  2. I have a 15 inch Fi SSD with a bout 800 watts going to it. I want to get some front 6.5 components that will be able to keep up with it. I have a kicker 150.2 amp so that should be able to do about 100 watts x 2. Budget around 100 dollars but I will go higher or lower if its worth it.

  3. alright, system consists of pioneer premier DEH-600UB, hifonics BXi1208D pushing 3 ppi PCX102's in 3.5 cubes at 35Hz (when I build the box, lol), no rear speakers I am going to get a small 2ch amp for the front speakers and disable the internal amp in the HU, but if I buy comps, the doors will not be deadened right away, and will probably only be some ~75 dollar comps like some alpine type s, phoenix gold, etc... and the amp will only be giving them anywhere from 60-100 watts per channel at 4 ohms. coax's would be mounted in doors as would the midbass and tweets would go on the door panels right by the dash. should I just get coax's and amp them right away? get comps an…

Im sure this isnt the right section. But its been a few months since I have posted here due to my new job and everything. Anyway. I am buying two Mach 5 Maw-15's And I was wondering is it possible to fit a 4.0 cu ft box in my trunk. I am driving a 1996 Ford Taurus GL. I would get the 12's But the 350 power rating kinda makes me speculate. I currently have 2 Memphis 12 PR's and I hate them. But the rating on them is 250rms, So Im not sure if the maw-12's would be much better in terms of output. But hey what do I know. Also I dont have the recommended sealed enclosure size for the 12's. ARG please help. I want Mach 5's I am driving a '96 Taurus GL. whats my best bet?

  12. Trunk is small. Box can't be any taller than 12" so I'm limited to the 10" icon. I love deep bass, but SPL is going to be my number one concern. Ride is a 2005 mustang and I'm going for a DD setup, so I don't want a one note wonder. I'd plan on doing the recommended 1.35 cubes tuned on the lower range of 27-33hz. I'm hoping this would be a loud setup. Hopefully louder than a ED 13av.2 sealed in 1 cube (my previous setup). Height and width of box are 12x33 leaving depth to be whatever it needs to be for the optimal box.

I have a 1994 GMC Jimmy 4-door. I am looking to replace my factory speakers. I have 4x6 speakers in the dash (not sure of mounting depth, could not find that spec. anywhere) and according to my research 6 3/4" in the rear doors (again not sure of mounting depth). This will be the first time i go with components or run the speakers off of anything but the head unit. I will be using an old rockford 2 channel amp to power the speakers, it is 100.2 (if memory serves). I need help choosing speakers to fit in the stock location. I would like to keep the cost ~$200, but i can go more if need be. I am open to all suggestions since i am a noob when it comes to this. So an…

  14. Hi all, I have a BTL n2 12" actually, and I love it. but I want more now ! I was thinking of reconing it to a 15" sub. Can you tell me what I need to buy from Fi, of course ? Recone kit, basket ? Is it hard to do ? Can I find a tutorial here or elsewhere (I'll try Google !). I won't do it myself as I am not very familiar with speaker recones and tools, and ...anything !!! a friend of mine will do it, but I want to know some things before. I already have a design for a good box. It must be around 3-3.5 ft3 net @ 32 Hz ! Thanks in advance for your help.

i was setting the gains for my front stage today by using a 1khz test tone, the test tone was only for the left channel, i forgot to disconnect the speakers from my amp , so after i was done setting the gain, i smelled the smell and i was scared. I put on a lil Santana to test my newly set gains out, and it seemed that the left channel was noticably quieter than the right channel, enough where the right side, overcomes the left. the right speaker still works, gets loud, just not as loud. Is my speaker screwed?? or is there a way to get it loud again?

I am going to make my first attempt at a fiberglass enclosure for a single DCON 10. It will be right near the ideal 1.25 cu. ft. But it is a stealth install in a side well in the hatch area of my wagon. I actually use my cargo space. The question comes in terms of ports. I would like to go with aero ports for ease of use. My box won't be very deep so port length will be difficult to attain and keep tuning in the low 30's. What are some thoughts or recommendations? Could I go with Two 2" aeros? Final length would need to be about 12 total inches so two 6" long ports? A single 3" would need to be about 15" long and is not possible. Would two 3" ports be better?

Alright, so my new project truck is coming along (by coming along, i mean its not running and i'm tearing the interior apart). Anyways, i'm trying to piece together an SQ setup in my head and this is what i have so far. Headunit: some type of indash dvd player (leaning towards the kenwood 717) Speakers: front stage only: RE RE components, and a midbass (XXX 6" or dayton RS 7") all the speakers in door pods Speaker amp: MTX blue thunder 400x5 (dedicated sub channel to power the midbass if necessary). subs: its gonna be ridiculous sub amps: lots of them Now, for the problems. I have heard the RE tweeters are kinda harsh, any recommendations on curing this problem(either wit…

Where can I buy these Mach Audio MLI6.5? Not in the SSA store right only from the mach5audio.com website? I am also going to get some seas tweeter. I have an eclipse ea4000 so the woofers will be getting 75rms each and so will the tweeters. My headunit is a sony cd700 or whatever with graphic equalizer etc.... can I go active with it? Just with the headunit? This is my dumb idea. Cross everything over at 75hz and then play the woofers and mids, but obviously that isn't right? Anybody give me a hand or point me in the right direction if I'm doing this right? -Andres
