Subwoofers / Speakers

So the new SQ hdx are out and just wondering who has played with the 12s, I’m contemplating getting them in the dual 1s and want to know what people think? Only person I know running them has a wall of the 15s and I run 2 12s so not quite the comparison

I have a problem with my mtx 12s everything is hooked up but when I press the gas the subs go off and i thought it was the fuse it was hooked to but i switched the fuse and it kept doing it so I took it off the fuse and left it off but I started driving home and the subs kept going off what could it be I need help

ok ive got a rf t10001bd that does 1633 watts rms at 1 oh and 1110 at 2 ohm. i also have a 2.5 cubic ft per side ported box tuned to 35-38 hz. the subs i have now are rf's t112d4. one of them blew for supposively no aparent reason at all so i replaced it. now the other one blew and yet again no reason. so i was thinking of switching brands. i have heard about the fi's, and just wondering what ones to really look at. i was thinkin the bl or the q series. im mostly spl but want it to sound good too. and if i do end up getting some, what ohm load should i get? and how would i wire them to 1ohm or above? has anyone had any experience with a LV3 12 dvc4? if so what results did you have? and what type of boxes do they work well in? i thinking of going 2 12's for next setup and are considering these. thanks for any information, Dustin.

I want to upgrade to 1 18 that will be louder than my 2 15's Memphis PR. I was looking at BL, BTL, AQ3, Mach IXL, or maybe even DD but I dont know the prices on those

So i have cdt comps in the front and i like them at this volume and i only have a 2 channel amp ($$). So...my boston rallys in the rear distort like crazy even when i only run them off the amp and i dont want to run them off the deck cause i like the imaging i got now i just dont like that i cant take the volume past 15 at the mid level i have at 200hz...perhaps its time to replace them? I want some coax that wont distort easy how are these cyrstal audio csx615?

im getting ready to slowly upgrade to a 3-way diy setup. i got midbass and tweets and i wanna make midbass in 2-way setup just the lows like 80-500 and then get a very nice midrange . partly becuase i wnana amke my kickpannels smaller and get a driver with nice off axis responce. my limit is around 50 per speaker and i want 4-5.5 inch through other forums ive limited down to these 2 but they arent helping me much decide which of these 2 i should get. so what is the difference between the fi ssd and fi q. i am looking for a good daily driver and heard good things about both subwoofers.

Okay so i got a new car and I dont have enough room for the maw-15's anymore. And from what I seen on the mach 5 website the ixl subs are susbstantialy more powerful than the maw series. I have a '06 pontiac g6 and I'm looking to get a pair of one of the ixl's. im looking to go as big as i can and get away with it in my given trunk space. The 10's look extremely good for the price and power. Would a pair of those out-do my maw-15's?

I need em as cheap as possible. any help out there?

OK so i am going to put a 18" btl in the rear deck of my 96 impala ss and was wondering how many 6" aero tube would enough for one 18". And how many for two 18" btl's i plan to put both in the rear deck and trying to see if i have enough area. any help would be great

I purchased an Audiocontrol Epic 160 in Dec. of 2003 to test the original D2 12's in my Jeep Grand Cherokee. It was incredible being able to put in heart pounding bass into what normally wouldn't have any bass. Anyway I had big SPL plans for the Jeep until the ride was officially not mine anymore. Sobim upgrading the headunit and all 4 speakers on the wifes silverado...my question is if i should buy the foam baffle or not? What is the point of it besides water protection? Also if the head unit says that the impendance range is 4-8ohms but the speakers i bought are 2 ohms will they fry? Or am i ok?

I'm thinking about trying to build a subwoofer with a Ti basket and a 3'' 400 oz motor but I don't know what would be the best voice coil for it

If I put a 6.5 rms 100 watts and a 3.5 at 45 watts on the same channel would the wattage add together or would I over power the the 3.5 trying to power the 6.5. The 3.5 are for location. And they are both 4 ohm loads.

can some one help im looking to get 2 15s i have a sundown 3000 im looking for sq but at the same time something that can take low notes more toward quality sound and dont wanna pay more then 350 a sub.

well i am going to build a couple of twelves here in the next couple of weeks, and i was trying to find a couple of threaded adapters that tc sounds used for these type of top plates. and of course i just can't find any, except for robot underground, but he wants 80 bucks a piece so i got with our in house machinist and made these up. they are designed to be a interference fit that way when mounted sideways they won't shift from the weight. the id is a couple hundredths smaller than the threads on the motors. i will have to make some 1/4-20 guide rods out of 3" bolts to align the adapters, because they will have to be heated with a propane torch to expand them first.

Whats up this is my first Post on SSAudio.com's forums. I have been lurking around for a little bit and am a regular poster on CA.com I just have a quick question... I just picked up a 12" Magnum D2 for a temporary system until the new mags come out (hopefully soon). I know the SI website says either 1.5 cubes @ 32 Hz, or 2.0 cubes @ 29 Hz. The 1.5 cubes seems kind of small but the 2.0 @ 29 Hz seems like too low of a tuning. I was wondering if I could do like 2.5 cubes @ 32Hz? What would you guys recommend? Thanks in advance!

Im planning on putting 4 mj 18's in the back of my dodge caravan, . im not looking for big numbers i just want some kick you the nuts kind of bass... the question is if i fire the subs down with maybe 3-6 inches of clearance from the floor of the van how bad would it be? also if i were to do that any suggestions on what way i should be facing the port? i want to fire them down so they are A) more hidden ( i live in a REALLY bad area) and B) i still need to use the back of the van... any help or input i would be greatful for

I'm buying 2 JBL GTO1502D (15") and I went on their website to see a box layout. But I don't really want to do that. Anyone have any ideas or sites maybe I could see a dual box layout. Someone told me I should do enclosed no vents, but I think I might need vents. A bit of help please? Either a site that shows me a build blueprint for dual 15" or a site I could buy dual enclosed box, cheap? regards, timinsk

i have the 08 hifonics brutus 2000 will it push 2 15" fi q's? i don't have any options on the subs...and yes i already have done the big 3 and have two batts!

Can a DC Lendl 3 15" take 900 rms daily with no problem?
