what is the best enclosure for this sub...? ported or what? and measurements if you got them to please... i drive a 2000 jetta, and i still want trunk space after putting this sub in too.

Hello everyone. I am looking to get your guys advice and see what kind of suggestions you have on subs. Right now I have a Phoenix Gold 500.2 Amp benched at 530 watts. I was running 2 12" Image Dynamic ID's. 4 Ohm. I am running just a standard box that was sold to me where I bought the subs. Unfortunately, I have blown both of the 12" ID's. I am not sure how because I never turn the Amp all the way up and never mess with the settings on my head unit. Maybe just cause they are 3 years old. I am wondering if you guys think I should go with 1 high quality 12" sub or just go with 2 12" subs again. I am not really looking to be super loud. I just want something that so…

I have a pair of BL 15 1ohm subs. I wanted to keep the subs at 1 ohm. So I should wire them on one side of the coil - to + then connect the + on one sub to the + on the other sub. Then the - on 1 side to the negative on the other side. then a + and a - out to the amp. But instead of the - to the + on the same side I have the - on one coil going to the + on the the other coil. Does it matter?

Ok, this is weird. I have an 18" Ascendant audio Sub. It has been working well for months since I bought it, however just recently while I was driving around (not bumping hard, just normal playing) it "stopped" working. There was no wierd sounds, static, it just stopped playing. I kept driving home since I figured the amp fuse might have blown or gone into protect mode , which would have been no big deal. However after looking at it, and testing it, I think the amp is fine. Alright, as the topic says, I'm looking for a component set for my Thunderbird. I currently have a pair of Infinity Kappa coaxial speakers in it. They are 6x8 and that is what my bird is designed for. I'm looking to spend no more that $250 on a set. They will be powered by a RF P400.4 amp. I have no problem fabricating some MDF size reducers if necessary. This is my only place of reference really, and I trust most all of your opinions. I hooked up a meter to the coils of this sub and it reads 1.9 on both sides.. On the meter there is an Ohm section and its set at 200.. The picture is kinda blurry but you can get a good view on where its set at.. Can someone help me out on what coil configuration this sub is.. Its dual 2 ohm right? Heres the pics..

So there's way too many new products coming out and I don't know what I want to try. I want a good clean sounding system, but I'm a bit of a bass head and do like to crank the bass. I have a Q12 sealed in my other car and like the sound and how low it goes, but I want to look at other things. I drive a Magnum and could get two 15's or something big no problem, but other than lots of bass my goal is to stay low profile so I still have cargo room AND i'd like to keep the spare. So I'm thinking either in floor low profile or something that only comes slightly out of the floor. Monday turned out to be nice so I decided that I would tackle the task of removing the rear speakers.I cant believe the buzzing & rattling that was caused by all the bass being trapped in the trunk.Well I must say theres a big difference ,I feel alot more bass coming in and filling the cabin.Just incredible what 1-12 can do if installed correctly and given the right power.It took me 1 1/2 hrs to remove the deck speakers and if I wanted to put them back aleast the process would go alittle faster(I hate molding fasteners).Anyone with a '02-'04 Camry needing help with an installation,Holla,I'm ur boi!.....I think I need a massage :thud:

Hey guys. I have the Kenwood Excelon X1R amp and am looking for some new subs to put in the trunk. I have really been looking at AudioQue. I like the way there stuff looks and the prices. Its looking like 2 12 Sdc2.5's in a ported box (if the room is available). I was wanting to see any other suggestions for 2 12s in the range of 300-350 and also wondering who has had experience with these and if they were loud for spl. Thanks

Right now I am running 2 polk momo 12's single vc, in sealed 1 cube boxes behind my seat. I am thinking of switching to 1 12 in a ported box and adding 2 8's for some more midbass. I dont have the room to port both subs. The sealed box are fine but I listen to a wide range of music, sometimes they dont hit the low low notes as well as I want them. I was just wonder if there was any suggestions about the quality of sound or should I just suck it up. I dont want to cut the back wall or anything, though I am thinking about modding the rear speaker spots on the wall behind the door/ seat for the 8's. I have a good sound for the most part it s just hitting the hard low notes…

I have been looking for some mid bass speakers and these caught my eye, I'm wondering if anyone out there has used them if so how did you like them? I would be using them in a 3way passive set as the woofer, crosser over points are 500hz and 3.5hz off a R/F P400-2. They are on eBay for what I believe to be a reasonable price. about how many dbs will a single lvl 4 hit off of 1000w rms? (in a ported box tuned to 32.5 hz) just a ball park estimate ??

ill do the best i can to explain. my buddy just got some memphis subs the mclass 12s he has about 400 watts going to each the day after he got them one started smoking and then quit it still works but makes a clicking noise i took it out and took a look at it but didnt see anything wrong does anyone know what this could be?

i have one type r running at 2 ohms at 500 rms....its in a ported box with the sub facing the inside of the car with the seats down....can anyone give me any suggestions to make it louder or just anything to make it better

This is just a question out of curiousity. In the past I had a few different pair of sealed 12s. I have had Orion P12s, JL W3D4 12s and now SSA dcon 12s. IMO the dcon 12s don't get that loud sealed. The P12s & W3D4s I had were louder (I know the dcons may own either ported). Kicker subs also tend to be capable of getting loud sealed. What other pairs of 12 inch subs tend to get loud and sound good in the 500 watt power range sealed?

I've been trying to find a set of component speakers with good sound quality and that can get LOUD...if thats possible. I've been looking closely at two sets: -RE Audio XXX 6.5s *Power Handling: 150 Watts RMS *Impedance: 2 Ohms -Pheonix Gold RSD 65cs *Power Handling: 60 watts RMS *Impedance: 4 Ohms Ive seen many threads that promote the PG's but im just wondering if the RE's would be a better buy? The RE's are quite a bit more expensive...but also have a higher wattage. Thanks!
