deeper, and take a daily beating. Any other suggestions would be appreciated

As of right now I have 2 dd1508s on a MB quart discus 1.5k. I'm looking to get rid of my 8s and upgrade to a single 15. Power output of my amp I'd 4ohm=375 2ohm=750 and 1ohm=1500. I have plenty of space to work with (olds bravada(blazer)). 2 agm deep cycles, and a 200a alt. Depending whether I sell them or trade them I was seeing what people would recommend on my power supply that is reasonable. Like I said I might not buy new if I can get a decent trade for them. Any ideas? (I know daily or spl will be asked and it needs to be all around. This is a daily driver but I do meca on weekends.)

Canidates Audioque HDC3 FI SSD (w/copper coil) or Q(stock) Kicker CVX Alpine Type R TC-Sounds tc-9 I want to power it with this: Hifonics BXi 1206D 2400-Watt Brutus Mono Amplifier http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=16367 But I also looked at these... Here is my current setup, Vehicle 05 TrailBlazer Speakers (2) Eric Stevens Full body horns Under the dash (2) Silverflute 6.5's Factory location Processing MiniDSP Amplifier USAcoustics Barbra Ann 100x4 at 4 ohms or 175x4 at 2 ohms. Currently I am very satisfied with the current sound and output however, soon I will be going from no subwoofers to four fifteens. I am worried I will not have enough output on the mid side since I am running a single mid in each door in the factory locations. At my disposal I have an extra pair of silver flutes sitting in my closet just as spares which could be added. My question for outputs sake would I be better off going with …

I'm not 100% sure that I'll say all of this right, but I'm going to wing it. Let's just say you want to build a single reflex bandpass box, but you want to use a sub that isn't recommended for sealed enclosures. How do you find out how large to make the sealed part of the enclosure?

I'm planning on adding an amp & sub to my 2012 Ford Focus and am probably over-thinking it. I'm primarily looking at a single SA-12 D4 but I'm open to suggestions. Yellow & white lines are sealed enclosures based on Sundown's specs and a 0.707 Qtc enclosure. Bluish & pinkish lines are based on my calculations and Sundown's specs for a ported enclosure. I was originally leaning towards a sealed box since I was pretty happy with my previous sealed Pioneer 10s at 1cu ft ea & ~250W rms total. Now that I plotted out some graphs, I'm leaning towards the 1.8 cu ft box since it seems to have the best low end response. FWIW, I plan on pushing it with ~500W rms…

I had planned on getting a caprice but I don't think that is gonna happen any more so I am stuck with my existing car, a 95 Acura Integra. So I plan on getting a new sub but only one. And I want to use my existing amp, a Viper 2500.1 (1500x1@4ohms or 2500x1@2ohms), well because I have it and I don't want it sitting collecting dust. So I am looking for a single sub that will hump like two and take massive amounts of power. And to make it even more difficult, one that will operate at one of the above ohmages. And I do not have a problem setting gains really really low to compensate for a woofer that can't take as much power as I have. New or old.

I'm considering going to a single twelve to get my trunk back, and I'm having a very difficult time deciding on a driver for my application. I like the output of the BTL 18 I have and I am under the impression I can achieve similar output on a smaller driver because I've never even heard the Btl on more than 1500rms. There's a few too many options for me to pick from, I've been spinning in circles. If I'll have 7500rms on tap and anything from 1.5-2.5cu, what would be a woofer capabile of strong authoritative bass? I'm looking at N2/N3 12's, Evil 12's, Team Sundown 12's but I have no clue how to pick one. Each is a significantly different price and I just want to mak…

Well I've decided two woofers take up too much room in the back of my escape. So I'm going for a single woofer set up. At first I was thinking one Sundown Z 12, but then I saw 18s... So now I need recommendations, One woofer to replace two SA12s. My amp is a Memphis PR1.5KD. 1500w at 2 ohms, I'm unsure of any lower than 2 ohm stability. I'd like it to be under 500.

Other than the space it would take up. Would the sound be different in a box thats 2.5 (per sub) @ 32h vs. 3.5(per sub) @ 32hz?? Same power, same subs, same everything. Thx

what differences would i notice with a 12 inch with these differnt box sizes, 1.0CF, 1.3CF, 1.5CF would i loose any sound quality or puchiness as i went bigger? i ask becuase i found a way to make a bit more space in my truck and as you all saw my box design in another post it ended up around 1.25CF after displacement. if you think it will make a "good" difference i can crank it up to about 1.3-1.4CF after displacement.

This is my second time writing this because my *DELL* laptops monitor just blacked out... haha. Alright, so I am looking for a 15 that is under 180 bones, has good SQ, but will get louder than my sealed Rockford P2 12. I plan on porting whatever I get at 30Hz. I really love the low lows. I have an amp that puts out 500w @ 2ohms. I was choosing between 4 different subs that could fit my description. Obsidian 15, Sundown E-15, Skar IVX 15, and SSA Dcon 15. Whatever I get, it will be a D4. I change my mind a lot, but I am going to look past the OA-15 because I won't be able to power it sufficiently, and I am also looking past the Sundown E-15 because (from what I read on her…

Im only going to be able to push 600w or so. I have an AA Havoc 12 here, and was wondering if it would be better to get a new 600w sub like the VVX, or just way underpower the Havoc. Im going to have to build or get a new box as well, and Skar has the VVX + box combo deal. Trying to get down to about 1.75cu, which would really lower the output of the Havoc as well. Im trying to get as loud as I can with 600w while still retaining sound quality and being able to dig low. So which would be louder and/or sound better out of 1.75-2cu, around 30hz with 600w?
