  1. well I got a new job doing 12V at a local shop, Nick you know it, Freemans at the lake, so I am going to use that to get my install finished. I had a pretty cool idea for a trunk. Here's a side view of what I was thinking. It was done using Paint so its kinda crap, but this is a general side cutout of the design. The woofer will be mounted inverted towards the rear of the trunk and angled slightly (40 degrees or less) and the two MOnitor MK I 2.70 will be mounted towards the front of the enclosure flush with it. A trim panel will cover it so all you see if the monitor sign. On the sides I'll do the usual walls to hold my distro blocks, crossover, and other amps. Bu…

I'm just curious is all. Looking at these for my application they don't look back spec wise. $ wise is really good for me. I'm broke as a joke right now. Sealed box like .8ft^3 ish depending on where I buy the box. Could be .5 could be .65 could be .85. So this 10" wants .75 so im in the ballpark. I've just never heard of these. Tried the search and 0 results found. Gotta be an error. Are these as bad as the price reflects?

my coworker just got in some Xtants. they are 10" and he is running 150W off a JL 5 channel amp and they sound quite nice, clear, linear, and smooth. not as loud as i would like but quite musical. I am running my home computer sub in my truck off my Viper 2500.1D in my truck right now while i decide on new subs. it is far more musical and flat than my SP4 was and while - at the time - i wanted to have ultra low and super loud i feel i have experienced that and wish to build a much more musical system. the sub i have in my truck right now is this one, purchased when i was 16 and has been used for many years, it is in a 4.7 cubic box tuned to 35Hz and i want my new subs to…

Okay.... So this is another thread for me about my front stage... new ideas and different product.. I'm really liking the Image Dynamics (which can be found HERE)and the Morel Tempo 6 (which can be found HERE) ... Question now is... Which would have potential for more output(volume) and retain the quality... Doors are deadened and I may do more down the road so that shouldn't be a huge concern right now... Amplifier is currently a Boston Acoustics GT2-125 ... 125w @ 4ohms.... I usually listen to volume of 40-50 out 62 on my Pioneer HU ... Any more info needed let me know.... Help would be much appreciated.... My badd guys I forgot to change the topic title....

I was thinking about putting three 10" subs in my '91 Vette, so I posted an earlier thread asking for suggestions and a few people suggested that I run just one 12" sub instead. Personally, I think three 10's would fit nicely, sound better and get louder than just one 12, but I'd like to know what everyone else thinks about it. The maximum dimentions I have to work with are 34" x 12 1/2" x 18". Thanks for any input.

Three ethos or two sp4 on 7k watts 1.sp4 Higher quality 4"vc Larger enclosure 4th order friendly Can take a lot more than rms which man's room to upgrade amp(s) with no worries Ethos More cone area Lower price tag Doesn't require large enclosures

Hey guys, I have a dilemna. I have the room to fit any size sub, but i don't really know the pro and cons of each size. The amp is either going to be 1500d or a alpine 1000 watt. The 8 inch subs will either be rl-i 8's or RE 8's. The enclosure is going to be an infinite baffle downfiring kinda like this: *pic of shimajer on e46fanatics (hope he doesn't mind) Thanks.

I have a Morel Dotech Ovation 6 two way components installed. I also have a pair of Selenium 6 inch midwoofers in the garage. Now here is the trick part guys. When I heard the Seleniums at a local car audio shop on the board it sounded like a midrange and I have been told over and over and over and over again that Selenium is a midrange speaker. Now with that said I decided to call Morel in NY and talked to one of their people about the component set I have in my ride. When I was on the phone with Morel they told me this if I decided to go active. Morel mid 80 Hertz to 3200 Hertz @ 12 dB Octave low pass Tweeter 3200 Hertz and up @ 12 dB Octave high pass. He was tell…

I know this subject has been hit several times, I'm looking to do a three way front stage in my wife's altima. I was thinking of doing the Dynaudio Esotec 342 (yes I know that's pretty pricy). I like the configuration of the setup though. 7" woofer 3" midrange and (big) 1" tweet. This will not probably happen for a few months, but I'm doing some research now to know what I'm getting into. Is there anything else out there that may be in the same ball park as the Dynaudio or better for the price. I would greatly appreciate the advice from some of you expierianced SQ guys. Thanks. I will have more question soon.

Hey guys, Recently I have been really unhappy with my subwoofer. After my install of the HAT I haven't been using my sub. I have it all the way down on 0 just because it sounds so sloppy. My amp pushes 400 watts at 2 ohms. Give me a few suggestions on a good sub to blend with my hybrids... Edit: Oh and I'm gonna go sealed Thanks, Mike

Well guys after having a miss-hap with the old skewl kicker (kicker c-series) I decided to go with an eclipse Ti 12" and boy am I one happy person!!!!!! I can't believe how wonderful this thing sounds. I dropped it in the box my RE SE 12" was in (2^3 net) and I know I know it's probably not built to specs but man I just had to test this thing out!!! It sounds a lot better then the SE did with higher range freq probably around 63 and up where the SE lacked. Low end is pretty good too, I might test this sub out in a 1^3 box I got sittin around that's sealed. All n all I'm very happy with my purchase and just wanted to share it with you guys! = me

Currently have two RF T2D412 in 4 cube ported box in my 04 Dodge Durango. I am running them with two RF T1500bd-cp. Have extra battery and a 270a alt ran with all 1/0. The subs get loud and i have been served well by them. That being said they are not the most musical subs in the world and I have been eyeballing the XCONs for a long time now. Im going to sell the box and subs i have now and get new subs at tax time. So here is my question, are the XCONs my best bet with the power im running. At two ohms I SHOULD be around 1600w per sub. Also in that vehicle with that setup what size box should I build and how much port area is ideal? Would love input from anyone willing t…

Well, Im new here so why not annoy all the old timers with the question of what should I buy. The basics: 2006 Hyundai sonata - large trunk, around 16-17 cubes, partially deadened. I generally prefer sealed, although ported could work. I dont want to use more than 2 cubes, and preferably less. I am looking at quite a few different amps, but assume 600-1000 watts at a 2 ohm load. I would like to see 134 db. I am not dead set on any particular size, although I have considered two or three 10", or a pair of 12s, maybe a single 15. Would like to keep it under $250 usd for the sub. I have used elemental designs, alpine, kicker, and a couple other lesser brands but for various …

I've had an Fi BL 15" powered by a Sundown sae-1200d in my 08' Scion tc for a few months now. Simply getting tired of having the bass drown out everything else. I know absolutely nothing about component sets or midbass speakers really, im finding this to be more difficult to learn about than subs.. I have never even heard any components or good speakers in person actually so I dont know how to tell whats good and what isnt. Bascialy my main goal is to have the vocals be heard clear and not be drowned out at all, especially when i upgrade to a btl 15" soon. Also i dont know much about tweeters I just dont want them to be so loud that it hurts my ears or anything lol. Spe…

Alrighty, Sadly it looks like my Infinity Reference 5.5" speakers are dying. (guess it more sounds like that...). Anyways, my one speaker sounds fine.. but the other one is starting to sound quieter and not nearly as sharp and i think its time to switch it up a bit. What i was looking at were the Bravox CX50CF coaxial speakers or the CX50K components.. My first main question i guess is from the SSA store do these come in pairs? or are the speakers priced individually. Also iv heard good reviews from other Bravox speakers but i havent really found any reviews on these particular ones. Obviously im looking to stay in about the same SQ range as the Infinity's, …

Cost of drivers is going DOWN....considerably...I don't know about you, but how much cheaper can you make a Magnum (I love that name ) and still have its performance equivalent to that of a Brahma or XXX? I can see the smiles already.... Changes are being made to the 8 proto....Can't say what they are...most of which are physical changes, and not so much frequency capabilities... That's all I got for now.... Bring on the emails
