Subwoofers / Speakers

I decided to go with 2 12" SI Mag but i have limited trunk space because i have a Civic. Does anyone think i could 2 mags in a ported box hittin to their full potetial, the box will be tuned to 32 Hz if that helps, in my Civic. Ive never built a box and im pretty new to car audio but i know someone who's gonna help me build the box.

I have Soundsplinter 15 in a 2.0 cu ft box. I would like to go to SI MAg 12. I would like to have output similar to a 15 so I want to go ported. How much SQ do u really lose. It goes in the trunk of Grand prix. I listen to some rap, but also some metal, reggae, and even techno. If u seal a Magnum do u hinder some of its marvelous attributes. I will be running Old School Orion( Pre DEI disaster) XTR Pro 1000

What's Up Guys? I just recently bought a camaro and was wanting to develop a substage in it. I think I'm going to buy a subthump enclosure and was wondering what you guys thought I should do. They offer a deepwell enclosure whihc is what I was thnking of getting. I was wondering if 2 sealed RL-P 15's would be choked in 3.2 cubes or not? I have always used 12s and think 15s owuld be cool to use. The deep well box offers 3.2 cubes and then normal well enclosure offers 2.3 cubes. Deep Well Woofer Options-Single 12 or 15, and Dual 12 or 15 So Give me some ideas within these guidelines please. Thanks.

how does the SI D2 12" stack up vs the JL 12W7? i don't want JL as i am going for brands not in most retail stores, i want to know how this will compare SAME POWER ON BOTH. i have seen people post on other forums and they compare one to another but the power is differnt.

Hey guys Im currently waiting for my SI 12" to be delivered from low-hz and Im starting on the box. 1300ish watts from a diamond D5 1200.1 in a 1.25ft^3 pre displacement sealed box. Anyway trying to work out dimensions and I was just wondering what the mounting ring diameter is? Just so I leave enough mdf outside the 11.125 cutout. Thanks

Here is my is where i am at. I am going to get 2 JL 500/1. I am looking at 2 ebay auctions. I don't know if ii should get the 12in Image dynamics dual 4ohm or a RE audio 12in SX dual 2 ohm? I am looking for big base but still keep a good amount of SQ. Also i don't know which would be better for me 2 or 4 ohm. I have read lots of good things about RE audio on this forum ,but Image dynamics doesn't seem like a bad choice. I am going to build a sealed box if that makes a difference.

Well, after much testing and some talking with Scott I've been given the OK to go and do a group buy for Hybrid Audio Legatia L3's. I would like a minimum of 5 buyers. This will go on for a month. The normal price on these is 250$ and Scott is letting these go for 200$ for this group buy. ok my friend will build me a box in his wood shop but i need to get him plans. I just got 2 12 inch 3xl subs and there not loud to me, the box is 2.0 cubic feet per chamber. I hear great things about them so my question is will they get louder after they break in or will i need to put them in a bigger box thanks.

I just Stripped the black powder coating off and im sanding now. Its getting shinny. I just have to raise my sand paper number and them bust out the dremel for the polish and ill clear coat it. it will be nice pics coming asap

What are your guys thoughts on the ID Max 12'. What do you think of the company. and is the sub more for big bass or sound quality? Would 500 watts of JL be enough. Found it for $358 on http://www.cardomain.com/item/IDSIDMAX12V3D4. Is there any where cheaper?

If i wired two sundown SAZ 1500D and strappem to 3.0K watts RMS @ 2 ohm and run two 15" mags, can i make it so the subs are only getting 2.2-2.4K watts? would that be just turning the gain down right? cus i wana run two amps but not power the subs at 3K more like 1.2 a peice. I hear this will be loud and clean and make people go HUH!

ok, so yesterday, i took out my cheapo 3.5" dash speakers and taped off the ends of the wires with electrical tape. now, my right door speaker is very quiet, pretty much not even working, and when i turn up my stereo, the music cuts out in my front speakers. is this a short? i assume it is but just checking i guess.

alright, so i finished up my box last night, and got it installed this morning. the box seemed heavier than what i expected, so after i put the sub in, i weighed it. it came in at 64 pounds. not a lot since the sub is like 20 pounds, but that box seemed heavy. on to business now....so far it sounds great. i could not believe how much of a difference the box made. it hits real hard, gets pretty damn loud, and holy chit LOW. it doesnt do any flexing, but when it hits, it moves the whole windshield at the top seam and the same with the back windshield. i can't get my rear view mirror to stay put and it is shaking my headliner. i dont have any rattles other than the bladder …

As you might be able to tell from the title I am looking for a pair of really good sq 6.5 comps. I've had MB Q "Q" series (terribly dissapointed) and a few other not so great coax's and cheaper separates. I've heard the JL XR series in my friends car as well as demo rooms and they seem hard to beat at that price but if the ZR's are far better I'll just buck up the $ and do it. Just heard lots of separates from Focal anywhere from 300-850 and I wasn't all that impressed. I liked the one's for 850 (165 K2P's) but I just didn't think they justified the cost. i have a 2002 lexus es300 same trunk and the new camrey i think. i'm thinking ported, tuned to somewhere around 28 or so. i have no idea really i'm not a box guy at all. same tuning if i use 2? i have a hifonics zues 1000d that does 1000@1ohm i want clean sound but i want lots of bass when the right song comes on so i can crank it. would it be better to get 1 or 2. if i get 2 can i get a better amp in lets say 6 months? us amps 1500@1ohm? i was going to get 1 but i see people posting about 450 watts on 1. will 1 sound cleaner then 2 at 1000@1ohm? how muhc louder will 2 be then 1? sorry for all the ? but i want to amke 100% sure what i'm doing. can i buy box plans from…

right now i have 2 12" alpine type-r's powered by a Viper 1200d amp. They are in a small sealed box. Would a 12" mag be better. i am looking for sound quality mostly, and spl only secondly. in a 01 jetta.

Ive had my 15" in a 4 cu/ft box ported to 28hz My friend has his XXX in a 3 cu/ft box to 34 hz I like his cuz it hits the lows nicely without distorting. My prob with the 28 hz at 4 cu.ft was some songs sounded horrible. What box would sound the best and get the lowest for rap music?

and i saw a 12" si magnum for 150 canadian there..but it looked like the dustcap was glued back on....and i know these retail for over 700 canadian new..i wanted to buy it lol even though i didnt have nothing to power it with yet
