  4. Hi, I'm new to this. I never made a box before, so I'm trying to figure out how to make a ported box. I plan to get a dcon, but want to make sure I have the know how of how to make a box before pulling the trigger. I want to put it in 1.25 cu ft, tuned to 32hz, getting 400watts. What port area (not volume) should I be shooting for? I read somewhere that 8-12 sq in per cubic foot is good, which would put me at 10-15 sq in of port area, but I wasn't sure, so I figured I'd ask people that have personal experience what they recommend for this particular sub. Thanks

  5. I spent some time on the net looking a different box design programs ,as I'm getting to build my first box ,and now more confused than ever. esp. with WinISD which many seem to use. There always seems to be a box or component of the software I don't know how to complete and so never seem to realize any ultimate box design. I'm leaning to making a sealed box ultimately, but am somewhat interested in a slot ported box if I can get the dimensions right that will fit in one side of the trunk of my car "95 Impala SS" and a programme that will let me configure those measurements. I did find a website with some ported box options, but something just didn't strike a cord right…

Obviously there is a difference between the... 1) X-15 2) Z V-3 15 3) Z V-4 15 I Know the difference in the V3 and V4 is the generation but i am wondering if anyone can give me any input on differences between how beefy the components are and the general differences between the 3. Maybe you guys can help me decide which one to get. Going to order 2 15's and they are going in the back of a 2008 Jeep Commander. Had 2 FI BTL's. How would 2 of these subs compare to the 2 BTL's i had?

My friend is looking for a new set of 6.5" mids. He is restricted to 2 3/8" mounting depth. Any suggestions for mids or component sets with this restriction? Price is pretty much no object (within reason).

Has anyone had experience with these? I have read that the scs line is the ones to get if any but was wondering what people have to say about the components in general. Will be most likely looking at the 5.25" comp set possibly a 6.5" set.

As the title states I am stuck between the 2. I have 1.0 cubic foot sealed per sub. power will come from an alpine mrp m1000 so 1000 watts at 2 ohms. I listen to mainly hard rock ie five finger death punch, metallica etc. I like my bass hard hitting but accurate. All this will go in a 2009 chevy silverado crew cab head unit is a pioneer avh p 4300 and alpine components up front. Both subs are virtually the same price i was hoping some of you may have had a chance to compare them and what your opinions are. Also as far as the ssd's go for those of you who have them what options do you believe are important especially as far as my setup goes. Thanks in advance-Dave

I have A/D/S 346cs Component set.... these are the 6-1/2 set (the most expensive one they have supposedly) I am looking to ditch the passive X-over and go all active... Question is power I want to get a Sundown Audio SAX-100.4 and go Bi amp on the components Rear channels midbass Front channels tweeters.. Does ANYONE know if EACH (the tweeters will see 100 watts each as the woofers will see their own 100 watts) these components handle this wattage ? The set handles a wattage of 120 watts BUT that is together as a set and i have no idea if it handles the same wattage by itself ? I know I know you are all probably saying why don't i contact the dealer... Well this is the be…

I wanted to get some input on components as I have had little luck with getting the goods. I have limited car audio dealerships near me and they all seem to deal about 6 manufacturers and not all that great. The best I hear around here tends to be the cheaper JL VR series. Thats not saying much I'm sure, so any suggestions for someone who cant ear them. I like them to be linear, meaning not bright in the highs and not flat in the mid bass region. And worst of all they have to be competent for my next attempt at an LSQ vehicle which will be most likely a trio of Fi SSD 15's powered by a SunDown Saz-3000D at 1.33 ohms ( I'm banking on 2250 - 2500 watts there.) I am expectin…

  19. Whats up peeps. Im in the market to upgrade my current system (well atleast the sub). Running a 15"FiQ, 3.5cuft 30hz, off a crossfire vr1000d. I love my sub SQ is great and hits suprisingly hard for an SQ sub, just that the output level just isnt cutting it anymore. Thought about adding another Q but space is somewhat an issue, dont want to cram dual 15's and not get the most out of them. So im looking for a replacement. I want to stick to a single sub setup. I know that i need a high power sub so these are my current options. (Adding anouther crossfire amp eventually) 1)Fi BTL 15" 2)RE XXX 04-05 models 15" 3)Audioque Hd3c 15" 4)Memphis Mojo 15" I know i will be losing S…

Just wondering is these 2 subs could handle an AQ3500 (older model 3500@1ohm)?? If so, what would be the optimum box for them to be ok with this power?

I apologize in advance - you are dealing with a noob. I think I want to do a sealed 15" in my new car, but I am having trouble deciding which way to go. I have been looking at the Fi Q and the SI Mag. Is the SI really worth the extra 200? Would you recommend anything else? Perhaps maybe even a 12" to go ported with? I am not looking to make major alterations to my electrical just yet either (read HO alt), so I'd like to keep the power handling in the 1000W range. I'm looking for a true LSQ system - I want it to be clean, but get LOUD when I want it. I have about 3 cubes to work with, maybe more if I want to give up some of that golf bag space in the trunk, but I'd like to…

  25. I have a RF T500-1bd and I want to try one of these pairs of 10s ported. My girlfriend bought my sealed dcon 12s off me for a great price! Please correct me if I'm wrong, the size of a ported enclosure determines how efficient it will be? I'm going to throw of one these in 1.5 cubes each chamber tuned to 33hz - 34hz. If you've had experience with either of these subs I'de love your input. Is anyone able to tell which of these would be louder? This is the last time I'm going to ask this, I'm either choosing one or the other due to which ever gets more votes.
