just got a 12'' lvl 4. gonna put in a 2cuft box after PD in a removable port box @ 32 and 36 hz. i had a 12'' re se in a 1.6cu ft box before. was pushing 700 rms to the re, will be pushing twice that to the lvl 4. u guys think there will be a huge/ noticeable difference in spl?

What is the recommended enclosure for the PBX XS15 with the 280oz magnet? What enclosure do these work best in? What sub would you compare these to?

Hello fellas, I just picked up a pair of Claw Magnums from Hoss. I've wanted to try these for a long time, and finally came across a pair that I could afford. My only question now is, what size of box is recommended for a pair of these subs? Also, if somebody could point me in the direction of about how much port area is optimal, that would be great also. I bought and installed a recone kit for a Soundsplinter RL-P18 (TC-9 motor). Things were going well, everything aligned properly, or so I thought. When the cone is depressed with equal pressure on it there is no scratching noise so the coil does appear to be misaligned. When running at low volumes (Low excursion) the sub sounds fairly decent, perhaps just a bit too distorted compared to the sub when i had originally bought it. The issues start when I begin to turn it up (300-500 watts). There seems to be a clipping noise of sorts and it becomes very distracting from the useful output of the sub. I cannot test the DCR because I have no working DMM but using a 9 V battery…

I was wondering if it would be possible to get one of the new BM baskets by itself? also would it acccept a quad coil cone (doesnt look like it so thought id ask) and if the answer to both of those are yes then can i get the specs on it (to see if it will even fit my application

As title says, anyone know for sure the displacement of the original 12" magnum d2's with the claw baskets. I'm designing a new box right now, and i need to know their displacement, thanx...need replies asap if any knows. peace NG

i need port dimesions for and icon 12 in a 2 cubic ft. box if you can tell me the rectangular port size and the circular port size for tunning to 34hz

Hey what's up I'm new here and I'm on here because I have been looking at these two sets of speakers for a few weeks now and I can't decide between the two. The first one is a pair of Focal 165A1s they look really nice and they sound great as far as I could tell in the local shop. I can get those for 300 from them. The other pair is a pair of Image Dynamics CTX 65cs I heard these briefly and they sounded ok and they are super loud I just can't decide if the difference is enough to warrant a 100 dollar price increase for for the Focals. Does anyone have any first hand experience with both of these sets. I'd have either set powered adequately with what ever amplifier I need…

i just got my hands on 2-12s, they were at the shop in the back just sitting there... so im going to grab one and build a few boxs (sealed and ported) and see what happens.... ill have a little review on it, plus of other POWERBASS subs....(most likely all there subs)... i should be finished all the test and post reviews but the end of october.... jamie

If i were to run 4 Level 3 15s, i have some competition questions about them. I do like that they have a 3" coil by the way Ok anyway, i plan on running a 3500d per PAIR of Level3s if i went with them. For daily, it wouldnt be that much, just for comp. Under heavy excursion- What will happen first- Bottom out or tinsel lead snapping? During music play, will there be tinsel lead slapping? Under heavy overpowering- When running a 3500d on a pair of Lvl3s, i know this may be hard to answer, but what should i expect if i run a 30sec average on music with these at that power level... and probably clipped if i still hadnt reached xmech yet... I'm tryin to find out just …

Those of you that are running HO alts, what do you have and where did you get them? I will be coming into a little bit of money in about a week and think I might get one. I have a 99 Alero with 110 amps stock alt. I have a PG t1200.1 and a PG t500.2 to run. I want to be sure they get all the juice they deserve. Looking for suggestions. I think I've narrowed my choices between these two and I'm wondering what the difference in sound is. I'll be using a Kicker SX1250.1 that has a birthsheet of 1420 watts for power. I'm not 100% decided on what type of box though, a sealed wouldn't be much bigger than the box I already have in there and I'm not sure I would have the space available for a ported box so at the moment I'm leaning more towards sealed of about 2.5-3 ft^3. Im looking for LSQ and more output than I'm getting from my 2 Infinity 12's on about 700 watts. Is one sub likely to get louder or sound much better than the other?

I am just lookin for anyone who has heard this sub and find out what they think about them? Friend is kinda gettin me lookin at them.

Hey guys whats up. I'm selling the Exploder and getting an Accord coupe. I want to do an IB setup...I'm moving away from the SPL deal. I am starting to crave more SQ. Possible drivers I was thinking about were: 1. single ED 19Ov.2 (already have) 2. two Exodus Audio TempestX 3. four ED 13Kv.2 (on sale right now) Not really sure about what else. I really want to do two 15 inch subs...I'm thinking it should get pretty low and have decent SPL. Also need some advice about midbass...I was thinking about making some 8" kickpods lol.

I just purchased an Fi BL 10in dual 2ohm sub from Fi. My amp is an Hifonics Brutus 1208 with 4 guage wiring. i hooked the sub up yesterday at a 1ohm load, turned the amp around a quarter of the way up and listened for a little while. It started having a cracking sound like the voice coil was cracking but it dosen't do it at low volumes just around half way up which isn't loud at all also my deck is stock at the moment. Please give me advice on what the problem might be dealer fault or mine.

I have 2 TC-1000 8" subs. 1 working fine. the other not responsive to power input. When pushed by hand, the cone still moves up and down. So just wondering if theres a build house somewhere that might be able to check it out and if possible fix or recone the sucker. any suggestions?

I have a pair of kenwood kfc-p709ps component speakers and need help with the cross over settings. The head unit i have is a eclipse cd5030 and the amp I am running the component speakers on is a jl audio 300/2v1.

I'll be running a pair of Z15's, I guess I listen to mostly rap, but I spend about half of my listening experience listening to virtually any other genre. Just looking for suggestions on what about I should tune the box to. I was thinking about 33hz, but now find myself second guessing as it comes closer to box building time. Thoughts/inputs/insults?

setup will be going in a 97 explorer ran off of a single american bass 500.1 @ 1 ohm...1250 watts per woofer. Objective....loud as chit, uncomfortable, cant breath, cant see, daily driving setup to demo at shows. Option A Sub up port back 10.62 cubes after all displacements 3 6" aeros @ 20 inches long each 30 hz tuning Option B Sub up port back 10.35 cubes after all displacements 4 6" aeros @ 20 inches long each 35 hz tuning I think option A will work very well but 30 hz tuning might miss a lot of songs apart from bass mekanik and the odd really low rap song. Any thoughts? thanks
