Subwoofers / Speakers

i have some kenwood 6989ie 6x9's 4-way and the tweeters on the speakers burned. my question is why are the tweeters burning? i am runnning this speakers on a koiiler 2 ch amp actully i am running 4 6x9's to this amp.two 6x9's to one channel and the other two 6x9's to the other channel.the amp is 800 watts peak. the speakers are 280 peak power,rated power 70 watts.impedance 4ohms. i would really appreciate some info. thanks

Just curious if anyone here has heard the Massive Audio SQX15 subwoofer yet? It is their part of their new line, and looks wicked. If so, would did u think of it?

I saw this post a while ago and there's something I've been wondering. I would say that I personally think the Xcon could take the Havoc ported. However, from what I understand the Havoc's get suprisingly loud sealed. How are the Xcons sealed? Comparing the AA Havoc 15 Vs. Xcon 15 sealed, either powered off a Sundown 1500 watt in 3 - 3.5 cubes sealed.

i was searching ebay looking at what was out there and came across these link lanzar is not a company i would normally even look at but these look like a solid daily pounder for cheap anyone have any exsperience with them

would this be plenty of power for 2 D2 12s. My Tantrum's birthsheet says it is 1507 watts. would that be sufficient for the two?

After trying to work out a place to fit my Mpyre 65Ms in my Tercel wagon, I realized it wasn't going to happen. I sold them and bought a new pair of Hertz Space 6 mids. The Hertz are 2" shallower 2" than the Mpyres, which will allow me to build some kick pods for them. Is anybody here running the Space 6 in kicks? How do they sound? The only constant in my system over the last year are my DLS R4 comps. I bought them last year for a steal. The 4"s are mounted in the stock under dash locations in the Toyota, with the tweeters in the outboard AC vents. as my sig says...i did run two 15" treo ss's off a single memphis 1000d in a dodge ram..... now i don't have the dodge..the memphis is sold and my treo's are sitting in the garage.... here is what i am wanting to do....two 15's, either 3000wrms or 4800wrms to the subs (depends on what amps i decide to go with), iggy altenator, 3 svr batts(one under hood, two for the sub amps) a 6.5 componet set and around 150 wrms for them.... now here is the reason for the post....... i am considering 2 15" memphis mojo max's...2 memphis 1500d's or mojo's...memphis sq componets and a memphis pr series amp for them(maybe a 4 channel so i can run a pair of m series 8's for mid bass..dunno)…

I recently have started the search for a crazy spl set-up . Along the way I stumbled upon these subs called SoundSplinter . Always being one to give anything a look , I decided to investigate . I was plesantly suprised at what I found . What seems to be a quality sub at an even better price . So that is why I came here . I am thinking of going with either 2 or 4 15's . well the guy with the 18" sundown v1 nightshade wants to trade. his sub, and now $75 for my alternator. so would anyone here be intrested in the sub if i get it? i will have it reconed with a stock coil and cone, or i can sell it as it is now with one ripped lead and u can have it reconed to whatever you want.

Hey, I'm currently running a Soundsplinter rli-8 (s4) driven by a Sundown 100.2. I just dropped in the Sundown last night (got it on the sale) and wow what a difference compared to the Rockford Fosgate 325.2 that I was running. Loud and culeeeen! Since this is just an 8, of course it has trouble going down low low with any real punch. Not a complaint, it's a freakin 8 and I can't believe what it is capable of. So I'd like to drop in a Soundplinter RLP D2 w/ a Sundown 1000D. Question: Will I be better off just letting the 12 do all the work, or could I get louder by running the 12 from say, 20-50Hz or so, and the 8" up to 80Hz or so? I'm not looking to get rid of the 8, …

i called american bass and they said to run it in a 1.25 cubic feet box with ported to like 37 hertz does that sound right to anyone ?

How does the RSD-216 woofer compare to others? Should I upgrade it or stick with it? I was happy with the sound it had when I had them installed in my accord. Money is an issue.

Just got my fi ssd 12 dual 2 with copper coil & bp power. was planning on going with a sealed box an pushing it with an audioque 1200 at 1 0hm. is this a good amp? would it be too many watts for 1 12" going in my f150 super cab. listen to everything but mostly rock. ported box mabey? any suggestions
