how safe would i be overpowering the mj-18 from mach 5 by 200wrms. what would be a safe amount?

Right now I have an Icon 15 in 3.5 cubes tuned to 34hz being powered by a JBL GTO 1201.II amp that puts out 1100 watts at 2 ohms and it sounds good. How would a FI BL 15 sound in my current box with my current power? I know they get louder than the Icons but do they sound good? If they have decent to good SQ I might want to swap in favor of more output, that's if my amp and box would even be good for the BL.

ok i got an l7 10" and thinking about sending it back and getting a different one, i got to looking at the fi q 12's and i really like them just not sure if they will get loud enough for me, and i was also lookin at the crossfire bmf's any sugegstions on what i should get??

Hi all, As per my newbies post, I've been hanging around for some time, and have now registered to enjoy the full support and knowledge of the SSA members! The sub and box size are not optional here, that's all I have to play with. For power I have 1400 @ 1 Ohm, 625 @ 2 Ohms or 312 @ 4 Ohms. I was dead set on an Audiopulse EPIC 8, but have not been able to find one for love or money! So now I have a real dilemma... simply put, which sub should I buy? I am looking ultimately for SQ, but do want it to get loud whilst retaining that SQ. I have looked at the SoundSplinter, TREO SSi, MA Audio, Elemental Designs, Digital Designs, Image Dynamics, Eclipse and RE to name but a few…

Alright guys i have a 99 monte carlo and the factory speaker size is 5.25" but i found very nice 6.5 speakers Image Dynamics CTX65CS i think for the price they are unbeatable but heres my questions is there any easy way to fit those into my car without any custom fabrication? i have yet to decide on a new front stage, i have a pretty beefy set up /w eu's in the rear and a w6v2. was wondering what comps would do well with 70 watts goin to em. i was lookin at focal polyglass 165v2's and rainbow slc 265's. the focals have high sensitivity, so i know they'll be loud enough to be heard /w my rear stage. any reccomendations are welcome, the doors will be deadened, so midbass response will be better. also, where's a good place to stick the tweets? cant build kick panels cuz i have a foot e-brake, and i use it. thanks a lot for the help

Ok guy i need some input, im going to be running a LVL 4xl 18 in my 2008 HYUNDAI ACCENT hatchback and want to know what config you would use on the box subs up port back or what?Also how many cubes should the box be 8-10 i want this box to play low but not to low, ie (GROUND POUNDER) My main goal is for the box to reek havoc on my car.

first off, thx to all who helped me. i believe ive reached a decision..for now. i have a 02 ram single cab and dont wanna sacrifice sq. therefore, i will remove my center seat in order to create more clearance and air flow to acommodate a Crystal CMPx2 12. my front stage will consist of Pioneer Premier TS-C720PRS comps powered by a Zed Audio Gladius Burr Brown amp. Questions: 1)does ne1 think that a 12 is too much for my application? cause my friend insists it is and 2 8's r best for sq but i dunno bout that. 2)has ne1 used ne of these products? 3)What do ya think of this combo? thx in advance

So I run 2 Pioneer TS-W3002SPL's and now one sub has a horrible mechanical noise at low Hz Cycles and overall chopped and screwed music. I know i fucked it up but is there any specific reason why my sub is broken. They are 1000 RMS subs and I was running them at 300 RMS off a Sundown SAE-1200d at 2 Ohms so the only reason could be massive clipping. One of the subs is still fine though and I don't want to ruin that one as well. What happened and is there any way to fix what I did?

Hello all, I'm in the process of designing a box for my 99 grand Marquis. One zv4 15 d1 running of a bc3500 @2 ohm for now, until I get a new alternator soon, then will do.5 ohm. The two options I have with the space available would be 3.5 cubes net with 60"port volume and 36.5"length. This would give me ~32 hertz...I think. Or 3.75 cubes net with 38.5" port length to give me ~30 hertz. So my question is, if I go with the bigger box with the lower tuning, will I lose allot of output in the top end? The sub will be firing up with the port firing back. I also cut out behind the arm rest and took the speakers out rear deck to let more air flow Through

i looked on the SI site and didn't see any pics. how do i wire it for 1 Ohm? the 15 D2 looks like a beast i hope everyone around me can feel it

im really impressed by how well everything showed up at my house. Ive bought from Fi and from Massive Audio and their packages arrived in a pretty battered condition. the boxes for my MJ's looked new. and with the triple box package the sub and paperwork looked like it hadnt moved since the box was taped up. thanks for the great service mark

Which subs will be best for a loud/daily combo off of about 4k watts per pair? I'm going to be tuned around 28~30hz and want it to be stupid loud! My amp is IA 40.1 and I have 8 cubes net to work with. Thanks

My IXL's are getting delivered today, on the SSA site it says 800wrms, on the Mach 5 site it says 1000. Which is correct?

Hi everyone. I currently have two 12 mags in a sealed box, but I wanted to try ported just for fun. My friend is selling a 3.6 cf box tuned to 30 hz without any chambers for cheap. IS this bad for a pair of magnums, or does it sound reasonable? I know that the only way to find out is to actually hook it up and listen to it, but I just want some opinions before I actually buy the box. It was originally made for a pair of JL audio subs by Tweeter. Thanks guys.

ok so i have two oz audio ME 10.4's one of which just got its dustcap ruptured during a move. it's a nice sized crack that spans the diameter of the cap, but it's not a hole. i've tried numerous times to contact oz to get a replacement to no avail [and i've heard they don't offer replacements after the warranty period anyways] so i did two things. first i epoxied the crack yesterday. second i found someone with an ubranded RE SR dustcap that seems to be the same shape sans oz audio imprint. pic of RE SR for reference: so my question is whether either of these modifications to one sub will alter the combined sound of both subs. i know you're not supposed to mix speakers t…

I've been meaning to ask anyone on here if they can help me out with a noise problem with my speakers... It doesn't matter what speakers are hooked up to my amp, they start thumping rapidly when I have the engine off in my car and the key is in accessory. I turn up the volume from my head unit just to get some bass going and then when I reach a certain volume my speakers start thumping rapidly and it's not the music that's bumping because I'll play a slow song and then when I turn up the volume at a certain level where my speakers don't like it, they go crazy. When I'm driving around and play my music at that certain volume it's fine. It's only when the engine is off. I …

I need to build me a new Box for my Mag 15 (sorry for your loss Nick hope everything is replacable). What size should I go with ?? It is in a 2.0cuft sealed box now and I think that is a little to small for it.

Hello, i have been hearing many good things about the MAW subs, but i would like to know how they compare to other subs. I have owned INfinity kappa perfects, Perfect VQ, ED K series(original, and v2), and currently i am running an SS RLP 12. How does the output compare to these and others such as IDQ, or the current ED k series, since those can also run in small boxes for a 15. Also, since the Qts is so small on the MAW 15, can it run in a smaller box than the 2.2 sealed and 3.0 ported with good results?
