Ok guys, here's my situation . I'm running 1 18" btl with a saz-1500.... I'll be upgrading the sub amp soon. But I have stock speakers right now an they're not cutting it whatsoever. So I picked up an alpine pdx 100.4 for a good ass price. I also ordered a 4 channel 4 ga knukonceptz flex amp kit And I'm looking into a componet set or just speakers. Sizes that will fit in my car are 5-1/4 and 6-3/4. My price range is like 200-250 bucks for speakers. So I was looking into type r componets and my question is, could I run just a type r component set up front with crossovers and just two type r speakers w/o crossovers in the back? Also im wondering if i could run just 4 type …

So, iv finally got my subwoofer enclosure finished, and set up in my trunk. After listening to it for a while it was surprisingly accurate, id say even more accurate than my Type X's which are actually supposed to be SQ drivers. Overall super impressed, and obviously it gets nice and loud.

Hey what's up I'm new here and I'm on here because I have been looking at these two sets of speakers for a few weeks now and I can't decide between the two. The first one is a pair of Focal 165A1s they look really nice and they sound great as far as I could tell in the local shop. I can get those for 300 from them. The other pair is a pair of Image Dynamics CTX 65cs I heard these briefly and they sounded ok and they are super loud I just can't decide if the difference is enough to warrant a 100 dollar price increase for for the Focals. Does anyone have any first hand experience with both of these sets. I'd have either set powered adequately with what ever amplifier I need…

Thats right, my 15" SID2 does not have a logo, but fear not I bought it legit from Nick. I really wish it had a logo on it tho and all the stickers I get done from the local sticker shop sucks real bad. Is there any way I can ship the sub back to SI and get a logo put on the basket?

Ok so I have one 12" ssd, with 700 watts, and im upgrading to 1200+ watts with the sundown 1200d v.2. Im not sure if I want to buy another ssd and make a new box, or just replace my existing ssd with one sub that can handle the power (and keep my existing box). I was browsing and found the hifonics olympus "olm1612," which does 1600rms bl=11, mms=204, fs=35.5. Given this sub's fs, can I still tune it to 32hz? And what does everyone think about hifonic's subs? I have always known their products, particularly their amps, to be somewhat cheap and overrated.

Greetings, i'm looking at purchasing some new mids/high speakers for my car. i was going to go find the AA componets or get the Infinity Kappa coax's. my question is if i get the kappa's will i regret not buying the AA's? i plan to get 2 pairs of 6x9's (threeway), 1 pair of 3.5's. now my next question is would it be recommended to get the kappas as well as the componets? like maybe get a set of componets for the doors? also are the kicker KS's better quality then the kappa's?

Well long story but i have a 95 toyota camry 4 door, this is the first car i ever got. Got it when i was 16, wrecked it that same year, now its almost done being fixed and i am currently 18. But now that it is almost done i am excited because it is a nice car to put a good system in it. So i was wondering what kind of speakers to put in my car. The HU i wanted to go with was the Kenwood Excelon x792. The speaker sizes are 6.5" in the front and 6x9" in the rear. I like speakers that give really nice sound quality and i listen to all types of music but mostly hip hop. Also i wanted something that is going to be loud too. I plan on amplifying it as well. So any ideas on what…

what can i put on the crack to help it hold together for the time being, its a sligh crack, and its not really getting any bigger, but it probably will with time, i bought it for the mini cooper, and im gonna use it until i need a recone. it doesnt have any affect on performance so at the moment a recone doesnt concern me. but im wondering if theyres anything i can put on the crack to help hold it together (hopefully something that wont be too ugly either) but ill have to live with it. I have been up and down on what I wanted to put in my trunk. After some help from others on here I have got a starting point to get some good opinions. If this is still not a good starting point just tell me what I need to do. So I have measured my trunk and found that 34L x 34W x13H would be the largest enclosure I would be able to get in and out of my trunk with out building multiple piece enclosure. So with this new information I have realized that what I wanted to do will not fit in the opening of my trunk. So These are my thoughts of my new direction for my first car audio build. My current sub choices are: -FI BL12d1 x 2 -SA8-v2 x 4 (I would not be against the …

I had my new audio equipment installed today, and Ive got a few questions that Im hoping a few of you can answer for me, mostly about my amp Im running my 15" D2 off a Hifonics BX1500D wired at 1-Ohm, and the sub itself is in a 3.2ft^3 enclosure ported @ 32Hz. Im running 4-gauge interconnects from KnuKonceptz and using an Alpine CDA-9827 Head Unit (4-Volt subwoofer out). I know a few of you here are running the same amp I am, which is why I decided to ask this here Anyways, this is my first big install and I am pretty much clueless when it comes to setting my amp settings correctly: SSF (15-35Hz, currently set to 25Hz) Bass Eq (1-18db, currently set on 4db or 5db) Low P…

i'm thinking about adding a cheap 10" sub to my dad's home audio setup. i was thinking about a RE re10d4 in 1.5cu @ ~28hz or something along these lines. his stereo receiver has a sub preamp output so i can just buy a cheap mono amp (100-200w) for power. the sub will be going with a pair of monitor audio rs6 towers in a medium/large living room. for price reference the re subs go for about $50ea. i was also looking at the dayton hf but they're about twice as much, i'm trying to stay under $75 shipped if possible. any suggestions???

Hi guys, i have been doing a lot of reading, and i have heard nothing but good things about the magnum... ok so here's my delima. I have a 92 toyota pickup, and im not cutting a hole in my truck bed. Since i cannot physically see the sub, i thought i would ask for help. Im gonna build a custom box, for behind my seat... i think i can get the box at around 1cf and still be able to fit my amp. Ok so heres my question... Is that gonna cut it. i mean would i be better off looking for something more shallow, or would that be enough for the sub... i noticed the mounting depth was like 6.75 or so right... have you guys ever seen your sub used in a wedge box. Thanks for your…

came across SSA today while shopping for some news subs. i have a kenwood excelon amp which pushes 600rms x1 at 2ohms and its 1ohm stable but with no power rating. i posted on crutchfield.com and by chance someone mensioned the ssa icon 12" that he heard. i dont think i have the power for that sub.... i listen to metal and atternative rock. so i goin for a sq or LSQ kind of set up. buget is $250 max. i build my own box and understand box construction. my old subs where 3 12" kicker comps (my first system so dont bash me about them. lol) just looking for something that will keep me satified for the next couple year while im at college. so this is basicly my only upgrade i…
