  3. Hey gang, Exhausting all my options on pricing speakers - both subs and components. As the topic states, is it ok to buy speakers from "E store" vendors? They have language that state are "new in box", "never opened" etc.... I'm skeptice when it comes to buying electronics on line but these are speakers,.....but still concerned. What's your take? Any experience? If so, any references? Thanks for the help! E

I have a buddy who is about to make a purchase and would like a w6. He's wondering if the 13w6 is worth the extra $90 on egay. I don't have any personal experience with them, so what do yall say? Were going to go with either the JL spec sealed or ported, whichever sounds better on the amp he bought. What do yall with experience have to say? Any help is appreciated. Randy

Don't laugh too hard, but I bought my 2nd Gen SI D2 12" sub so long ago, I forget how I was going to wire it. What Ohm do I wire this at? I ask because I may move the amp I was originally going to use to my midbass and need to find a new sub amp for this sub.

I know most of you guys probably don't use Kicker, but I found an awesome deal from an awesome local seller for a pair of the Kicker RS 6.5 inch components and a Kicker ZX350.2 amp. No stores sell the higher models of Kicker gear so I was wondering how you think these components would be?

Hi I am about to install my SI sub. Its a Gen 2 SI 12" D2 sub. It will be part of a 4 way system looking like so... BG Neo3 Tweets In the pillars or kicks (not sure yet) Scanspeak 4.5" Revelators In the kicks Peerless Xls8" In the doors (1) Stereo Integrity 12" In the trunk. I have 50 Watts to the Tweets 150 Watts to the Scans 300 Watts to the Peerless 900 Watts to the SI Sub... All US Amp USA Series Power The SI sub will need to blend well with this setup, and will play from 65ish down. I need some ideas for box placement and what kind of box. I am willing to fiberglass so I was considering the side of the trunk behind the wheel well, or off the back of my seat fac…

  11. Hi all! My first post and got hip to this site from a fellow car club member here in Phoenix, AZ. My question is pretty basic and applies to my 1995 Chevrolet Impala SS. Here it goes: *cut and paste* * Mids & tweets in the stock location or mids in stock location and tweeter higher up? * Coaxials vs. Seperates? Advantages/disadvantages? * Rears: 6 x 9 in stock location or ??? <--I'm thinking medium grade just for fill in hopes of saving money and focusing it towards the fronts. * Front mid range size. 6.5 seems to be the favorite but can we go bigger? Perhaps 8"? Anybody do that? My expectations are easy. Clarity that won't break the bank. Ho…

I currently have 2 05' s12L7's running on a bx1605d in a 4cuft box tuned to 35hz. The box has the subs and port facing up. I have been looking at alot of different subs and decided to ask your opinion. I have about 5cuft for an enclosure after subs displacement and port area. What two 12"s or 15"s could I get that would sound better and get just as loud or louder preferably with the amount of space I have and my bx1605d? They will be in an 04 Toyota Tacoma Ext. cab. Thanx 4 any help.

I am just about set on a Sound Splinter RL-p15 and when i get money i was planning on ordering one.... BUT, a dealer just offered me a brand new Adire brahma for 300 shipped. I have read that the RL-p and Brahma are very comparable subs.... just use different technology. I have never heard either and dont think i would be able to hear either of them. So, I guess i need your guys help in deciding here. Which way should i go??

  15. As you might be able to tell from the title I am looking for a pair of really good sq 6.5 comps. I've had MB Q "Q" series (terribly dissapointed) and a few other not so great coax's and cheaper separates. I've heard the JL XR series in my friends car as well as demo rooms and they seem hard to beat at that price but if the ZR's are far better I'll just buck up the $ and do it. Just heard lots of separates from Focal anywhere from 300-850 and I wasn't all that impressed. I liked the one's for 850 (165 K2P's) but I just didn't think they justified the cost. Well who know's it all changes when you get it into a car anyway. PS I have plenty of power but I'm not doing kicks be…

  17. me and my cuz made 2 boxes...1 is ported and its ABOUT 3 cubic ft^3 tuned to 32 Hz...i say "about" cause minus the wood thickness, port displacement, and the subs volume its around 3. i dont have the exact measurements of the port right now the other one was sealed at 1.6 ft^3 my problem with it is its LOUD when you sit in the car but not when you're outside with both of these boxes. i didn't try it in my car yet cause i dont got wires hooked up yet but i tried it in my cousins 1995 ford taurus and we weren't happy about it and he didn't know why it wouldnt hit hard. he has a old garbage pioneer HU in his car but it should of still hit harder than it did. i mean when i he…

can anyone give me a recommendation for a ported enclosure for an Eclipse 8122. I can not find the spec sheet anywhere and Eclipse has been pretty much useless. right now it is in a sealed enclosure (~1.25 ft^3) running off a PPI PC2150(600x1 @4ohms). I am trying to squeeze a little more sound out of this woofer if possible. I listen to a wide range in music, (not sure how that would affect the desired tuning frequency.) thanks for the help

http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=14757 The girl blew her HWS 6.5's so im looking at new 6.5's. Must be bale to handle ~50wRMS minimum and be fairly efficent and sound good. Loud would be good to because while im swapping them out ill be putting in a 50wx4 amp i had lying around bridged to 100wx2 (turned down for the mids/highs) and the NX4400 is going independant for th assasin's which means 220w each. trunk dances with 55w each, i should gain ~6dB i love that smiley
