Just wanted to let those know who have not read the thread which I replied on that the Mag's are being built this Tuesday!! Packaging is going to take longer than actually building the drivers, so the official release date has yet to be posted. I will keep this forum updated though.

have you ever thought about offering the mj's in diffrent sizes. its an incredibly priced 18 but not everyone has room for and 18. i think they would be great budget subs. they have decent power handling and xmax so it would be a great alternative to the over-hyped type r.

I am looking to replace my 6.5" components that are in my front door. I currently have Boston acoustic pro60se and have blown my mid bass woofers due to way to much power (who would have guessed haha). I have the new T1000-4 amplifier and the birth sheet says 394 rms x 4 at all impedance. I'm looking for a set of components that can handle all of the power and sound really good doing it. I have been looking at the jbl 660gti because they claim they can take a max of 600rms per speaker/tweeter. I want to know if anyone has heard these speakers before. I also am curious about the morel hybrid ovation II because they also claim to handle 600rms max. Has anyone ever heard the…

is it true when you first install a sub and run it for the first time it's best you should not play it at full power for a while.the reason i ask this is because i was never told this by anyone before you had to do this and i wanted to make sure since i been playing my sub at full power for like 4 hours total since i had it and i can tell the sub is not real stiff after playing it for a while ?

Hey guys. I'm trying to piece together a 3-way active front stage in a friend's car and I need some help in selecting speakers for this application. The car is an '06 VW Passat if that is of help more than pictures of the A-pillars. Planned locations are A-pillars for midranges and tweeters and doors for midbass. Processing is going to be done by a car pc, all software, no limitations there. Power is going to be plenty, 100w@4 ohms for each midrange and each tweeter and 200w@8ohms for midbass. Odds are that the actual install is going to be done by me so atleast the doors will get a good treatment. The main goal for the install is to build a very good sounding front st…

I have the discontinued infinity reference three way six by nines. There's a +3db switch on the tweeter housing, are they normally attenuated, or how does that work? i was thinking about turning the switch on, and i wasn't sure if it may cause any damage? I have them powered by a 2010 Rockford P400-4. Their nominal impedance is 2.67 ohms so i would think their getting decent power.

Hey guys. I noticed the prices dropped a little bit on the new TC Sounds drivers. The LMS-R 12 is now $269. Anyone here have any experience with the newer TC drivers? I know the old ones were well praised. How would the lms-r compare to an Icon? I am just always curious and noticed the price and I just started thinking.

So I heard the MAW's were being discontinued. Any truth to this? And will this mean the MJ-18's too? I think an 18" that can fit in 4cuft ported is way to cool to discontinue.

ok I'm planning my next system right now. (last one got stolen) I'm thinkin 2 RE SR10's ported going under the back seat of my '02 Ext. cab silverado. Realizing there is almost no room back there I figure the best plan would be to build two different enclosures for each side. Doing so would give me about 0.88 ft.^3 per sub after sub displacement. But to make these vented I'm thinking could make external ports over the transmission hump. Does this seem like a bad idea?

just got Rockford Fosgate P1-1X12 its a ported enclosure made by the manufacturer, so i assume its decent enough of a port design for the subwoofer. i know ported makes it so its more difficult to hit fast notes. but i feel it really muddles the notes together and very little separation on fast bass notes. any way to improve this? i believe the gain is set to around 75% and the low pass filter is around 100 hz. the subwoofer is rated at 250 RMS. my amp is bridged and is rated at 300 RMS for the bridge. and the subwoofer is rated at 25-250 hz. would it be better to raise the hz on the low pass filter to around 150 or 200? or should 100 be fine? …

I was originally going to get the Sundown SA series but I saw the AQ's and was wondering if they sound good and get loud? Plz be detailed because I haven't heard ether in a setup. I know the sa's meter well for there price point, but I want 2 18's or 3 15's if sundown gets some d4's. They will be powered by a aq2200d.

Whew! What a wait. Good news is I received a call from my shipper this morning telling me she has a crap-load of boxes with my name on it. It will be a couple of days before they land in my hands. Those of you who signed up for the SPL-15 pre-order, please shoot me a PM so I can verify my records. Best, Mark

This is one HOT woofer! i like the cone cover heres the rear end: upside down: nice shot of the surround: RE8 comparison. If the 700 had the bumped backplate like in the proto pix, it would have easily been beefier than the RE8:

No, you did not read that incorrectly... it says 302. Today I built the final incarnation of the SI 302 crossover, Nick and I are both very happy with the result. The set uses a 7" poly-cone midrange driver (5 7/8" cut-out) and a textile dome tweeter. Some key features: - Designed for OFF-AXIS mid installation (door install) - Extremely strong midbass (50 - 63Hz X-over is no problem at all) - High power handling for an entry level set, rating pending * They are taking ALOT more abuse than my old XR set... I destroyed an XR mid in my car. Crossovers: 15-gauge inductors (massive) Low Tolerance Audio-Grade Resistors in Attenuation network Hand-picked combination of Metal Fil…

im keeping the door panels factory, but i think im going to throw a set of kicker SSMB8's (8" midbass) in the doors and 5.25's in the kicks, problem is, dont know what 5.25's to use (i was thinking boston pro5's) and secondly, will just those as a front stage keep up with 145+db? the other idea was to just IB a set of 8" subs. any input would be great! thanks

First time going active and need some help with aiming tweeters. My vehicle is a JDM '12 Subaru Forester XS. H/U is Alpine CDA-9887. I've got SSA Evil tweeters in my A-pillars (in swiveling metal pods) and SSA Evil 6.5 mids in the front and rear doors. They're all being ran off a SSA IC150.4. Tweeters are on CH 1/2 and mids (x4) are on CH 3/4. Where should the tweeters be pointed/aimed? I've read several articles but they all say something different (point at the driver, point at opposite headrests, aim between seats up at the headliner, etc). Is it just trial and error? Anyone with these tweeters or helped with a system with these have any advice? Thanks. Oh yeah, …

Sup everybody, I have a question here, has any body used the 12" Pioneer TS-SW124D shallow sub? Mounting depth is only 3 1/4" and they run 350 watts nominally / 1400 watts peak. $200.00 Suggested price. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/prod...7969819,00.html What about the Pioneer TS-SW1041D 10" shallow sub, it has a mounting depth of 2 7/8", and these run 350 watts continous / 1000 watts peak. $180.00 Suggested price. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/prod...7969808,00.html I'm also curious with the Earthquake SWS-10 (2 11/16" mounting depth, 400 watt peak, $299), SWS-12 (3" mounting depth, 600 watts peak, $399), and the SWS-15 (3 1/4" mounting depth, 800 wa…
