Hey guys. I noticed the prices dropped a little bit on the new TC Sounds drivers. The LMS-R 12 is now $269. Anyone here have any experience with the newer TC drivers? I know the old ones were well praised. How would the lms-r compare to an Icon? I am just always curious and noticed the price and I just started thinking.

Alright, so I've been running a tcsounds tc10 in just a small sealed box for some time. Although this beefy lil thing sounds awesome sealed, I have been planning on doing a ported setup. Since passive radiators are the best way to "port" my sub, last week I finaly buckled down and picked up one of their matching passive radiators from their closeout sale so I could start my new enclosure. Now to my question.. For those of you who have this combo, what airspace are you working with, and how many washers are you using?? I've spoken with a tech who gave a recomendation, but I would like to hear from any of you to see what sounds best in your oppinons! Of course the soone…

ok maybe not so spyish, but what the heck, I had a camera and i was bored. I took an AVI of the 54 with a strobe light, its probably one of the coolest things to look at if you are into high excursion design. Its literally like watching high excursion in very slow motion. I have to edit the video, but I'll post it soon. TC3k next to an LMS-54 proto. (the 3k is 46 pounds and thats the small one) The cursed RE 4" vc desytoryer we tried to recone twice, this one is waiting a third top assemlby tomorrow. No more fixing RE's, lol. the 5400 is on the right again.

So, I'm been itching to build. But I still cant come up with a good design for the Uberwoofer for HT use. By HT use, I mean an F3 <25 and a lowpass ~40. Action movies. heh. Any way you slice it, no more then 600rms to throw at her. Thinking BIG Ported (although it's not easy to hide in a liviing room). 6.0ft^3 net, (3) 4" aeroports, tuned to 20hz. Gives me a nice knoll around 30-50hz, flat ~25 - 30, and an F3 around 18. -or- Maybe a dub tuned BP? 6ft one side, 2ft the other... small peak from 22-30 then steep roll off till 42ish on the high side and a low end f3 of 19ish. -or- A... nah, I dont have room to make a proper horn. I don't like TL's much. At least, I didnt …

right now i have a 15" TC Sounds LMS-5400. when i bought it i was looking for very clean and loud bass. the LMS-5400 is without a doubt the nicest sounding subwoofer i have ever heard, but now i want to go even louder. i don't really care if the subwoofer sounds increadibly clean and undistorted because i'm just looking for more output. I was looking at either the 18" TC Sounds TC5200 or the 18" FI BTL. What should i get?? any input would be appreciated!

Scooped this up for $40, thought that was a decent deal. Its a 12 and originally a dual 2. Id like to get a quality recone kit for it. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Id like it to be a dual 1.4 with attached leads and as close to stock as possible, unless there's reasons I shouldnt. itll be used for daily listen, ill be runnin a sundown sae 1200 @ 1 ohm to it in a 2 cu ported box tuned to 32 hz. I have a 12 spoke basket I could use if that gives me different options; more excursion?

I am putting in an infinite baffle sub and trying to decide on the drivers. Which one of these drivers would be best for this application? Also, I am trying to get a handel on how much is enough. I made a pair of Housewreakers by Decware several years ago and put in 2 pro drivers by Emmince in each cabinate. I doubt whether the SD on all 4 drivers was even 2. The RL-P15 has a SD of over 4. Does this mean that one of these drivers is going to put out 2x the low bass as my 2 housewreakers? Thanks, Jim

IM buying an eD Flatcone for 90bucks shipped. Im planning on pucking around with it, blowing it, then sending it off to RE or Inhuman. RE says they will recone it with SX or XXX softparts to w/e size i want for 100 bucks. Me thinking 18" and compare it to my Ava in output and clarity. If its better the Ava will be reserved for HT usage, if its worse i will either sell it or reserve it for HT usage (depending on my findings). My question is how do you think this will sound/how loud will it get. i know the TC9 is a great motor and the OE driver has 34mm of Xmax (??) i think but the OE surround limits it to 24mm of excursion though. My other question is wether to go with XX…

From my post on the meca official team smoke xtreme thread Guys i would officially like to welcome Stereo Integrity on board with Team Smoke Xtreme for the 2006 season. Nick is gracious enough to give us great drivers, unlimited tech support, as many recones as needed, and all and all a nice friend in the industry. All team members shoudl consider switching to these drivers since Nick is going to try and support our ENTIRE team. Members of the team are not required to use these subs, but are ENCOURAGED to. Mr. Lemmons is a great guy to deal with and is decently close to the core of the team. He is located in Mooresville, NC. I personally drove to his houe to pick up my 12…

I guess I don't know much about this subject. I did a quick search on here and didn't find all the info I was looking for on the questions that I've had lately. To my understanding, it's just the natural frequency of the sub. I'd like to know a little more than that. Recently I saw a topic where some 8's with ~38hz FS were for sale and someone described them to play really low on music, how nice they are for music, on and on. I didn't know if these subs were meant to play lower than 38 hz or if those people just called +38hz 'low'. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the FS is 1 frequency and not including the + and - frequencies (to some small extent) meaning that the sub can p…

Doing a temporary install in the G35 coupe and i am trying to figure out which will work out the best in given space. As some of you know the trunk is extremely small. So far as i know, nobody has ever installed a 15 in there and 10's are about the most that will fit without pulling out the spare tire, tools etc. which i really don't give a damn about anyway So the amp running them will be an MTX 81000d. Rated 1000rms @ 1ohm, 12.5 V so figure on a maximum of 1000-1100 rms real world output Options are as follows: 1) Rockford T210d2 - Box can be about 1.8-1.9 net, with around 40 sq inches of port tuned to about 35hz 2) Adire Brahma 15" - 2.0-2.3 cubes net, sealed 3) Rock…

This is one of my Fi X 12's that I've recently burnt the leads on, and I'm in the process of repairing it. Its hard to see, but in the last pic i have the tensil leads unsoldered and the copper leads from the coil ready to be soldered to the new tensil leads. I paypaled the money for the leads and dustcap to Fi so now im waiting for them to come in!!

well, being who I am (very inquisitive by nature) I constantly find myself loomking at audio equipment, and as such, I always wonder to myself, hey that would be neat to have etc... So, I keep looking at 15 inch subs lately for some reason, and more specifically, at the RE SEX15D4, has anyone on here have experience with it? I just may, and a big "may" be able to convince the wife to let me buy one..... maybe... It'll be powered by a JBL GTO 601.1 amp. Again "if I can convince the wife" Thanks for the advice in advance, even if it is for naught...

It's a whole lot worse with 3 subs hooked up. Measuring at the amps, I can get a 6ohm or more even fluctuation.
