  1. ok so i have two oz audio ME 10.4's one of which just got its dustcap ruptured during a move. it's a nice sized crack that spans the diameter of the cap, but it's not a hole. i've tried numerous times to contact oz to get a replacement to no avail [and i've heard they don't offer replacements after the warranty period anyways] so i did two things. first i epoxied the crack yesterday. second i found someone with an ubranded RE SR dustcap that seems to be the same shape sans oz audio imprint. pic of RE SR for reference: so my question is whether either of these modifications to one sub will alter the combined sound of both subs. i know you're not supposed to mix speakers t…

Recently got my D7506 in. Pics are in the amp section if you want to peep them out. This is my question. I'm going top end for my system. I want this to be my last system for a while. I have been into car audio for 15 years and have had some pretty serious installs. I never competed in a competition. My goal this year is to take home at least 1 big ass trophy for a SQ system. I started off with this chit, Audiocontrol MVC, Audiocontrol 6XS (which I may not need with the Diamond - hence 3 seperate fully active butterworth x-over's on the D7506 alone) (2) Audiocontrol EQT's, the D7506, and the D7402. Sub will come later on. This is my question: I currently run a s…

I'm planning on installing two 15 inch Fi Qs in a sealed enclosure and I am looking for a good set of components for my front stage that will be able to "keep up" with the sub stage. Thanks in advance.

i was wondering can 18'' subs keep up with songs with fast notes and bass and be accurate like 15's? what i mean is not just rap songs with long drown out bass like booooom..booooom...(lol) but like some rock songs which are fast..so im just wondering if 18's will miss the beats?

I got curious and wanted too check out the ohm reading on my sub, so i just disconnected the speaker cable from my amp, then put the probes of my dmm on the the positive and negative cables. The dmm says its wired to 1.8-2.0 ohms. Is this normal? or by some mistake do i have a d4 ohm sub? I have a SS RL-p 18 d2, wired in parallel to my sundown saz1000d. thanks!

I want to purchase two 12's. I want them to have deep, loud bass. Given the right amount of power and a good enclosure which would sound better? 2 Fi SSD with a Flatwind coil, or 2 Gcon 12s

Hi guys, My Durango has 6.5's upfront with factory 1 inch tweets and 6.5''s in rear. My plan was to put new comp set up front and a midbass spkr, in rear, but after reading some peoples posts they say rear spkrs. won't be heard anyway. Is this true? If so instead of a 4 channel amp do I just run a 2 ch. and wire it to the spkrs and tweets or just the spkrs and run the tweets off the radio? Thanks for your help.

Hey guys, I just registered on the forum, it looks cool. I frequent some other car audio forums and I heard this place was cool so I decided to check it out. Anyways, on to the question: I currently run a DD 9515 on an American Bass 3000 watt amp. I'm thinking of switching to a more SQ based system (the DD sounds great but they are not the best at hitting the lows below 40 hz or so). So, I'm looking into maybe 2 Fi Q 15"s, but I want the new system to at least be as loud as my DD while gaining a little in the SQ department. The Qs would be run off the same amp getting 1500 each, and I would get their upgrade for power handling (forget what it's called). So whats your opin…

Well here's the story, I purchased this sub off my cousin who said that it was originally a RE 18 that he blew then he sent it to FI to be rebuilt with soft parts(not sure what this is). I then purchased a SAE 1200d to power it. Once I got everything installed I had no sound out of the sub, so I started troubleshooting the best of my abilities. I still couldn't get it workin so I took it to a audio shop who said he tested the system and it was the sub that was bad, he was unable to tell me why. I'm not sure what he did to test it so I hooked up a speaker I had layin around and it worked. After looking through some threads on here I found a topic on some things I can do t…

Hey guys need some help for a box for a Level 4 12". Im going to have 2 Lvl412's ported, giving them about 1200w each. On the DC site they recommend 1.5 cubes for Ported, and 2 cubes for SPL ported. I guess my first question is, is this measurement net or gross? Also, im kinda looking for a daily/spl setup, so would it be alright to go with 1.75 cubes per sub? And another thing i wasn't sure of, whats the recommended port tuning? for SPL or daily? Has anyone had a preference with these subs and has another recommendation? Thanks, Steven

im looking to change my setup. if i go the bl route, my box cuft will be 5-5.4cuft total including port area. if i go btl route, the box will be about the same total. they will be powered by a zx2500 which in the birth certificate says 2700 (if that matters) now i want to know which will be louder. this will be for daily use in my dodge charger. i currently have 2-15" L7's sealed in a 4.2cuft box and it pounds, but i just want to change it up. plus, i have a feeling that i can get louder than it if i go the FI route. thanx im also open to other suggestions.

  23. Hey guys first time post, but def. not new to the car audio thing. This is the first time I have used FI products and I was wondering if it is normal to smell just a little coil when the sub in new (mine has only like 1 week of use on it). Im pushing it with a Elemental Designs Nine.1 its underrated at 1200wrms @ 12.5 vdc no clipped signal I checked with the o scope at college im gettin a good clean 7.3 volts from the preouts. I want to push about 1500wrms to it but im gun shy with the coil thing...can she take more or should I just get one more to feed my 30htz @ 140db addiction??

Can a 150WRMS output from the AMP is enough to boost a 175WRMS Sub?.. Will it sound good?... what would you recommend if that is the scenario to improved performance of the sub or the amp considering that's gonna be the setup?.. thanks

ive got a 1991 Corolla SR5 (which is a 2 door car) it has a fairly small trunk but im sure its enough for 1 12 ported or 1 15 sealed... im planning on purchasing a new D2 soon and wasnt sure what i should get... ive been thinking and researching for 2 weeks and i know this is a GREAT sounding driver (heard a 12 sealed in a friends car) my only dilemma is can the 12 OR 15 take power from a us amps 1100T that puts out roughly 1100@ 12v? im not sure what the rms is at my running voltage (almost 14)
