ok i know ive bugged a few of you guys enough but before i go and drop 2000+ on a new system i want to make sure im getting something that will most defiantly be the loudest chit on the block. I am leaning way towards 2 18" btls fully loaded running off a RF t40001bd. what would you guys go with that will still maintain a decent sq and pick up lows fully without distortions.

I am looking to build a DIY 6.5 component set to set up in my car after I deaden the doors. I was thinking of using the Mli-65 mid but wasn't sure on the tweeter maybe these tang bands http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cf...tnumber=264-840 My real question was, regardless of components I pick, what is the best way to cross them over? I have a HPF option on the JVC HU at 55hz, 85hz, and 125hz, then my alpine amp has a HP/LP filter from 50-400hz.

  3. I'm still looking and agonizing over sub decisions. So many things out there.. I was thinking Fi SSD's, but I want other options as well. Here's what I want: Three 12", 4ohm DVC Good mix of SQ and SPL, with a bit more SPL $250 or less (preferably in the $200 range) Sealed box @ about 1.25cu ft per sub (net displacement) Someone suggested to me the new Hertz HX300's. Has anyone heard these? How do they sound, and how loud can they get?

Just looking for a little direction on a decent 6.5" component set, and maybe some 6x9's to match. They would be running off of a Kenwood eXcelon KAC-X40. I am currently running an Infinity Kappa series component set and 6x9's, and they are just too bright for me even with tuning on the amp and deck. In the past I have had success with Kenwood eXcelon speakers and silk dome tweeters, but I was just curious to know other good options within a $300 price range. My deck is a Kenwood DNX-5120, and my sub stage consists of a 12" AA Havoc running off of a Sundown SAE-1200D. This is all in a '08 Altima 3.5 SE. Thanks!!!!

  10. ok so i have two oz audio ME 10.4's one of which just got its dustcap ruptured during a move. it's a nice sized crack that spans the diameter of the cap, but it's not a hole. i've tried numerous times to contact oz to get a replacement to no avail [and i've heard they don't offer replacements after the warranty period anyways] so i did two things. first i epoxied the crack yesterday. second i found someone with an ubranded RE SR dustcap that seems to be the same shape sans oz audio imprint. pic of RE SR for reference: so my question is whether either of these modifications to one sub will alter the combined sound of both subs. i know you're not supposed to mix speakers t…

Hey all. Question, I'm looking at some component sets and have come across both Pheonix Gold RSDs and Arc Audio 600.6 sets and really like both. RSDs are $40 cheaper, but what do you think of arc audio? Are they worth the extra $40? Thanks Arc Audios Pheonix Golds

  15. Does anybody know the exact cutout for the Zcon 18"? I will be using a Jasper jig on my router. I know it says 16.75" but I thought I heard it was a bit smaller? They are not here yet and I need to cut my baffles. Thanks.

So, I had some extra 6.5s sitting in my garage and was hopin i could use those in my truck, turns out i would have to do some pretty major work to get them in there due to the way the door is built, so i think i will just go with some of the same size, some 6x8's....does anyone know any good 6x8s before i end up going with some RF power serier component 6x8s? thanks

  17. So i got a new clutch/flywheel put in my car. My mechanic put my old parts in my trunk which i forgot about. My sub doesn't have a grill and that box full of parts broke the 10" ssa dcon rubber surround and even the cone. I tried using silicone, but the sub sounds like crap! Can i get a new cone and rubber or should i start looking for a new 10"?

I just got a 2003 toyota celica gts and am set on getting a 12" SSA ICON D2. I am going for SQ and dont know whether to get a ported box or sealed. Also, I have heard that facing the sub up is a good idea in a celica because of the shape of the tailgate. Anyway, i need to know info on the box and what amp to get. My budget for the amp is about 150. Thanks for your time in advance.

  19. Started by extreme shock,

Maybe somebody on here could help me with this question I have, I have two Brahma MkII 12's and they sound good I have a JBL BP1200.1 per sub, at 3.2 ohms in a 1.7cf boxes for sub. I want louder so I want to know should I go with a bigger box and leave them at a 3.2 ohm load or should I bridge the amp and leave the same box or bridge and go bigger box also. the amp is rated at 1200x1 at 2 ohms and 600x1 at 4 ohms, So I figured that at 3.2 oms I am running close to the 600 watts most of the time. Could really use some help, Thanks

What's up SSA? Hoping I could get some advice from you guys. I need a sub for my boat, but I'm just not sure which one will be best for my application. I like everything I've read about sundown so I'm leaning in that direction. I had an 12" Alpine type R powered by an Alpine MRP500 in a crappy best buy enclosure...I took it out, and looking for more The new sub(s) primary purpose is to get girls to dance on the boat. Most of the music played will be fist pumping club music, e.g., house, hip hop, and some rock. I want the sub to be loud and have a violent punch if that's possible. I'm installing 8 Exile SX65c's 6.5" speakers powered at 100w RMS @ 2ohm each. I had 4 SX65c's…

Hey I am thinking about getting at least one sub for my car. I listen to almost everything. I am looking for something that will sound nice and not too hard hitting. I am looking more for sound quality than noise. I also would like to know what amp I should get to power it. Any help I can get will be much appreciated.

I am going to install the wire for my amp now so I can have a better idea of placement in the back of the expedition. I'm thinking about going with this kit just so it's simple. http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDetail.cfm?prodID=KFX-AK44 I'll be getting more wire to do the big 3, but there is some odd cabeling in there and I don't want to mess with that without some help from someone. Do you think that will be enough in feet to get from battery to back of truck, I'm going to measure tonight to know for sure but just to see if anyone else has done it. Also what fuse should I get. I'm also thinking of replacing the battery in the truck to something else... any suggest…
