Subwoofers / Speakers

Going to build a small sealed box with a 12" sub powered with my Sundown SAE1200. More for sound quality than spl. Been looking at these two. SSA DCON 12 and Sundown SA-12. Will the DCON hold up when driven with 600w ? I think it's rated for 300. Anyone have experiance with either of these? It looks like the Icon 12 would be a better match for this amp, but it is priced a bit higher. Let me know your opinion.

my buddy is looking to get a new system. he is lookin at 2 15in kicker cvx and a kicker 06ZX1000.1 amp but im trying to tell him to get 2 BL's what type of amp should i tell him to get for that money?

Hey, I'm currently running a Soundsplinter rli-8 (s4) driven by a Sundown 100.2. I just dropped in the Sundown last night (got it on the sale) and wow what a difference compared to the Rockford Fosgate 325.2 that I was running. Loud and culeeeen! Since this is just an 8, of course it has trouble going down low low with any real punch. Not a complaint, it's a freakin 8 and I can't believe what it is capable of. So I'd like to drop in a Soundplinter RLP D2 w/ a Sundown 1000D. Question: Will I be better off just letting the 12 do all the work, or could I get louder by running the 12 from say, 20-50Hz or so, and the 8" up to 80Hz or so? I'm not looking to get rid of the 8, …

Im debating whether to send a kicker 1500zx back and get a Rockford Fostgate T20001 but would that overpower a BL FL at 2 ohms because from what I hear the Rockford Fostgate is way underrated on the cover, but in the box it shows 800w+ then the cover Would it be worth the trouble to send a kicker 1500zx back and spend $100 on this Rockford? Hello everyone, I'm curious about 12s that could work great in a mid sized ported box 1.5 cubes - 1.75 cubes each powered by a Sundown SAZ1500D. So far what caught my eyes is a pair of DC Level 3 12s or a pair of Sundown SA 12s.

I'm starting to plan out my next setup and am a little stuck on what to choose. To start off, which ever I choose will be walled at the B-pillars of my 03 Ford Expedition XLT. I will most likely tune to between 30Hz and 32Hz. I have 2 SAZ-3000's at the moment, but will pick some more up down the road. So I'm looking for your opinions on which subs to go with. 4 Incriminator DP 21"s 4 DC LVL 5 18"s 4 Fi BTL 18"s I am looking to get really loud and pound out the lows. I'm not too worried about sq as I don't drive too much, just be half way musical, NOT something strictly for burps. I know it's all good equipment, just looking for some opinions. Thanks

So ive decided on my new driver set being a seas CA18RNX 7" and the H1189 tweet (27TDFC). with the advice of ///m5, im going to run the CA18 full range and just do a crossover for the H1189 until i can finish my active setup. well after looking at madisound, i came across a prefab xover for the tweet and another driver. http://www.madisound.com/catalog/product_i...roducts_id=8232 not wanting to spend an extra 60 bucks on xovers that i wont use very long, i decided to make my own. so far on my list are the 4.7μF SA Range Polypropylene Capacitors, eagle 4 and 20 ohm resistors, and 0.4mH 20AWG Air Core Inductor. im pretty sure theres nothing else i need except a board…

I am dying to buy these lil' monsters , i have a large trunk (chrysler 300) and am wanting an optimal vented box for these bad boys, can a pro or guru chime in and offer any suggestions or tuning freq. suggestions,an box size, i plan on running probably a sundown 1000D amp @ 1 ohm mono so the 2 8's will split 1k rms, im looking for a box to really make these subs sing yet still play music, not just pure spl, thanks in advance

Have any of you guys heard them? How do they sound in terms of SQ or are they just geared towards getting loud? I read some reviews but they were from ppl that are running them. I wanted to get a larger unbias populations opinion. Thanks

The box will be between 4.6-5 ft^3 @ 30-33 hz, it will include 2-12" subwoofers (subs up, port in front) powered by a Sundown Saz-2000d. Big Three already done, battery upgrades coming soon and it will be going in the trunk of a Saturn Ion-2003. I currently have just 2 12" kicker comps that i bought at curcit city. I want... i NEED, more power and bass So now I'm deciding between 2 15" Kicker L7's or an 18" Fi BTL I'm looking for loudness! Can you tell me about these subs? I have made up my mind that i want to run 2000wrms, but I can't decide is whether on 2 15's or just one 18. I feel the two 15's will just be too much and the one 18 will do what I want it to. I want it to be at least semi-musical, but kill the lows. Nothing too loud, just something louder than my two type r 12's that we shoved in my friend's camaro (build log coming) This is a daily driver setup. Nothing extreme, just an enthusiast.

hey guys! Here's the dealio. I currently run an 18" BL tuned to 35Hz and am looking to upgrade. Its in a tiny tiny box, (maybe 5 cubes) and I know I need more space, but i cant make anymore in my trunk so I'm switchign it out! Here's what i have to work with. Sundown 1500D for my amp around 4.5 cubes, maybe upto 5 max if I need it biggest sub size i can fit in there is a 15" I don't really have a budget...maybe $400 max for the sub(s). Goals for this are to have a little bit more lower end output (will be tuning to around 32Hz for new box) What are some good sub reccomendations?? Which is better to run my p3 dual 4 ohm sub? With my rockford fosgate t400-4 I can wire my sub 2 or 8 ohm, Which would be better?

I saw on CL with a guy with only a dented in dust cap for $75. He said that's all that's wrong. It's a first version icon. I would love to have it. Can I get a new dust cap for it?

i was just wondering....i haven't thought about audio for a while but i got to thinking today....what's the best box for my application? Right now my Mag !2 us un a 1.9 tuned to 29 hz box...sounds great.....but it would be cool if i didn't take up so much space in my trunk....so i was thinking sealed....but the thing is i only got about 450 watts going to it from the rear channels of a RF 800.4....i figured the ported box was best but i was wondering with the power I have what ya'll have done. Hi guys, Question if you run one D1 subwoofer an one D2 sub on the same sub amp will one get more power to it ?

I just Ordered a pair Of Mach5 MAW-15's I hope they are as awesome as I have heard ppl say they are. All I need now is to save up and get the SAE-1000D. I'll be sure to post Build Logs as I get everything together. Cant Wait

would this be plenty of power for 2 D2 12s. My Tantrum's birthsheet says it is 1507 watts. would that be sufficient for the two?

So I was told not to open the back hatch\tailgate in my Tahoe while my subs are playing (in a ported enclosure)..Something about it bottoming them out? Is this true, and if so why do I see videos of people doing it to put paper or other items in front of their port?
