As many of you know, I was looking around for a high excursion 18" driver with a relatively high efficiency, low inductance, mid Q and low Fs for primarily IB use at a price of around $300 and couldn't find anything that combined all of my criteria. So, I got ahold of Adire to see what they could cook up. Info is down below. They "quoted" me a cost of around $250 per driver for an order quantity of 12. Plus shipping and a little give and take of the rough cost.........For now I'd say that one would run around $325 shipped to the lower 48 states (may be a little on the high side, but I'd rather over-estimate than under-estimate). Well something came to mind after looking at the SI's box recomendations. I am a SQ guy so the 1.5 cu ft box sealed sounds best to me. At 1.5 cu ft, that is almost 1/3rd of the size of the box that is currently in my car! I have a 4.4 cu ft box for a single MTX sub now. Anyway, The system I am replacing is the first single sub stereo I ever made. Needless to say, I only bought 1 SI Mag12" to replace it. However I am wondering now, should I consider a second sub? I will be running a US Amps USA-300x Rated at 900 watts at 4 Ohms at 12 Volts. Can this amp power 2 of these is some way? This dual 2 ohm voice coil stuff is kinda new to me. Ok, I just got a long e-mail from the guy I bought my USA-600x from. He asked what my system was like, so I told him, and he claims I have way too much power! He quarentee's me that the USA-300x I plan to put on my sub (SI D2Mag 12") will blow the sub for sure, and that the 600x will murder my CDT ES520 set! This is his quote... Alright, so my new project truck is coming along (by coming along, i mean its not running and i'm tearing the interior apart). Anyways, i'm trying to piece together an SQ setup in my head and this is what i have so far. Headunit: some type of indash dvd player (leaning towards the kenwood 717) Speakers: front stage only: RE RE components, and a midbass (XXX 6" or dayton RS 7") all the speakers in door pods Speaker amp: MTX blue thunder 400x5 (dedicated sub channel to power the midbass if necessary). subs: its gonna be ridiculous sub amps: lots of them Now, for the problems. I am looking for a 15in Mag, 2nd Gen, in good shape. I would post this in the sale forum but i think there is a problem with it. I may comsider a newer one but i think its out of my budget. Also should i go one 15in Mag or two 12in Dayton MKIII?

Unfortunatly I can't take any credit for the design of this box (but Decware.com can) I only take credit for 12 hours of labor building the thing. Keep in mind this is for a HT Those are a pair of a/d/s/ 3 series, sweet little drivers but I'd like to see some RLI's in there. I am a new owner of a SI D2 Mag 12" Version 2 subwoofer. I need help with a box. This sub will play 65Hz and down and will be powered by a US Amps 900Watt at 12 volts amp. My car runs at 14.6 Volts. The rest of my system will be this. CDT ES520's in the kicks 150 Watts. CDT EF8's for midbass on the doors 300 Watts. The ES's will play 250 Hz and up. The EF8's will play 65Hz to 250 Hz. The SI sub will play 65 and down. Everything will be powered by US Amps. I am a SQ guy, so at first I would say I am looking for a SQ sub box design. However I have to ask , if I have 8's up front doing the midbass, and the SI sub is only doing 65Hz and down, will SQ even matter? …

Ok guys here's a few pics I have of the current box I just got done wit hfor the mag's. 3.5 cubes after port and displacement tuned to 28hz On a side note this was built with a circular saw and a jig with the aid of a 3/8 dewalt drill. Next time I'll get ahold of my friend with a cabinent shop.

I heard that the powerbass 3000 and hollywood 3000 are the same amp? Can anyone shed some light on this? Thx Alex

Has anyone used this woofer yet (PR12D)? How much power can it take? How much power does it need to get moving? What size box did you put it in, etc.? Where can they be found and how much do they cost?

i was told today that DLS stuff really went downhill the last few years. way back when, they had the support of Morel makin thier speaks, and genesis makin the amps. when DLS decided to cut costs a little, they went to china and showed them chinos the design of thier stuff, and the chinese copied it. When Morel and Genesis heard what was goin on, them 2 companies cut thier production for DLS. so like 02-03 on, DLS's equipment isnt really as good quality. Is this true?

Well usually when I'm at a stop light I turn my sub off so I don't annoy anyone. But some other guy was blasting his bass at the stop light. So I figure why not embarass him or give him a taste of his own medicine. I crank my 15" way up and a matter of seconds later he stopped playing his. Then when I stopped playing mine he tried turning his up and so I cranked mine up and left it cranked up. It was pretty fun. Wasn't anywhere near my house so no worries of getting ripped off. The best part was the guy was probably running 2 10's or 2 12's as he had blazer style truck and couldn't keep up. By the way, don't know if I posted this or if I thought about posting it, …

What's going on. I'm looking for some advice. I have been looking at Elemental Designs 6000s comp and 9.2 amp. Does anyone have any experience with them or have any advice they want to give to me about them cause I have seen mixed feelings between forums. Thanks for the help.

I ahve a ford explorer 96, which im going to put 1, 15" mag d2 in for now and then another one later after the rest of the install stuff is done, has any one ever stopped using the filler rear speakers? Im planning on puting two sets of comps in the front and a 4" comp set in the panels where the roll bar is, so the back is useless? would this sound ok?

Did anyone ever compare the old Magnum vs the Rl-p ?? I doubt the D2 has been compared. Just wondering if a pair of d2 15s w/ a 20.1 will pound on my pair of rl-p on ~1500. Ported :-D.

I have got two Precision Power 10" Flat Piston subs at 400W rms each. Recommended box type? How about for a single 10"? They're going in a honda civic trunk.

Is this a good idea or no? I have a bandpass box for 2 12's and I just grabbed a couple W-6's Dual 6-Ohm subs and was wondering if anyone had some advice on whether or not to put them in this banpass box. There is a divider in the box so they will both have there own enclosure with 2 ports a piece. I have no idea if these subs can go or are even recommended for this type of box so I know someone on here knows or has tryed this. Anybody who has put W-6's in a Bandpass enclosure please let me know if it sounded ok or what. THanks ANY ADVICE? NEED HELP!!!!

I am looking at the DD 9500 series or the Death Penalty series by Incriminator Audio. If anyone knows of anything better for around the same price as these two then please post it here.
