Sup fellas, i think i might have a big problem, was inspecting my subs (2 fi btls 18"s) and noticed tiny tears on one subs spider, 3 of them 2-3 millimeters ea. when playing the subs hit hard, who knows how long they've been there, but i know i dont want them there, could i use some epoxy or super glue as a temporary fix, i know that they might need reconing (bought them the end of 08) but they both still bang hard plus they the old ufo model so i dont know if they even make recones for those any more. cant get new subs till after christmas so i need help.

I currently have 2 Hertz EBX-200R's running off of an ARC audio KS300.4 bridged to 350w rms per sub @4 ohms. I was wondering if it would benefit me at all to go to an Orphan 8? I'm not sure I can run the ARC's bridged @ 3 ohms, though, so I would have to check that (I know they DON'T recommend 2ohms bridged). These are in the trunk of my 2007 Maxima. I don't have a lot of space, as I didn't want to chew up my whole trunk with a sub box, that's why I went with the Hertz subs, because of the small box. How small of a box can I run the Orphan 8 in efficiently? Am I better off keeping the Hertz's, or is the Orphan a better sub? Any suggestions are appreciated.

looking at either 2 BM 10's ported or 1 Mag 12 sealed, i figure price will be about the same and box size shouldn't be huge issue. which would be a more efficient use of the power available?

Yep, splurged on the Civic. Any type of volume that allowed you to hear over the road noise was polluted by the slap of a limp dick suspension, so while at the world with me madre today I happened to walk through the audio section and saw some 5 1/4" drivers for somethin like $5.99. I had some radioshack 4" drivers a while back and they actually sounded somewhat decent, so I figured the same would hold true for these, at least somewhat. It didn't really... At least now in the mornings on the way to school, I can listen to the talk shows. I guess.

can anyone give me a recommendation for a ported enclosure for an Eclipse 8122. I can not find the spec sheet anywhere and Eclipse has been pretty much useless. right now it is in a sealed enclosure (~1.25 ft^3) running off a PPI PC2150(600x1 @4ohms). I am trying to squeeze a little more sound out of this woofer if possible. I listen to a wide range in music, (not sure how that would affect the desired tuning frequency.) thanks for the help

alright, just got a new car (96 accord LX coupe), and I am putting most of what I already got as far as equipment goes into it, but need a new sub. right now I have my DEH-P600UB in my rocky with the rear channels of my 475a powering a really cheap audiobahn (AW1051 I think) that I found from a long time ago in a sealed box thats around 2 ft^3. its wired to 8 ohms so there is only about 90 watts going to the sub now, and its not crazy or anything but it is (was) a decent amount of bass for what it was. anyways I started hearing it make a horrible sound at higher volumes, the surround is actually torn about 1/5 the way around now. I am planning on using the same amp but ge…

Well i got my two treo ssi 15's running off a us amp 2000. i previously had two powerbass xs 15's. i put them in my powerbass box, which was close enough to specs. i'm pretty impressed. with the treo's weighing in at what seems to be half the pbx's. they pack one hell of a punch. and i'm willing to say they are about 5 decibles louder. i'll get it tested this week to further persue my conclusion. great sound quality. and you can feel alot more air flow in my explorer. cheers. i'm now sellin my pbx's to a friend of mine.

Gday, First time posting and I really just want to ensure I have everything right before committing to this build. I have owned the MTX 9500 for some time but I feel its always been in boxes way to small for it and I never get the spl I would think out of a sub this size. I decided to design my own box now using subbox pro and wanted to make sure it was well large enough to work well this time. I will be using the Orion XTR2500.1Dz at 1600rms 2ohm. I am happy for other amp options to but its hard to find anything decent in Australia without forking out some ridiculous money. WI checked around for what internal volume and had seen some running at 3.2ft3 which is …

Not my install. I finally made my decision. Stopped draggin' my feet and sent Nick some money. I have a Magnum and a set of 302's on their way soon. I must say that Nick is very patient and awesome to deal with. Of course you guys know this already. Now I just need to get the Magnum hooked up to my PG t1200.1 and the 302's hooked to my PG t500.2. Hopefully this will be a system that I can live with for a long time. Done playing the what do I want in there today game, if you know what I mean.

I ask because I had messed a little with the older SPL's and the Mules, I have not heard the SPLX, also I am not sure where in their line up it is placed and if it was designed before or after the power acoustic buy out or if was developed by the remaining old SoundStream guys ? here is a picture of it: B)

I have one 12" fi ssd in a 2.5 ft^3 box, tuned ~32 hz. Im planning on getting the sundown 1200d v.2 with another 12" ssd. I'm thinking about attaching the new sub to the front of the current one, (so the cones are facing eachother), granted they'd be out of phase and far enough apart so the surrounds dont make contact. Im wondering if this will produce the same or worse sound quality than I'd get with a regular 5.0 ft^3 box for the 2 subs. This way, I could save what little trunk space I have left without having to make a whole new box. Should look something like this:
