Subwoofers / Speakers

Discuss Subwoofers And All Aspects Of Speakers here.

I recently got a 2006 Pontiac G6 and I want to carry over most of my curent system. i.e. HU, Maw-15's. But the G6 comes with 6.5's in the doors and 6x9's on the back deck. Which opens up all kinds of possibilities since my last car only had 6x8s all the way around. My question is. What speakers will be good to have? I seen the Mach 5 6.5s but I really would like to keep the speakers the same brand. So What Speakers are a good choice. My Budget is Probably about $200. Thanks in advance. here are the speaker specs again Front = 6.5 Rear = 6x9 ~MadroX

I've had several of these drivers in several sizes and haved loved them all (only cuz I got them cheap ), but I have an opportunity to snag 3 of the 12W6s for virtually no money. Does anyone here still consider these to be worth any value? I have no real use for them yet, so it would be nothing more than a quick turn-around investment. With all the new drivers out there though, I'm wondering if it's even worthwhile. The 3 I'm getting are of the first gen, but they are all unused and still boxed. I'm getting them from dealer who had them in the back of his warehouse for years and never knew they were there. He did some housecleaning last week, and guess what appe…

I know the website recommends box specs at 2 cubes net tuned to 32. However, I think that the literature I received with the sub said 2.3 cubes net tuned at 30. I am sure that either will work. This will be my first ported box (don't worry, I am not building it myself) and I admittedly don't know any more than what I have read. Anyway, my question is, which way should I go with this -- 32 or 30? If it helps, I am more into sq than spl. (And would it even make that much of a difference?)

I wanted to make use of my DD mids and put them in the burb doors. I dont have any tweeters or a crossover so i contacted upstage audio about some CDT ones. He offered me the tw-24 tweeter with 456 crossover for a nice price. My question is, will my DD's with a dcr of 3.5ohms pair up with the 4ohm tweeter and crossover without any problems ? He also offered me an orion P series crossover instead of the cdt one. I have no idea if the Orion would be better. I think the Orion mids have a lower dcr, somewhere near the DD's...could be wrong though please excuse any spelling errors, i cant get it down pat today for some reason

Alright, I have been looking and looking for these but I cannot find (on DC's website) where to order them. I find the specs and everything but no "order now". I have no idea how much they cost either... Any "hey dumbass, go here" posts would be good =) Thanks in advanced.

I am planning on running 2 SA-8s in my mustang install (not sure if theyll be v1 or v2 yet) and I have a few enclosure questions and need a little help. Im wanting to run them in slot ported enclosures BUT they will not fire into the trunk the will fire into a space that is sealed off from the trunk but ported through the rear deck. My questions are; 1) Whats the smallest box youd reccomend for them to perform great in a daily app and still do good in a burp situation. 2) Anybody have a box design program that will map out the whole design (dimensions and all) ? They would like to use to give me a box idea.

OK So I have a 2000 Dodge ram Standard cab, I had 2 polk audio 12s in it 1 cu sealed per woofer. They are gone now. I am trying to decide if I want to go with 1 12 in center console area, 2 8's behind the seat s or 1-2 10s. I play a wide variety of music. I want it to pound when i want it to and sound clean when I need it to. With the truck being a std cab sucks for space. I am going to run a massive audio Nano N2 800 rms amp. I dont mind taking out the center console to replace it with a box but if I can get away with putting something behind the seats and the console then would be better all around. Oh ya for clarification looking at SSA ICON 12/10 respectively or 2 T…

What's Up Guys? I just recently bought a camaro and was wanting to develop a substage in it. I think I'm going to buy a subthump enclosure and was wondering what you guys thought I should do. They offer a deepwell enclosure whihc is what I was thnking of getting. I was wondering if 2 sealed RL-P 15's would be choked in 3.2 cubes or not? I have always used 12s and think 15s owuld be cool to use. The deep well box offers 3.2 cubes and then normal well enclosure offers 2.3 cubes. Deep Well Woofer Options-Single 12 or 15, and Dual 12 or 15 So Give me some ideas within these guidelines please. Thanks.

Aight. You'll think I'm stupid but... Why choose the Havoc over the T2? I understand that the Havoc has more power handling and Xmax, But the T2 has a lower Qtx, higher Bl, and I know it can handle a lil over 1000. I'm pretty set on the Havoc cuz I know it will be able to handle more power, but just out of curiosity why choose the Havoc?

I have a 1998 GMC Jimmy. I'm running 2 Sundown SA15's on a Hifonics BRE1600.1 I'm getting ready to start a new box because i realized a measured the last one wrong so i only have about 4.5 cubes net. Clearly not enough for the subs . Here are my maximum dimensions. I can go 37 wide THE'ts right on the wheels wells would probably have about a 1/4" on each side. I would go 25 deep. Gives me about 7 1/2 inches to the back hatch. 24 high gives about a foot to the roof. Any idea's for a box. Probably just gonna stick with 35hz and I want it to be very loud but i want to be able to listen to music not just do burps. I think that's all the needed info right?

I bought a pair of 3-way 6x9s (pioneer, not the best, but definately better than the stock 99 dodge stereo), and was thinking about adding another pair under the backseat after i get my sub. Would it hurt to get 2-ways (would it sound bad mixed with the 3-ways). I dont see any reason not to, but maybe im missing something.

I've briefly heard a pair of JL 10W6 in a ported enclosure powered by a jl 1000/1, i liked there sound from what i heard, but i would like more output and possibly more low end bass. My budget is ~$500 for sub(s) and box Sub(s) will be going in my ext cab Silverado, under the rear seat lifted 2". I listen to basically everything, from rap to country. About 70% rap/hip-hop and 30% everything else. My goals are to have a nice sounding setup, with a good amount of output. I'm not looking for amazing SQ, but I don't want a one note wonder either. I've been thinking about going with a single 12, maybe a couple of 10s, or even a few 8s. Whatever I choose will be ran off of my S…

I have the Tweets and Mid-Range already. I was planning on using them with the 4x Vifa PLs I already have, but considering the Usher Mid-Bass a bit. Click on pictures for more information: Tweets Mid-Range Mid-Bass Any opinions? Crossover points/slopes suggestions? I think it might be kinda unique to tell people when they ask that my front stage is all "Usher Audio" and see the puzzled look. Although "Vifa" Mid-Bass would get the same look from most people I'm sure. The Hammer

Looking for a 10" DVC 4ohm.The box has .75 cu ft and a mounting depth of around 8". Space is very limited and I can't get a bigger box unless I want to take up the whole rear, which I don't want to do. Everybody has Alpine Type-R subs around here and I would like to not go that route.I'm sure that their are some brands I'm not aware of that you guys do. I would say around $150 for the sub. Got 600rms @ 2ohm to give it.

I have an old RE 12 that I had no Idea what the model number was and so forth so I emailed some pictures to the Fi-Recone email. They informed me that it is the SE series and RMS's around 600 watts. What Recone kit would be best for this subwoofer and would it be cheaper for me to purchase the recone and do it myself or just send it in to Fi? Your help is much appreciated, I know there is a probably a lack of information but that is about as much as I know about the subwoofer.
