Alright to start off i dont mind waiting for a little. So the question is what should i wait for . I have and ext cab s10, i believe if i do a half wall i will be able to put two of the spl 12's he has cooking in a ported box in the back. or i could go will two of his 15's in a ported box, or finally one IXL 18.4 in a very big and stuffed sealed box.. I would love a lot of output, i could deal with a little SQ but spl is my main concern, as well as lows i absolutly love my lows so what do you thank i should get. I dont know exactly how much i can fit back there but it should be around 7-9 cubes for the half wall.

I just installed my maw-15's. And they sound great. But I know alot of you say i must break them in. How long will that take? And how would you recommend breaking em in? I usually just play at half volume, but once in a while turn it up about max then turn it down after a few seconds. I do this for about a week and then start giving the sub alot of power constantly. I get carried away sometimes and just want to give the subs max power. I have a problem lol. will giving it a good amount of power once in a while, damage the future performance of the sub? Any tips on breaking in? And is the after math after breaking them in really that dramatic? And anyone wondering if they …

I was wondering how a 15" mag sealed with 1000 watts will sounds in a 2.8 box. I was hoping to achieve a LSQ setup if that is possible. I would like to know if in a sealed setup the mag will be able to put out a fair amount of volume becasue i already know that no matter what i do to it it will sound great i am just wondering about the volume? Thanks in advance for your help.

  8. I spent some time on the net looking a different box design programs ,as I'm getting to build my first box ,and now more confused than ever. esp. with WinISD which many seem to use. There always seems to be a box or component of the software I don't know how to complete and so never seem to realize any ultimate box design. I'm leaning to making a sealed box ultimately, but am somewhat interested in a slot ported box if I can get the dimensions right that will fit in one side of the trunk of my car "95 Impala SS" and a programme that will let me configure those measurements. I did find a website with some ported box options, but something just didn't strike a cord right…

I'm looking to build a serious quality HT sub that will really hit the lows, and with a FS of 15.4 hz thats enough to keep me smiling. i was thinking along the lines of a rectangular box with a 6" port and roughly 15 cubes tuned to 20 hz, what do you guys think? gives me a miniscule bump in the low 20's but keeps the f3 at ~17 hz. i was thinking 1" MDF with a double thickness front baffle, but am not quite sure how to brace it. (i can't wait for the IXL drivers) http://www.techytoys.com/store/product.php?productid=4501 thats what i will be using for an amp, The buttkicker 1100w @ 4 ohm. (i like the idea of a separate sub amp instead of the plate amp setup because i can th…

Okay the recommendation for a sealed MAW-15 is 2.2 cubes which from my calculations will result with a Q of 0.548 (roughly) which should yield a tight response. I usually have built enclosures before with a Q of .7 and at the very least built enclosures with Q of around 6. My question is that has anyone tried these with a higher Q than the recommended and what were your results? For example below are some boxes sizes I came up with, no damping fill. Vb of 2.93 cubes = Q of 0.501 Vb of 2.5 cubes = Q of 0.524 Vb of 2.2 cubes = Q of 0.548 Vb of 1.88 cubes = Q of 0.578 Vb of 1.65 cubes = Q of 0.605 Vb of 1.10 cubes = Q of 0.704 Vb of 0.61 cubes = Q of 0.904

Okay I am offering $10.00Cad to the first person to make me blueprints for 3 MAW10's in a ported enclosure.. they can be sperate chamber or all in the same chamber as long as the box is tuned to 29-30HZ. My trunk is: H-14.5" W-36" D-12" , The specs for the 3 10's show 1cuft per sub ported to 29HZ. I can't seem to do this for some reason so any 1 person that can draw up a blueprint will get the $10.00Cad.. PS- Port need to be in the front baffle of the enclosure, if all 36 inches are used... Thank you Justin

Hello, i have been hearing many good things about the MAW subs, but i would like to know how they compare to other subs. I have owned INfinity kappa perfects, Perfect VQ, ED K series(original, and v2), and currently i am running an SS RLP 12. How does the output compare to these and others such as IDQ, or the current ED k series, since those can also run in small boxes for a 15. Also, since the Qts is so small on the MAW 15, can it run in a smaller box than the 2.2 sealed and 3.0 ported with good results?

  15. ok so i have two oz audio ME 10.4's one of which just got its dustcap ruptured during a move. it's a nice sized crack that spans the diameter of the cap, but it's not a hole. i've tried numerous times to contact oz to get a replacement to no avail [and i've heard they don't offer replacements after the warranty period anyways] so i did two things. first i epoxied the crack yesterday. second i found someone with an ubranded RE SR dustcap that seems to be the same shape sans oz audio imprint. pic of RE SR for reference: so my question is whether either of these modifications to one sub will alter the combined sound of both subs. i know you're not supposed to mix speakers t…

Hey all, I was thinking about getting 2 RL-i8's for my 99 4door Tahoe, would this be enough to get decent bass? I know I have a lot of room for subs but I don't want to take up too much space (I have 2 kids). I have not heard these subs before, but from the vedio that was put out from the hellboy box amazed me. I know I wont get thoes numbers they put up but I still want some decent sound and loudness. Thanks for any input.

I'm going to attempt my first door pods. There not going to be down low and the bottom of the door like most. Mine will be up a little higher. My question is, whats the best way to face them??? Should they (6.5" mid & 1" tweet RE's RE comp set) both (pass & driver) be angle up towards me? Or the one on the pass. side angled towards me, and driver towards the pass.? Or what other suggestions would you recommend?

I'm at the point that I'm interested in replacing my Ascendant Audio 10" Assassin with either another 10" with something a little more powerful. I'm interested in the SPL subs that Loyd tested. Does anybody know when they will be for sale? If its going to be a long time, lets talk about the loudness difference between my 10" Assassin, and maybe a 12" MAW powered off 300watts. I've also been looking at tc's t1000 line, I like the looks of them, mechanically. I really would like something in either a 10 or 12 that moves alot of air with 300watts.

I am either going to port my single maw i have now (3cf net tuned to 32 hz with 31sq ft of port area) or buy another maw and do 2 sealed at 3.5cf net , only no separate chambers. . there is a brace though . Which would be your choice? I want louder, but dont want to lack in sq. i would stuff the sealed box heavily to make up for the space. which do you "think" would be louder out of the 2 setups?

I just order 2 maw-15's from the sound solutions shop. I gonna run them sealed and power them with a hifonics bx1500d about 1300-1400 clean watts at 1 ohm to both of them together. How hard do you think they will hit and how loud? Im running a fi ssd ported with the same amp right now but i need more , since my car has bad cabin gain. Will this set up kill my 12 inch ssd I have now? Im trying to get my setup louder and deeper then a fi q 12 inch ported powered by a 1000 watt lanzer amp. My friend has that setup in his scion tc, and it bangs in that car. I have a 4 door sedan and decided i needed more to get as loud as his. I just hope this is what im looking for. Any Tho…

So, I have a newly acquired ep3 (Honda Civic SI, 2002). Audio system is completely stock. It has a set of tweets 1'' above the dash, and two pairs of 6.5'' speakers in it. I believe i should be getting a component set, and leave the rear stage for fill, and only get fronts. So then I could get some nice stuff, but mind it has to be within the power range of the CS60.4. I'm new to component sets, although, I know rainbow has some nice stuff. I will be using the speakers with (more then likely) two of these ported http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshowdetl.c...tnumber=295-466 For anything you post, a link would be VERY helpful, thank you!
