Subwoofers / Speakers

i listen to mostly rock/metal and need a budget comp set with good midbass.. doors will be deadened with raamaat and have an mdf baffle.. budget is around $150. any suggestion?

i had a guy offer me his sa-15 (with or without box) and 2 rolls of audio wrap (15"x10' each) and some pieces of second skin damplifier pro and maybe a little bit of cash for my xl 12 (without box). is it worth it? can i flip the sub for some quick cash while using the deadener in my truck? if so or not so, how much would everything be worth that he is trading me?

at the show i saturday i only did a 149.6 and thats on a term lab mic. i currently have the 2 in a 5. cube box after port displacement and before sub. my port is 5 by 14. im looking for a good all around loud box but i want it to sound decent. if anybody has any experience please post what worked best for you or any recommendations. thanks in advance.

I am running an Audioque 3500d.1 to 2 DD3512e d4, if I run both pos and neg wire (with 8 ga.)one direct to each woofer (parallel) will this get me a little more wattage to each woofers? Currently I am running just one pos and neg wire (12 ga.)to the box and the woofer are ran parallel from there.

Im looking at some of the Audio Pulse (www.audiopulse.com) subwoofers and am just curious if anyone here has ever had one or knows somebody with one. Im just curious as to the quality and checking to see if there worth using or not? These are the ones im specifically looking at getting here.

What kind of watts does this thing need to be PERFECT, i mean reguarless of price i want a perfect sounding Mag D2. I have no idea on wattage, and im probaly going with a HIFONICS amp. So let me know how many wats and at what ohms im going to need if i orded 1 and if i even orded 2 15" mag d2??? THANKS!!!

Hi i new to the forum and the reason why im posting this is because i cant figure out which sub fit my needs..... I want a sub that has good sound quality so i was looking at the FI Q but i also want a sub that can hit hard as well... this is going in the trunk of a honda civic and im shooting for a size 15 maybe 2 15 but im not sure if 2 can fit in the trunk... also can anybody help me on considering good components...

Which sub has the capability of being louder for a daily scenario, no comps? Each sub will be run by a AQ2200d and two Yellowtop 1200d's.

I have a pair of BL 15 1ohm subs. I wanted to keep the subs at 1 ohm. So I should wire them on one side of the coil - to + then connect the + on one sub to the + on the other sub. Then the - on 1 side to the negative on the other side. then a + and a - out to the amp. But instead of the - to the + on the same side I have the - on one coil going to the + on the the other coil. Does it matter?

Ok, this is weird. I have an 18" Ascendant audio Sub. It has been working well for months since I bought it, however just recently while I was driving around (not bumping hard, just normal playing) it "stopped" working. There was no wierd sounds, static, it just stopped playing. I kept driving home since I figured the amp fuse might have blown or gone into protect mode , which would have been no big deal. However after looking at it, and testing it, I think the amp is fine. I don't have a DMM so I took a home stero speaker, wired it to the amp just to see if I got a sound from the speaker and it worked fine. I hooked up a meter to the coils of this sub and it reads 1.9 on both sides.. On the meter there is an Ohm section and its set at 200.. The picture is kinda blurry but you can get a good view on where its set at.. Can someone help me out on what coil configuration this sub is.. Its dual 2 ohm right? Heres the pics..

I am slowly getting tired of listening to my bootleg setup while i wait for the peerless hds tweeters to become in stock. Are there any other tweeters that anyone recommended/ had experience with that they feel would be a good 2 way setup with the sea excel mids. The peerless seemed to work well because they are capable of being crossover relatively slow since the excels have heavy breakup around the 1200 area. From all the research and reviews ive heard about the peerless they seem almost untouchable and i want something that is similar quality and performance and also price range. I need to decide on the speakers that will handle the top end of the audio spectrum. Here is what I have; my 18" Q with the BP option on a sundown 1500, the L8's from HAT will handle the mid, I have an older 4 chan v12 alpine, that should work, and if not... which will relaly piss me off... I'll need to get another 4chan, or 2, 2chan amps. I think the alpine gets about 45-65 per chan if I remember correctly, but I also seam to remember the rating was a good deal under actual benched amounts from when other people tested them. All right im usually roaming around the caraudio.com forums, but have been browsing here for awhile.... now im hoping someone here can help explain how my subs are blowing cause i cant figure it out. i had 2 dd 1508's hooked up to a Saz1500d, both Svc 4, so 2ohm load ~800wRms, Set the gain using a multimeter to a little bit below the voltage it should have been at for 800w to try to avoid any clipping from the amp. I recently have started the search for a crazy spl set-up . Along the way I stumbled upon these subs called SoundSplinter . Always being one to give anything a look , I decided to investigate . I was plesantly suprised at what I found . What seems to be a quality sub at an even better price . So that is why I came here . I am thinking of going with either 2 or 4 15's . So, ive known abt digital designs subs for a long time but have always thought that its all SPL and no SQ. A friend of mine recently got thier 3512 12" sub and told me that not only does it pound, but the SQ is nothing to be laughed at. He's a good friend of mine so I trust his opinion, but he lives in another state so I cant hear it for myself. Now for the match up... -in one corner, the digital designs 3512 ported with 1200 watts -in the other corner a mag 12" ported with 1200 watts now I assume that the DD sub would beat the mag in SPL (tell me if im wrong) but how much would the DD sub be lacking in SQ versus the mag any help, thoughts, comments, or opinions would be…
