Here it goes, I finally got back into town and off my butt and am installing my front stage. After a month of looking at the compromises, I have decided to go with tweeters in the A-pillar (Alpine D2904/610001) and to mount my SEAS (W18E001) in the kicks. Being my car is a 5 speed I couldn't lose much foot space either so the directional mounting won't be optimal, but surely a lot better than stock! Ok guys here's a few pics I have of the current box I just got done wit hfor the mag's. 3.5 cubes after port and displacement tuned to 28hz On a side note this was built with a circular saw and a jig with the aid of a 3/8 dewalt drill. Next time I'll get ahold of my friend with a cabinent shop.

Has any one ever made a wall out of 15 mag d2s? how did it work out...

Has anyone used this woofer yet (PR12D)? How much power can it take? How much power does it need to get moving? What size box did you put it in, etc.? Where can they be found and how much do they cost?

What's going on. I'm looking for some advice. I have been looking at Elemental Designs 6000s comp and 9.2 amp. Does anyone have any experience with them or have any advice they want to give to me about them cause I have seen mixed feelings between forums. Thanks for the help.

i was told today that DLS stuff really went downhill the last few years. way back when, they had the support of Morel makin thier speaks, and genesis makin the amps. when DLS decided to cut costs a little, they went to china and showed them chinos the design of thier stuff, and the chinese copied it. When Morel and Genesis heard what was goin on, them 2 companies cut thier production for DLS. so like 02-03 on, DLS's equipment isnt really as good quality. Is this true?

Well usually when I'm at a stop light I turn my sub off so I don't annoy anyone. But some other guy was blasting his bass at the stop light. So I figure why not embarass him or give him a taste of his own medicine. I crank my 15" way up and a matter of seconds later he stopped playing his. Then when I stopped playing mine he tried turning his up and so I cranked mine up and left it cranked up. It was pretty fun. Wasn't anywhere near my house so no worries of getting ripped off. Alright, so my new project truck is coming along (by coming along, i mean its not running and i'm tearing the interior apart). Anyways, i'm trying to piece together an SQ setup in my head and this is what i have so far. Headunit: some type of indash dvd player (leaning towards the kenwood 717) Speakers: front stage only: RE RE components, and a midbass (XXX 6" or dayton RS 7") all the speakers in door pods Speaker amp: MTX blue thunder 400x5 (dedicated sub channel to power the midbass if necessary). subs: its gonna be ridiculous sub amps: lots of them Now, for the problems. I am a new owner of a SI D2 Mag 12" Version 2 subwoofer. I need help with a box. This sub will play 65Hz and down and will be powered by a US Amps 900Watt at 12 volts amp. My car runs at 14.6 Volts. The rest of my system will be this. CDT ES520's in the kicks 150 Watts. CDT EF8's for midbass on the doors 300 Watts. The ES's will play 250 Hz and up. The EF8's will play 65Hz to 250 Hz. The SI sub will play 65 and down. Everything will be powered by US Amps. I am a SQ guy, so at first I would say I am looking for a SQ sub box design. However I have to ask , if I have 8's up front doing the midbass, and the SI sub is only doing 65Hz and down, will SQ even matter? …

Well, I have not had experience with either driver but, what do you guys think I should get? Which will sound better and get louder? I have not decided what amp to use yet... Maybe an AX1000D

I ahve a ford explorer 96, which im going to put 1, 15" mag d2 in for now and then another one later after the rest of the install stuff is done, has any one ever stopped using the filler rear speakers? Im planning on puting two sets of comps in the front and a 4" comp set in the panels where the roll bar is, so the back is useless? would this sound ok?

Did anyone ever compare the old Magnum vs the Rl-p ?? I doubt the D2 has been compared. Just wondering if a pair of d2 15s w/ a 20.1 will pound on my pair of rl-p on ~1500. Ported :-D.

Deciding between a 15" SI Mag D2 and a 18" RE SX. Opinions on both would be greatly appreciated. WHich one has better SQ, SPL, which one gets louder, etc. And my other question is, is the 15" SI Mag reliable for a daily driven ride? Will it play for me at least a year without requiring me to recone or replace something? And is it still durable enough to take to competitions a couple weekends a year? And this will be going into a 2003 Ford Focus 2 Door Hatchback, so I'm pretty sure it will pound. And I'm sorry if this is a repost, I didn't see a search feature. I have got two Precision Power 10" Flat Piston subs at 400W rms each. Recommended box type? How about for a single 10"? They're going in a honda civic trunk.

Is this a good idea or no? I have a bandpass box for 2 12's and I just grabbed a couple W-6's Dual 6-Ohm subs and was wondering if anyone had some advice on whether or not to put them in this banpass box. There is a divider in the box so they will both have there own enclosure with 2 ports a piece. I have no idea if these subs can go or are even recommended for this type of box so I know someone on here knows or has tryed this. Anybody who has put W-6's in a Bandpass enclosure please let me know if it sounded ok or what. THanks ANY ADVICE? NEED HELP!!!!

I am looking at the DD 9500 series or the Death Penalty series by Incriminator Audio. If anyone knows of anything better for around the same price as these two then please post it here.

They are in the same box that I used for my kappa perfects. 5 cubes net, 70 square inches of port tuned to 28 hz. Total volume 7.3 cu. ft. I am running them at 300 RMS each from my KX650.4 (mid amp) LOUDNESS I've been without subs for probably 5-6 months. But since then I've had the pleasure of listening to ALOT of loud systems. 18 XXX, 15" Brahma Extreme, 15" MT are the most notable, as I spent the most time listening to them. That being said... as it is currently, I don't find this setup to be that loud. But it must be taken into consideration that I'm not running these anywher…

Im just curious if i get 1 15" mag what components should i look at? that would compliment the sub well.... what if i got 2 15"s? I have alpine coaxail and eclipse coaxails in right now.

Well guys (and gals)... Sorry for the not-so-punctual update. But I've been busy...busy marveling at this thing ... First of all I'd like to thank Mike for the amazing opportunity to demo such a great subwoofer. Now, to get things started... WOW. I opened the box, and that is all I said. This thing is massive, especially for a 12. Obviously, with quad stacked mags...and the gigantic motor...but pics do not do it justice. The clearance on this basket is a thing of glory...I mean view you get of the coil and top of the former...an the dual spiders is simply amazing. So I ordered a 15" mag I think a week n a half ago. I just haven't had time to get everything setup and what not. Over the last week, in my spare time, I have been building my 2.5 cu ft sealed box. Here are some of the pics: Thats it for now. Should be done tomorrow. Glueing the front baffle onto the box and the terminal cup. Then sealing and carpeting and installing tomorrow! Here is my old subs. Nice subs, just wanted a change.

If i bought a 15' mag right now would it be the prototypwe style or the old style? did the new ones come out yet is basicly what im asking, abnd if not when do they ship.... thanks
