Subwoofers / Speakers

Plan is to run one of these in a ported 1.0 box, My amp; Arc Audio 900.6, will put out 550 wrms bridged @ 4 ohms. How much of this power can I safely run to this sub?

I have a audio pipe amp 1300 amp rated at 300W RMS@4 Ohm (<1% Distortion) 600W RMS@2 Ohm (<1% Distortion) 1000W RMS@1 Ohm (<1% Distortion) and a sealed box for a 12" woofer at about 0.9 volume What sub would you guys purchase under 200$$ Link tp my build

Really would like a pair of IXL 10s but I'm not liking the D2 coils. Any chance of some D1 or D4s? Sure would make running a pair on the likes of a 1500D more enjoyable. I'm sure they don't need 750 each, but the headroom would be nice.

Welp, ive decided to ge rid of the chitty MDF look in my truck but all the funky bends in my ports is cutting back on my potential SPL and probably is adding a little noise at high levels though i cant detect it because of rattleing....so ive devided, new enclosure time while im sintalling some SPectrum and Damplifier in my truck along with some open celled acoustical foam (cheap stuff, not Second Skin's stuff) foam between the back metal and the plastic interior panel to help trap waves in that little area and padd the smacking between the metal and the plastic. ive told you all that because i want to eliminate any possible port noises and gain SPL by having the least am…

What would be the best enclosure for 2-12" IA Lethal Injections? What's the difference between ported and bandpass? I've seen the response curve of both. The bandpass seems to peak about 35hz and drop about 60hz peaks about 40hz and holds it. What is this telling me? Will the manual for the subs tell me the preferred box dimensions for these.

Im looking for two 15's that will do well in 4 cu.ft. sealed after all displacements, preferably on the cheaper side. Im not sure when the new icons are coming but i have 1 blown 15 that I could recone and buy another 1. Any advice?

I have been looking for some mid bass speakers and these caught my eye, I'm wondering if anyone out there has used them if so how did you like them? I would be using them in a 3way passive set as the woofer, crosser over points are 500hz and 3.5hz off a R/F P400-2. They are on eBay for what I believe to be a reasonable price. i need a subwoofer or two that will fit in a 2cu.ft. sealed box with 6 1/2" of mounting depth and i would prefer two 12's but i am open to all suggestions. i like it to be more spl , i no it is a ported box but i would like SPL over SQ so i need help plz

Been lookin at alot of subs lately, but should i go with 3 15's or 2 18's? the 15's would probably be the hd3c's the 18's would prolly be btl's or MT's -can get recones on my old btls -Mt's goin for 500 or so on ca/com hd3c's would be brand new going for loud ladies and gents, lol just lookin for others thoughts

hi, my freind that i wound up selling my xxx componot set to told me that they are making a mechincal type noise whenever they get past half volume. And he has them powering off of a sundown sax100.2 and set for 20volts at 2 ohms (200watts) now he left me them to mess around with them and i got them to not make the noise if i turn down the equalizer ( it's an alpine 9887) so was it just the speakers reaching their mechincal limit or should i tell him to start looking for new speakers. i already emailed re audio but have not gotten a response yet. thanks

is there any differance in sq or spl if u mount a sub out side the box vs mounted normal. going to build a box for a xcon 18 and is it doesnt really affect it id like to show off the basket and magnet . any help would be appreciated

I'll be running a pair of 12W6v2 in a sealed enclosure. I'm getting Alpine PDX amps for the system because they're great amps, I can get a great deal on them, and most importantly, they're SMALL. I'm not sure whether to run a single PDX 1.1000 to the subs, or run a pair of those amps, one to each sub. So the question is, should I just be running them at 500w each or 1000w each? It's a SQ system, but I guess LSQ is more accurate. The rest of the system (6", 3", 1" in the front, no rear stage) will be run by a pair of 4.150s.

I am still up in the air about what i want to do with the limited amount of space i have available in my car. i remeasured everything and i realistically have about 3.5 cu ft gross to work with. I am pretty decided on building a nice baffle and facing into the cabin with subs. not sure if i should port forward or into the factory 6x9 openings in the rear deck. If i port forward, i am not sure if i should go with aeros or slot it. if i did it through the rear deck i guess that i would have to do aero ports. Hi guys. I am going from 2 punch hx2 12"s ported in my is300 to a single 15 setup. I had a dd 2515 setup before and it wasnt that loud obviously only had 600w to it. I am looking for a 15" or something that will be louder than my 2 12"s with around 1200watts or a little more being pushed to it... Under 250 bucks.....??? ANy ideas

I am planning a new build and I want to run an active 3-way set up. I'm new to the whole active thing but have been told by more than a few people that building my own 3-way is the way to go. My available power is 50x2 rms for the tweeters 100x2 rms for the mids 200x2 rms for the midbass I am at a loss when it comes to choosing raw drivers. Any recomendations? Also will the fact that my amps are not made by the same manufacturer affect the sound?Or would I have to be superman to hear a difference?

Well after a lot of talking with Shizzz and screwing up not being able to fix the box in the trunk (and realizing I cant fit the box and the amp and the batts back there) I am thinking I am best to go to a single woofer. Now I was reading around and it looks like a single Fi BTL 15" can be used in a 3 cuft box. I am going to be throwing a SAX-3500D at a woofer by the way so I will be over-powering almost (I think) any woofer out there. But after talking to Shizzz some more he says that he recommends the level 5 12 at a minimal 2.5cuft box. I can do that seeing as the original box was about 5.5-6 cu ft.
