I was thinking about getting 2 15" D2's, with the sale and all, and just wondering if anyone knows if I'd be able to fit them in a 03 mustang without taking out the rear seats or MAJOR madding to the trunkspace (any cutting of metal). I was thinking of taking the floor off the trunk and moving the spare, and using that space to house them, anyone know for sure if this would work? I was considering just getting 12's, but I like the "wow" factor of the 15's . Any help would be greatly appreciated...

okay, so i got my XXX 15 in a couple days ago, i had it in there good running off my viper, 1 problem, is my SX moved more than my XXX does, so i thought maybe the XXX needs more power, or maybe it hasnt broken in yet, so i got my PA a3000db in, this adds in more problems, for some reason the amp isnt doing something right or i havent set the "extra complicated" 3 knobs, wow you match the gain which i did 1800 x 1 then square root it comes out to 42.4v, so i set it there, but it isnt as loud as the viper was hardly, its not really much louder if any, but the lowend is gone and for some reason i have more midbass now, so wtf, it used to hit some notes with my viper, but wi…

I was on sounddomain.com reading a thread on the XXX subwoofers and how people were building these snail shell boxes for them. They were saying how the sub got crazy loud and its the best ever. Has anyone here put their sub in a snail shell and listened to how it sounded? Anyone got plans so I can try this?

Does anyone know why ID never made one of these? Its seems stupid that they havent, seems like it could have been a good money maker if they would have done it years ago when they made the 10 and 12.

sorry just had to post how damn psyched I am now that the announcement has been made about the new driver sale. I knew it was coming any day now it had been too quiet around here. So now to just figure out 2 things: 1) how/where the hell I am pulling the cash out of my ass for new sub(s) after vacation next week. (hehe... it can be done) 2) do I stick with a single 15??? dual 12s??? or dual 15s???? but of course the whole point of this thread is... NEW SI SUBS ARE SOON TO BE HAD!!!

I have a 12 spoke SI D2 and right now it is running in a sealed enclosure and it is not suiting my needs. I was told if I ported it, it would be a whole other sub. Supposedly sound incredible. Just wondering if anyone could help me out with some box dimensions for a ported enclosure. THe best way to get ahold of me would be to email me at [email protected] Thanks Adam

I am looking to build a ported box for a pair of rl-i8s. The maximum trunk space I can give up is 37.5x16.5x8.5. Can I build a ported box this small and would these subwoofer be good for this setup? I am also considering useing 2 or 3 Crystal CMP8s. I am looking mostly for SQ but want those extra low tones a ported box can give. Thanks

I got the CDT's 62 comps and one of the woofers has some tinsel lead slap. I was going to put some small feltish sort of pads on there to prevent this. Do you think it would affect the woofer to the point where it would change the drivers ability to to play?

I have the Tweets and Mid-Range already. I was planning on using them with the 4x Vifa PLs I already have, but considering the Usher Mid-Bass a bit. Click on pictures for more information: Tweets Mid-Range Mid-Bass Any opinions? Crossover points/slopes suggestions? I think it might be kinda unique to tell people when they ask that my front stage is all "Usher Audio" and see the puzzled look. Although "Vifa" Mid-Bass would get the same look from most people I'm sure. The Hammer

I've been looking into the Infinity Reference 6000cs and the Polk db6500's. Anyone hear anything good or bad about either of these component sets? Any alternative suggestions for 6.5"-6.75" comps in the $200 range? Thanks, Ed

My buddy called me today and is coming over tomorrow and wants a 10 for under 100 bucks. Its late, 1"20 A.M., and I dont really have alot of time to look around, I was thinking a Kicker CompVR or a RE RE. Anyone else have anything else that fits the bill, cheaper the better. Probably is seeing no more than 150 watts, and has approx. .75cuft sealed box.

ever since installing my comps. The sub's performance has taken a drastic turn for the worse. I set the gains correctly (w/ dmm) givin it around 600w, increased the bass volume a lil on the HU. When everything was all said and done, the subwoofer did not get as loud (my ears dint get used to the sub my rear view mirror did not shake at all like it used to) , and the sub did not play as low as it used to before installing my components. i played daz dillenger's "my system" and on the reallly low parts, my sub didnt play anything!! I felt no rumbling like i used to. I checked all the crossovers, filters and everything, but they were fine. I swear... either i fix this or im…

I have a 99 mustang with a 12 D2. Right now it is in a prefab box that came out to 1.56 cubes before displacement. I am very happy with this setup but I think it could be better. I want increbible output with the best sound quality. Would it be advantagious to get a new box built even if I stayed sealed? I am worried that I box around 2.0 cf tuned to about 28 hz is going to be too big to fit in my tiny little mustang trunk. Should I stick with the box I have or would I benifit from a new box? Any thoughts or input is greatly appreciated. Thanks

I had planned on getting a caprice but I don't think that is gonna happen any more so I am stuck with my existing car, a 95 Acura Integra. So I plan on getting a new sub but only one. And I want to use my existing amp, a Viper 2500.1 (1500x1@4ohms or 2500x1@2ohms), well because I have it and I don't want it sitting collecting dust. So I am looking for a single sub that will hump like two and take massive amounts of power. And to make it even more difficult, one that will operate at one of the above ohmages. And I do not have a problem setting gains really really low to compensate for a woofer that can't take as much power as I have. New or old.
