just wondering,

I wanted to make use of my DD mids and put them in the burb doors. I dont have any tweeters or a crossover so i contacted upstage audio about some CDT ones. He offered me the tw-24 tweeter with 456 crossover for a nice price. My question is, will my DD's with a dcr of 3.5ohms pair up with the 4ohm tweeter and crossover without any problems ? He also offered me an orion P series crossover instead of the cdt one. I have no idea if the Orion would be better. I think the Orion mids have a lower dcr, somewhere near the DD's...could be wrong though please excuse any spelling errors, i cant get it down pat today for some reason

I have a 1998 GMC Jimmy. I'm running 2 Sundown SA15's on a Hifonics BRE1600.1 I'm getting ready to start a new box because i realized a measured the last one wrong so i only have about 4.5 cubes net. Clearly not enough for the subs . Here are my maximum dimensions. I can go 37 wide THE'ts right on the wheels wells would probably have about a 1/4" on each side. I would go 25 deep. Gives me about 7 1/2 inches to the back hatch. 24 high gives about a foot to the roof. Any idea's for a box. Probably just gonna stick with 35hz and I want it to be very loud but i want to be able to listen to music not just do burps. I think that's all the needed info right?

Ok so i got my tape measure went to the trunk and figured out my not quit max volume i could use for a box and came up wt 15.5cu^3 big ass trunk huh, and i was thinking about porting it to 46hz, but i would just stuff it for daily.. i was planning on 2 SX 15's....but ya neva know about subs these days.. i should put up hella numbers wt this setup :boink:

So I plan on taking advantage of the SAZ-1500D sale this month and I am going to need to decide which sub(s) to purchase as well. I'm looking for a little guidance in this respect. I own a trunk car so I'd like to keep the size of the box down if at all possible - I'm thinking under 3 cubes. So that probably leaves me with either one 12" ported, or 2 12" sealed. I guess I could do 1 15" sealed too. I listen to mostly rap, so SQ is of little concern, but I don't want it to sound like complete crap either, at least to me. Alright, I have narrowed down my decision to three choices and I need help deciding which one to go with. The three possible choices i have come up with are, 2x 12" DC Level 3s 1x 15" DC Level 4 or 1x Fi Bl I will be using a Audioque 1200d for my amp with a stock alt and a extra battery in back. The boxes will all be tuned in between 32-34 hz built to specs given by the manufactures. I have heard great things about all these subs and I am stuck on which to choose. I am mainly looking for a loud but still clean sounding set up to play mainly rap/hip-hop music. I would like to hear any reasons you may have for which set up to choose. Thanks.

I'm looking to get a nice build going for my '02 GMC Envoy. I just replace the junk factory radio today with a Pioneer AVH-P8400BH and also decided to pick up a ND-BC5 back up camera. Now its time to get the sub-stage rolling. Currently my truck runs on a stock 150amp alt which will need a upgrade. So I am limited to a single h/o alt for this build due to no room under the hood. I'm leaning towards a dc 270amp alt. With this alt and a power cell or 2 will I have trouble keeping up the demand of a Crecendo BC3500 with possibly 500-1k watts to spare for my front stage? I want to pick up a pair of SSA XCONS for this amp but I'm having trouble on deciding to go with 2-12's or…

OK, so im trying to put new 6.5's in my moms car for christmas. and her stock speakers (blown) had 2 sets of wires coming to them, they were 2 negative and 2 positive. to each speaker. and the speakers i bought have only 1 set.(1 positive and 1 negavitve). so how do i hook it up. just put both positive to the 1 on the spaker? or only use 1 set of wires?

Since I have a son my girl wants a car seat in both cars I have to take the 15s out the back seat and I won't be able to do my dp21 I'm thinking about 3 10s facing into the car and porting the back deck. I'm about to pick up a crunch 3000d and its going into a 02 Pontiac sunfire. I was wondering if there was anyone around that can recone 6.5in mids? One was defective when I recieved the set and the store I bought it from wants me to uninstall the entire comp set and then pay to have them warrantied (not happening). Anyway, I haven't done much research so if anyone knows anybody who can do it then great. They are the mids from the Cadence CWM-6KIT. The recent ones, they're all over eBay. Thanks in advance.

What's Up Guys? I just recently bought a camaro and was wanting to develop a substage in it. I think I'm going to buy a subthump enclosure and was wondering what you guys thought I should do. They offer a deepwell enclosure whihc is what I was thnking of getting. I was wondering if 2 sealed RL-P 15's would be choked in 3.2 cubes or not? I have always used 12s and think 15s owuld be cool to use. The deep well box offers 3.2 cubes and then normal well enclosure offers 2.3 cubes. Deep Well Woofer Options-Single 12 or 15, and Dual 12 or 15 So Give me some ideas within these guidelines please. Thanks.

I see the recommending tuning is from 27-33hz. How do those number compare? Is 27hz going to loose a lot of top end compared to 33hz? Does tuning on the lower end of the range actually gain a noticeable amount of deep bass production>

Actually 2 sets. Budget approx $400 for both sets. They'll both be powered off a Sundown sax100.4...the front set getting full power. The rear set will be set low, so power handling isn't an issue there. They don't need to match, but the front set needs to be loud. They need to be able to handle the sine sweeps of bass music. I burnt out a couple sets of tweets with bass music. Apparantly, I need some components that are tougher than infinity reference's. What would you recommend? Should I get $100 rears and $300 fronts? or two sets of $200 for front and back? Should I buy a low end set of Rainbows or CDT's...or a higherend set of Kickers or Alpines?

So a buddy of mine gave me his 2 L7's and an amp (that shall not be named as I fear I would be stoned to death). He told me the l7's didn't work but I took them anyways. You can see where there was a little melting going on. For the first sub I tested each voice coil and only one coil worked. The coil that didn't work is pictured above I haven't tested the second sub but the only thing noticably wrong is one of the wires is disconnected on the positive voice coil, which I will solder(sp?) back together. Both the subs move freely by hand and I really don't see anything visibly wrong (except for what is mentioned above). I have never owned a sub so I really don't know wha…

hey guys, i'm really leaning towards getting a 12" D2 for my system right now, but i got a quick question. i'm planning on powering it w/ an avionixx 800.2 (1x800 watts RMS bridged @ 4ohms) in a sealed enclosure ~1.6 cu. ft. will the D2 still sound clean and moderately loud w/ this little bit of power? i'm going for LSQ by the way.
