Subwoofers / Speakers

The voice coil wire on my subwoofer disconnected from the terminal. and the Terminal popped off the basket. It is one of those old timey sub terminals like the ones you see on some 6x9's. Any way to replace it or fix myself? Maybe a good solder job? Thanks in Advance ~MadroX

Ok, i've been wanting to build a ground pounder for awile now and i'm getting everything worked out before i start. I've gotten some help on box size and tuning (thank you mark) and now i need to figure out my box placement. Looks like the subs will be 4 mj-18's run off a power acoustik a3000db in an 18-20 cube box (depends on if i can fit 20) tuned between 30-35hz. Now i can build the box from behind the front seats back to the tailgate and fire the subs up, or i could build it from the tailgate to where the rear seat is at(it's gonna be out or folded) and fire the subs forward. Would the 15 work ok in a smaller than 3.0 cu ft box? The price is very right, and i have heard the SQ rivals the IDQ, but i don't know if i want to fit that large of a box. That would be nearly double the size of my 1.6 ported 12RLP. So if i went sealed i could save some space, but would that be any louder than my ported RLP? Also, would i lose SQ to the RLP?

ok I have my decision narrowed down to a few choices, I am looking for LSQ more sq though, these will be ported and on a sundown SAZ-1500D amp, I will use my entire trunk if possible(15.7cubes) I dont have any electrical upgrades and think the only ones i'll need with 1500wrms will be a new battery and the big 3, but yeah the choices are either 2 RD sonance 15"s, or 2 RD classic 15"s, or a SI new MAG 15"s, also if you think of any other sugesstions feel free to write them down, thank you

A dual 10" SI BM set up in a sealed box would be easily comparable if not better in SQ than two w6's, correct? I'm considering my next setup, even though i just got my SSD's in. haah never happy, althought currently, im extremely happy with the Fi's but ya gotta switch things up.

i have been researching alot on these 2 subs just dont know which is best for my plan. my plan is to do a budget minded spl/daily system my goal is to do a 150 under 1000 dollars on subs/amps/and batts now my question is 1) do iahve enough space for 4 15's i have a 98 chevy silverado extended cab 2) which sub is better for my application

So, I was going to upgrade my system soon. And I am going to get two 15" subs. So here are some of the ones I was looking at that were in my immediate price range. I got 12" Jensen hooked up on a Lanzar Vibe276 and for some reason it is continuously popping. The sub pushes out like it's playing a 1 hz test or something. Someone told me it was clipping but I am not sure. Any Ideas. Thanks ~Thomas

Im having a hard time weeding thru everything to find the best of the best woofer for my application. It seems as if i get a different answer from everyplace... So ive decided to ask seperate questions and be more specific in my application goals (and poll as many peeps as possible). Box will be ported using 6" areos. I want a pair of 15s that can accuratly reproduce all bass (especially the lows) @ a 4 ohm load on my amp. At that power i want to be able to go to an sq comp and win. what do you guys think. my buddy has a kicker 12 l7 in a spec box hooked up to the kicker 700 watt amp. Im looking to out bang him with one FI Q, what do you think my chances are. im looking to put 1000w rms to the q in the best box i can fit in my car. Any suggestions

TS-W2504SPL and Fi SSD 10" how do these two subs compare? if you only have exp. with one of them put your 2 cents in.

Looking to getting an 8/10 inch subwoofer. I want the subs to be able to get loud, possibly mistaken for some 12s. But I really want them to be able to hit the spot, great SQ. Looking under 200 a sub. So far I was thinking along the lines of Assasins, DDs, SS Rls, TC10 OEM, smaller TCs, not realy sure yet though. Havent bought an amp for them yet so thats a little bit flexible.

what is a good amp for the mj-18? the 4 ohm version

Ok, I am in the market for my first Amp, and Sub set up, I have done tons of research and have talked to the guys at carstereo.com. I have a 2007 honda accord V6 EX-L, I have all stock speakers and all stock power, but it already sounds pretty good for all stock. I want my set up to sound smooth and fluent, rather than just ridiculous bass. I think I and going to get Fi Q15" sub, and Memphis PRD 16 1000.1, If there is any other set up that would meet my needs for around the same price, please let me know. Fi Q15 Memphis 16 PRD 1000.1

I have received samples in the past and personally feel they are over the edge. Heck, 18" units are too big for many. What's your take on something like this? Best, Mark

Actually 2 sets. Budget approx $400 for both sets. They'll both be powered off a Sundown sax100.4...the front set getting full power. The rear set will be set low, so power handling isn't an issue there. They don't need to match, but the front set needs to be loud. They need to be able to handle the sine sweeps of bass music. I burnt out a couple sets of tweets with bass music. Apparantly, I need some components that are tougher than infinity reference's. What would you recommend? Should I get $100 rears and $300 fronts? or two sets of $200 for front and back? Should I buy a low end set of Rainbows or CDT's...or a higherend set of Kickers or Alpines?

Hey guys I can't wait to swap my 2 12s for a single 18 for some real low extension and think these are the two possible winners. the Sound Splinter Rlp 18 and the Fi Q 18. as stated in the topic description, i listen to alot of rock music along with rap and country. i have some eD 6000's in the doors of my 94 chevy that i personally cut holes for. it used to have 4x6's in the dash that sounded crappy. i also put some rainbow 5.25's in the rear panels, its an ext cab, not sure wut model the rainbows are, 100 bux on ebay. anyway, im lookin for more midbass when listening to rock music. i have a XXX 18 and an FI BTL 18.
