I am currently in the middle of my box build. I will post the full build later. The box is 16" wide x 28" tall x 25" deep. The sub and port are up. It will live in between the back seats in a 2008 Tundra. Powered by a 3000.1 Taramps. I have two baffles and a "beauty" panel cut. My question is do I need to use the double baffle if I properly glue the "beauty" panel to the baffle or can I go with a single baffle the "beauty" panel? Just wondering If I can save a little bit of height and still be safe and solid enough. Thanks for the help. Here is my box design.

  4. I was just getting ready to design a new box for my D2 and noticed that Stereo Integrity and the D2 are no longer listed as of BassBox Pro version 6.0.18. They used to be, but I installed the latest patch bringing me up to version 6.0.18 Pro and I can't find it listed to save my life. Anyone else missing it as well? Strange that they would remove it. I don't want to have to enter all of the data manually

  5. Hey guys its Max here I just thought I'd post and let you see for yourselves what the Magnum can really do when it comes to excursion, even though, strictly speaking, excursion isnt really that important, especially if you consider how important other parameters are. Anyhow. This a picture if a Mag 12" running off an RF1500bd in 1.8cubes tuned to around 30hz. Also, I thought Id let you know that we hit 141.7dB on the Termlab the other weekend with the Mag too, thanks to my buddy Bill's Termlab sensor You can all keep your RE's, eD's, JL's, RF's, Kickers - cos this thing does everything you'd want it to. Regardless what people think of its musical ability (a subjective s…

Hello, I'm in Alberta. Been looking at a few manufacturers in the USA. I was planning on two AudioQue HDC3 18s.. but its gunna cost over $800 dollars to get the two to me, including the cost of the woofers. Mach5 is alot closer. I heard about Mach5 from a guy on CanadianCarAudio, who suggest one of the MLI-65 for a computer subwoofer. I've been looking at the MJM-18. I really do wish I had a larger budget. Original plan was 6. But the cost of the woofers themselves, wiring, alternator, batteries, and the rest of the audio gear I need for my truck... its gunna go over my budget.. I have a budget of at least 1200 for my whole stereo, but probably not more than 1500, but may…

I haven't been on this forum in a while so just thought I would drop in. Can't wait to see the new BM series drivers come out. Also, I have been working on my install off and on lately, added new HO alt, Yellow Top, Big 3, etc.... and will be soon building a new home for my Mag 15 and amp rack. I am tempted to go ported but don't want to lose the sq that I love so much about the sealed mag. However, I am still being impressed more and more as I have had alot more time to play with my mag lately and this sucker still impresses the hell out of me and anyone that listens to it. Again great job SI!!!!! sure wish I could fit 2 15s.

I have been shopping a bunch of different subs to upgrade to. I have locked my budget to 450 MAX. I have been looking at 4 12" type r's. Just recently, I got more interested in 2 15 type r's. Now I am between the 2 15 type r's and an aa havoc 18. I will be running small sealed- 4 cu ft. right now, probably get another cube with a few mods to my box. I have 4 10" mtx thunder 5500 at this time, and I listen to mostly rock/metal, 70's,80's and a lot of Pink Floyd. I want: 1) better low freq extension, 2) keep the tightness that I have right now 3)more spl. I have an saz1500d for power. Any honest opinions/recommendations plz? Pricing: 4 12 type r: 440 shipped 2 15 type r:41…

Im going to try and get much as i can in that class with out linking amps, don't wanna mess with it. So should i go 2 12" subwoofers or one 18" subwoofer with the same amount of power? hey fellas, i recently bought a new car, a 1999 olds 88 ls. its a grandpa car, i know, but thats ok, cuz i like it. now i like keeping the stock look for now, and dont have a lot of time/money/energy to put into the stereo right now. the stock system is ok for now, but i would like to upgrade the speakers for a little more clarity, midbass, and maybe the ability to turn it up a little louder with a little less distortion (though i realize this is probably also because of the stock cd player.) im wanting just some low-mid level upgrades for front and rear speakers. front speakers will probably come first. first question, is this even going to be worth it, if im not add…

I just got this e-mail from john after over a year over not selling they are finally available Hello, You had requested to be put on the list to be notified once our AV woofers were in stock again. We finally have these available. Due to a mismatch at the plate shop you can now get AV woofers at a special price for a limited time. The T-yokes have a clear zinc plating and top plates have a yellow zing. This makes absolutely no difference for anything other than cosmetics. They still come with the same 3 yr warranty, parameters are identical, and they will function the same as with the matched plating. Frames are not black instead of the previous silver. The re…

So yeah, even with better amp grounding causing less voltage drop on my voltmeter, and enabling my other 1/0g power line, I was no better then before. No matter if I was revving the crap out of the engine, or if the battery charger was connected. Simply, the subs don't get any louder past a certain wattage, which I'm guesstimating to be in the 600 watt range, while my amp can put out about 1000 watts per sub. And just for jokes, I played some music with the drivers side windows down, loudest was AM Kidd's - Bay Wid it, pushing 146.1db. It sounds LOUD as heck inside the car, and now it's confirmed that it's loud outside the car too Interesting, I only got 142.5db with the…

Well I have 2 Alpine Type R's in 2.2CF @36Hz each seperate enclosures with a Hifonics Brutus 1600 and I am thinking about making a smaller setup with equal or better sound level, what do you think would sound better the Alpine's or a single FI BTL12? would it be as clear? I am planning on tuning it to the same Hz cuz I like that tuning, what do you think would it be as good or better? I plan on upping the power to the Brutus 2600 soon if I go the BTL. Any ideas? Thanks, Oh yeah this is in a crew cab Duramax Chevy truck if it matters. I am still a noob at this stuff, this was my first build with the Alpines.

Hey guys, I am looking to get alittle advice on a sub or subs for my truck. 2007 F250 HD crew cab with bucket seats in the back. (daily driver) Right now it has a Alpine 7in touch screen Multi Media head unit, Alpine 4.150 running Alpine mids and highs and also running one 10in Fosgate P2 in a .53 cuft sealed box behind one of the back seats facing forward. It sounds good and very clean but the one sub in that little box just dont cut it for me. The last real system I had was 2 15in Diamonds in a big sealed enclosure down firing into the spare tire well of a Lincoln Mark 8. (10 years ago lol) I do not have much room to play with here but I was looking and I can build …

hello, thanks for any help in advance. i'm looking at ordering my first mach 5 subs ( ) and just wanted some recommendations as to which ones' i should get and bopx sizes. right now i have a crappy 15" kicker cvr in a ported box tuned to 35-36hz. and i want something to keep up with it in spl but also have better sq (which shouldn't be hard since kicker sucks, but it was damn near free). i have 650wrms to play with so i'm thinking about 2 maw 12's. how would they compare sealed or ported? if sealed works (kinda hoping it does, miss the lows my box now doesn't get) what would be good size, was thinking about 2.5cuft after displacements? or ported, but i'd want it tuned lo…

I received my 12” Level 3 and was super excited when I opened it up. It is an amazing looking sub. However, once I pulled it out of the box, I saw that the braided wires (tinsel leads??) that connect to the terminals were disconnected on both sides (both terminals). Is this normal? And if so, is it something I can fix.
