Subwoofers / Speakers

Hey gang, Exhausting all my options on pricing speakers - both subs and components. As the topic states, is it ok to buy speakers from "E store" vendors? They have language that state are "new in box", "never opened" etc.... I'm skeptice when it comes to buying electronics on line but these are speakers,.....but still concerned. What's your take? Any experience? If so, any references? Thanks for the help! E

IM tired of my crappy computer set up, im thinking of building my own as i colect pocket change, budget will probably be ~$50 for speaks and tweets and ill probably do one 8" or even a 6.5 for the sub. Any ideas? ive been skimming through partsexpress but i dont knwo what's worth it and what isnt.

I have a buddy who is about to make a purchase and would like a w6. He's wondering if the 13w6 is worth the extra $90 on egay. I don't have any personal experience with them, so what do yall say? Were going to go with either the JL spec sealed or ported, whichever sounds better on the amp he bought. What do yall with experience have to say? Any help is appreciated. Randy

Don't laugh too hard, but I bought my 2nd Gen SI D2 12" sub so long ago, I forget how I was going to wire it. What Ohm do I wire this at? I ask because I may move the amp I was originally going to use to my midbass and need to find a new sub amp for this sub.

I currently have 2 05' s12L7's running on a bx1605d in a 4cuft box tuned to 35hz. The box has the subs and port facing up. I have been looking at alot of different subs and decided to ask your opinion. I have about 5cuft for an enclosure after subs displacement and port area. What two 12"s or 15"s could I get that would sound better and get just as loud or louder preferably with the amount of space I have and my bx1605d? They will be in an 04 Toyota Tacoma Ext. cab. For everyone buying our new etreme subs, we had 3M develope a new adhesive that will handle 28 degrees more temp than the normal adhesives used by other companies. We actually spend almost $400.00 dollars a gallon for this glue. In the gift product box there is a break in period warning that states 40 hours. This is correct for the moving parts to relax but the recomended break in should be initally done in the first hour of the install. Play the syetem at 2/3 volume for 30 minutes to heat coil. shut system off and allow to cool completely. I know most of you guys probably don't use Kicker, but I found an awesome deal from an awesome local seller for a pair of the Kicker RS 6.5 inch components and a Kicker ZX350.2 amp. No stores sell the higher models of Kicker gear so I was wondering how you think these components would be?

I am just about set on a Sound Splinter RL-p15 and when i get money i was planning on ordering one.... BUT, a dealer just offered me a brand new Adire brahma for 300 shipped. I have read that the RL-p and Brahma are very comparable subs.... just use different technology. I have never heard either and dont think i would be able to hear either of them. So, I guess i need your guys help in deciding here. Which way should i go??

What is the recommended enclosure for the PBX XS15 with the 280oz magnet? What enclosure do these work best in? What sub would you compare these to?

Hey my friend just bought 2 pbx's like 2 months ago, running of an orion 1200watt amp, anyways they were made in 04 at least thats what the sticker says, one of the just stopped working, like today i was putting some damplifier in his truck and i wanted to see his subs and it sounded funny to me, ussualy you can't even tell well the one sub sounded as if you had a piece of plastic infront of it, i think it was just the wires inside the box could be wrong tho, also i noticed one of his subs wasnt hitting at all... took it out sure enough wire'd it at 1ohm and got nothing out of it.... is there any type of warranty on these, or would he be better off just taking it back to …

Loud would be good to because while im swapping them out ill be putting in a 50wx4 amp i had lying around bridged to 100wx2 (turned down for the mids/highs) and the NX4400 is going independant for th assasin's which means 220w each. trunk dances with 55w each, i should gain ~6dB i love that smiley

i have treo ssi 15s now, their the 2005 models. i get around a 143 at 30 hz now. i like disgustingly low bass at ridiculous sound levels.. but i am going to be putting a wall in my truck. i plan to use us amps, you cant change my mind on that. Anyhow feedback on subs would be greatly appreciated.

at the show i saturday i only did a 149.6 and thats on a term lab mic. i currently have the 2 in a 5. cube box after port displacement and before sub. my port is 5 by 14. im looking for a good all around loud box but i want it to sound decent. if anybody has any experience please post what worked best for you or any recommendations. thanks in advance.

can anyone give me a recommendation for a ported enclosure for an Eclipse 8122. I can not find the spec sheet anywhere and Eclipse has been pretty much useless. right now it is in a sealed enclosure (~1.25 ft^3) running off a PPI PC2150(600x1 @4ohms). I am trying to squeeze a little more sound out of this woofer if possible. I listen to a wide range in music, (not sure how that would affect the desired tuning frequency.) thanks for the help

i have a 12" solox pushed by titan 1500, sounds ok, i did 148db outlaw on audiocontrol.. the sub magnet is facing out of box, for looks, ALOT of people say that u will lose db.... how much db do u guys think u loose db with sub upside down.

if i have my system at 1 ohm, and my rise is 5 ohm and up, does that mean that i could run 1/4 ohm setup? and how much ohm rise is efected by voice coil heat?

Well I had a chance to get a sub I have long dreamed of buying at a price I couldn't refuse. It still made my bank account cry for mercy but as some of you know I'll do almost anything for audio Without further ado, her is my brand-shiny-new Aura NS15 Here it is with the IdMax.... kinda makes it look dainty Top view.... note different approaches to the same 24-25mm of xmax. Side showing cooling solution. This thing has a 4" voicecoil... and I guess that means it needs a 3.5" pole vent? Last we have the model sticker and one of the binding posts.... interesting design. Now I need to choose; car or HT?!

I'm interested in the TS-C720PRS component set, but don't have a dealer near to audition or buy from. Need a little help if someone is willing to go to the local shop and take a listen. Thanks.
