well i was bumping a bassmekanic CD with lots of fast beats and high pitch bumps. I bumped it for a good 45 min. I thought i smelled something But it wasnt like a strong smell of something Burning just smelled like a light hint of something I felt my subs and they where Warm But not Blazing Hot. Is it Normal for subs to gain some heat ? Was i abusing my subs ? I mean i did turn it down after I was just upset and started bumping my shit on my ride home.

Hello everyone! Was wondering if people could help me. I currently have the following... 2 12" JL Audio W3v2 2ohm 1 Rockford Fosgate T1000.1BD I built a 3.5 cu/in ported box for them and they sound fine. Problem is the box is the wrong dimensions for the 2008 Civic Si Coupe. My current available space is.. H = 15" W = 37" D = 18" preferably smaller Those are the MAX dimensions that will fit in my trunk. I am not worried about the opening to the truck as I will build the box in the trunk if I have too. What I am wondering is if anyone has a box build that would work for the SA 12's that would work for my Civic. Just need the outside box dimensions and port dimensions …

OK so subsonic filter how many hz do you guys set below tunning?

Ok so running two rockford p3 15's 2.5 cubic per sub still within Rockford specs of 1.86 to 3.0 cubes. Subs are d2 wired on a RF T1500BDCP at 2ohm so subs seeing a few hundred watts over rms should I be ok with subsonic off? Amps filter is 28hz with a 12db slope . A few people said because I went with closer to the large side I should use the filter but I'm not sure I lose a lot of low end with it on .

I'm getting a new Fit Sport and considering that its the premium sound i was just going to upgrade by intergrating a sub into it, problem is, i am picky. I dont want overpowering bass but i want to feel it, and it has to be clear. It will be a single sub setup of whatever size, since i have plenty of room *grand total of 41 cubes in the car* Have at this, i want to do it right on the first try this time.....

I'm looking to get rid of my Atlas and find something that will work within this situation: I have 450w @ 4ohms to power the sub, needs to work in an enclosure no bigger than 2.5 cubes gross (the smaller the better), I would like something that will play into the 20hz range as flat as possible, and I'm looking to keep the price of the sub below $150 (or whatever I get for the Atlas). Sealed or ported, as long as I can package the whole deal within 2.5 cubes, I'll be good to go.

I will be running 4000 watts when my other amp comes in and i have narrowed my subwoofer down to 3 choices. If youve had experience with these subs, please give opinions on which one would be good for me. It will be played daily with occasional spl competition use. After reading conversations about cones, spiders, baskets, vent plugs, poles, etc I was thoroughly confused. I'm sure some other ppl feel/have felt the same way. im thinking about buying four kicker l5 15 inch subwoofers. i sent kicker a e mail what size box i was wanting to put them in 16.04 cf inside. that would bring it to around 4.01 each subwoofer. i told them i wanted to port the box and they sent a e mail back this is what it said.shrink it down to 14 cf internal . this will have port and woofer displacement already caculated into it. give the box 160 square inch port opening and make the port 19.5 long into enclosure. seems to be to small for them what are you all thinking on this? what would that give the subwoofers after woofer displacement and the port they gave seems to small they also said it would tune it to 35hz

I have owned the MTX 9500 for some time but I feel its always been in boxes way to small for it and I never get the spl I would think out of a sub this size. I decided to design my own box now using subbox pro and wanted to make sure it was well large enough to work well this time. I will be using the Orion XTR2500.1Dz at 1600rms 2ohm. What are some non main stream brand subwoofers? like fi audio, or dd audio, or t3 audio. not like mtx or jl or kicker

I just ordered an Icon 10 last week. (which im really excited about) While checking my order status i came to find that during the phase awaiting shipment, that meant my sub was actually being built as i ordered it. This is new to me as the last time i ordered subs they were just shipped right to me off the shelf. I kind of like that my sub was made as i ordered it. Then i got curious as to the build process and after searching and not finding anything im wondering if anyone knows of a video or maybe a set of pictures that kind of gives you an idea of the build process of the actual subwoofer from start to finish. My subs chirp when my car is started but not when it is off but the head unit is on and i cannot figure out what it is. I checked the ground and that is good. Also, my power is good. Any ideas what it might be?

I currently have one x12 running on 400rms in a ported box tuned around 33 or so. I amhoping to purchase a hifonics brutus brz.1800 and i would like to increase my cone area aswell. I just dont know whether a ssd15 probably stock no upgrades.. Or 2 x10s when they come out... I would port it either way. And im hoping id have room... I would make my own box and id just make it fit... So what do you think? 10's or one 15? Btw imnot 100% set on fi... Just i do have experience and i was very happy. Hi from Bulgaria, everyone. At first I was going to buy one of the new Nightshades, but realized there will be some months till I get the money and I won't have any other sub to bang in my trunk. So I am looking for something cheap till I get the money for the NSv2. I am very tempted at the ongoing pre-order of Sundown Audio SA-8. I can get it here to BG for around the same price as Alpine Type-R for instance. My goal is a cheap sub that will bang loud and good for it's money. Sound Pressure ... around 35 Hz. What are your thoughts?

Well earlier this year i had a crossfire vr2000@1ohm around 3kw on a dd 9515g in a Pete K. designed t-line. I really like the output through a broad range of frequencies, and plan to do another t-line setup. However i think i could have made a better choice for woofers I have a 2006 nissan frontier (the bigger ones), have quite a bit of room if neccessary. Undecided on an amp to power it but will be at least 3kw with proper alt and batts. I have installed two sets of PG RSD6.5 comps with 100 watts per channel still running passive for now. i think the two sets of comps ran active would almost keep up with the system i have in mind. Its in a tiny tiny box, (maybe 5 cubes) and I know I need more space, but i cant make anymore in my trunk so I'm switchign it out! Here's what i have to work with. Sundown 1500D for my amp around 4.5 cubes, maybe upto 5 max if I need it biggest sub size i can fit in there is a 15" I don't really have a budget...maybe $400 max for the sub(s).
