Recently got my D7506 in. Pics are in the amp section if you want to peep them out. This is my question. I'm going top end for my system. I want this to be my last system for a while. I have been into car audio for 15 years and have had some pretty serious installs. I never competed in a competition. My goal this year is to take home at least 1 big ass trophy for a SQ system. I started off with this chit, Audiocontrol MVC, Audiocontrol 6XS (which I may not need with the Diamond - hence 3 seperate fully active butterworth x-over's on the D7506 alone) (2) Audiocontrol EQT's, the D7506, and the D7402. Sub will come later on. This is my question: I currently run a s…

I remember reading that you can wire each voice coil of a sub to seperate channels of a two channel amp. Is there any advantage to this? Does an amp have an easier time running two channels at 2 Ohms than a bridged channel at 4Ohms? Would there be any sort of heat savings? Anything?

From my reasoning if you ran a dual 2ohm and dual 4 ohm subs in parallel of the same make and power handling it would give you a .75 load. Would there be something hindering me from dueing this as long as my amp can handle the load?

okay, i know a lot* of people are talking about Resonant Engineering nowadays and i could honestly say that i believe the praise that they get. however, i like being different and i always try to find that 'sleeper' brand. i wanted to know how these 2 subs compare. i'd like the most SPL possible without sacrificing much SQ. Hitting the lows hard is a must too. I plan on running 800watts one of these, ported. Anybody got experiences with both? Im kinna torn between these 2 subs and i need something to stand out from the other. any help is greatly appreciated. thankss

alright, i am currently putting together a system in my 99' Mits galant. I am planning on hooking up 2 15" rl-ps hookeed up to a hifonics bx2200d (1800-1900rms). They will be in a sealed enclosure recieving around 1.7 cubes each. They are reccomended up to 2.5 i belive and was wondering what kind of difference i should expect by giving them less air. Of course polyfil will be used to compensate this. I have plenty room in my trunk its just that the opening is so damn awkward i cant fit anymore then this. I was originally oging to get a 15"XXX in a snailshell but could not fit the box, then i was going to get a 12"xxx in a snailshell but said screw ported 2 15" sealed woul…

I'm very keen on buying the Rl-P from soundsplinter, i've heard all good thing about them, absolutely nothing bad. Recently my cousin purchase an idmax woofer, 12 inch one, it sounded awesome, the best sounding woofer i've ever heard. question is, how are the Rl-p compare to this IDmax woofer?? Are they comparable in SQ term?? Price wise, SS is defintely more attractive. So anyone with experience with those two drivers please feel free to post your comment. Thanks in advance.

First off let me say that I love the look of the old SI Magnum especially the Claw basket. The new SI D2 looks ok, but besides looks is there big differences in the models? The new one looks to have less cone area (maybe more similar to a 10" cone and a huge surround.) I'm sure there is a thread describing the newer driver, but how about a comparison? Advantages? Disadvantages? General differences? PS.. The 8"s never materialized .. any future plans for those, or 10"s?? The Hammer

before..... after.... well i had to send one of my 6.5's in to RE so i decided it would be a perfect time to mess w/ these. i had a couple of gouges where the screw driver had hit it. i also added about a 2" hole in the back of each one. i haven't got to here both of them together but from what i can tell, the one 6.5 has as much midbass as the both of them together...

OK... Currently I'm running a pair of PPI DCX 12, they've been good to me, I enjoy them, but they don't have a lot of excursion & it seams like they bottom out on me at times... Lately I've been thinking about getting a RE XXX, either a 12 or 15... What would you do?

Well it looks like the SI 15" is going to have some competition from the 16" OV2 as it finally came out. I guess we'll see which is supreme. Some of the comments from mags for the ED line: "the embodiment of what a great subwoofer should be" "the real deal" "defines how low frequency should be reproduced"

  25. Installed my Next FLS 6 6.5" shallow mount components today. I decided to install the FLS's rather than the "regular" ALS comps because I have a fetish for shallow-mount designs and seeing how they perform Only have about 30 minutes with them so far.....put them through some tracks I'm familiar with and tossed in my IASCA test disk for a few tracks. Installed them in my doors; mid ran infinite baffle, tweeter in the stock location about 6" down from the sail-panel. Powered through the passives off of two channels of my Coustic DR-514 (50w RMS per side). HU is an Eclipse 8053. Low end is taken care of by a 12" Rl-p. First impressions: Tonality is pretty darn good.…
