Subwoofers / Speakers

Im looking at some of the Audio Pulse (www.audiopulse.com) subwoofers and am just curious if anyone here has ever had one or knows somebody with one. Im just curious as to the quality and checking to see if there worth using or not? These are the ones im specifically looking at getting here.

ok so if a quad coil 1.4 ohm sub has a bad coil how do you wire it to cut that coil out? is this possible...

ok, the difference in sound is pretty obvious, but whats the technical difference between making a sq and a spl sub? i mean if all speakers and subs work by the same principles, how is one more accurate than another? just always wondered that , thanks

ok I wanted to get a rl-i8 but they wont br in stock for a while so i found these AA Assassin Series 8"D4 and I have heard they r almost the same thing so...witch one do you think I should go with.

what are people getting into their doors ? i dont mind some cutting and whatnot, but i'm not looking to make a whole new door skin. i had hoped to get a set of 6.5 comps and a mid base in the door. the comps look easy enough , but where could i put the mid base ? would it be bad to put the mid base in the back doors? or under seats ? any pics would go a long way for me. thanks

I know it was mentioned in the "mag 15 pored for SQ" topic but I thought it deserved its own thread. Has anyone tried this or does anyone know of a good tutorial to make a transmission line box? Beyond being fairly large are there any other drawbacks to using them in a car?

Hi i new to the forum and the reason why im posting this is because i cant figure out which sub fit my needs..... I want a sub that has good sound quality so i was looking at the FI Q but i also want a sub that can hit hard as well... this is going in the trunk of a honda civic and im shooting for a size 15 maybe 2 15 but im not sure if 2 can fit in the trunk... also can anybody help me on considering good components...

Ok so i have a 10" alpine type E laying around and i have a 66 bug with an amp missing a sub. So i got this crazy idea of building a box for the sub to put in there. My question, I only build ported for personal reasons but i want to know what should i tune the box too? I'm giving it 1.5ft^3 internal space not counting sub or port. I was originally going to tune to 32hz, i like low bass but i know its only a 10 and not the best, actually i have no experience with alpine. I can only compare it to my RE Audio Sr10 which wasn't to bad with a 1ft^3 box tuned to 30hz in my other bug. What would you tune this sub too? powered by about 200wattsrms. ok so im starting to think that i should move up into class street b, just because there is more competition aorund here for that and im sick of not competing against anyone (that is except like a single 12" type r), so right now i have 1 12" fi audio bl in the trunk of a cavalier, tuned to 34 hz on 1800 wrms. what i want to do is be very competitive in street b for db drag. however i really want it to be a ground pounder and hit those lows, so i was thinking a 28-30 tune for daily and a 40-42 hz tune for comps. but what i really want to know is which ten inch subs should i go with? the ones that pop into my head are fi bl, fi q, dc sumthing, or audio que hdc3. i dont…

Alright guys i have a 99 monte carlo and the factory speaker size is 5.25" but i found very nice 6.5 speakers Image Dynamics CTX65CS i think for the price they are unbeatable but heres my questions is there any easy way to fit those into my car without any custom fabrication? alright in a ported box, where does the bass sound come out of? entirely the port.. or the port and the sub.. or what. im wondering cus im going to port my box into my rear deck and i need to know whether or not i need to seal the sub off into my car also. thanks.

I hooked up a meter to the coils of this sub and it reads 1.9 on both sides.. On the meter there is an Ohm section and its set at 200.. The picture is kinda blurry but you can get a good view on where its set at.. Can someone help me out on what coil configuration this sub is.. Its dual 2 ohm right? Heres the pics..

Ok, this is weird. I have an 18" Ascendant audio Sub. It has been working well for months since I bought it, however just recently while I was driving around (not bumping hard, just normal playing) it "stopped" working. There was no wierd sounds, static, it just stopped playing. I kept driving home since I figured the amp fuse might have blown or gone into protect mode , which would have been no big deal. However after looking at it, and testing it, I think the amp is fine. I don't have a DMM so I took a home stero speaker, wired it to the amp just to see if I got a sound from the speaker and it worked fine. I have a ssa 15" xcon in a 4.0CF box tuned to 29hz in the back of my wagon. Its hooked up to a hifonics 1610d amp which is rated at 1600rms at 1-ohm at 14.4v. I want any advice for adjusting this so my sub stops bottoming out on deep songs like bass i love you. I have tried the sub-bass filter but if i turn it up anymore those deep songs lose the deep bass that it can hit fine without bottoming out. its those notes below 25hz that bottom it out, but the sub-bass filter only has a 12db slope and it lets to much in. So what do I do? I don't want to wreck my xcon.

Sup fellas, i think i might have a big problem, was inspecting my subs (2 fi btls 18"s) and noticed tiny tears on one subs spider, 3 of them 2-3 millimeters ea. when playing the subs hit hard, who knows how long they've been there, but i know i dont want them there, could i use some epoxy or super glue as a temporary fix, i know that they might need reconing (bought them the end of 08) but they both still bang hard plus they the old ufo model so i dont know if they even make recones for those any more. cant get new subs till after christmas so i need help.

Set up for so far is Pioneer 9800 headunit, Sundown 100.4 amp, Morel Supremo Tweeter. Looking for a great mid driver now. I have looked at the morel ovations, seas, and the focal. Any suggestions? Budget = around 500 - 600. i just want a great speaker with amazing midrange and a solid midbass.
