i am building a box for 2 a pair of level 4xl's and i was wondering would there be a big difference of i only did 12's instead of 15's?

So ive decided on my new driver set being a seas CA18RNX 7" and the H1189 tweet (27TDFC). with the advice of ///m5, im going to run the CA18 full range and just do a crossover for the H1189 until i can finish my active setup. well after looking at madisound, i came across a prefab xover for the tweet and another driver. http://www.madisound.com/catalog/product_i...roducts_id=8232 not wanting to spend an extra 60 bucks on xovers that i wont use very long, i decided to make my own. so far on my list are the 4.7μF SA Range Polypropylene Capacitors, eagle 4 and 20 ohm resistors, and 0.4mH 20AWG Air Core Inductor. im pretty sure theres nothing else i need except a board…

alright guys I have a dumb question. So I already have aftermarket speakers running off of an amp and my tweeters running off of the head unit. Just bought new mids all the way around...got the prv 6.5 4ohms and those ill just put right in after I get the old mids out. My question is about the tweeters. I also bought a rts-1 audiophile silk dome tweeter kit and need to know what to do. I'm going to take my old infinity tweeters out but don't know if I can use the existing wire going to my old tweeters. Please help!!

I ended up getting a clarion 785usb and i have been wanting to go active for a while. I need some help with drivers tho. I really like the Eminence alpha 6 mids and i was looking at selenium horns, but i think theyd be pretty hard to get into the doors. Could you guys reccomend a decent metal dome tweet with a relatively shallow mounting depth that gets pretty darn loud? I have about 50 watts at 4 ohm and 70 at 2 ohm to work with and i think the crossover point would be like 3khz with that mid? oh and budget would be like 25ish for an 8 ohm driver or 40-50ish for a 4 ohm driver.

So I've always noticed the impeadence/graph phases on most (good) subwoofer companies manuals, but I've never understood necessarily how they worked. Of course I know what impeadence and phase meant, but not too sure how it works on this graph (the frequency on the X axis, resistance on Y). To my understanding, it has to do with backpressure in the intended enclosure, so at the certain frequency where the resistance peaks that is where the backpressure in the enclosure its meant for peaks? And as for phase I guess thats just saying that 1 line is at 0 degrees and the other is at 180? But thats my guess whether its right or wrong the factor of backpressure? I've been getti…

Hi all, I have a BTL n2 12" actually, and I love it. but I want more now ! I was thinking of reconing it to a 15" sub. Can you tell me what I need to buy from Fi, of course ? Recone kit, basket ? Is it hard to do ? Can I find a tutorial here or elsewhere (I'll try Google !). I won't do it myself as I am not very familiar with speaker recones and tools, and ...anything !!! a friend of mine will do it, but I want to know some things before. I already have a design for a good box. It must be around 3-3.5 ft3 net @ 32 Hz ! Thanks in advance for your help.

My son is looking at buying a DCON-12 S4 for his car. He will have a Alpine MRP-M500 pushing the DCON. We want to build a ported box for the DCON. SSA says optimal ported box is 2.25 cu.ft tuned to 28-33 hz. I tried downloading the box design from SSA. I can get the google sketch picture, but not the other file. Can someone help me with the box dimensions?

ok so me and my dad went to an audio store and asked for some subs at a good price they showed us the 12" rockford fosgate punch p3's and he said 275 for two of them so we went to a different one and asked what would sound good in a truck he said 2 10" kicker cvr's what would you buy for subs???? and the amps for the p3's would be a fosgate 1500 watt amp and an amp for the cvr's would be a 500 watt

Hey guys, yes, what's minimum port area i can use for 4x RE SX 12" in 8ft^3 tuned at 33hz that will sound good? I'm trying to decide between a pair of 12s for sealed operation. As most of you know I had an Icon 15. My girlfriend just got a new Nissan Murano and I gave it to her to start her system with. The 15 was just taking up too much space in my trunk not to mention I've been missing having a sealed setup. I have always favored sealed setups with a pair of 12s and need help deciding between these pairs. just got a 12'' lvl 4. gonna put in a 2cuft box after PD in a removable port box @ 32 and 36 hz. i had a 12'' re se in a 1.6cu ft box before. was pushing 700 rms to the re, will be pushing twice that to the lvl 4. u guys think there will be a huge/ noticeable difference in spl?

So ive been convinced by a third party to swap my fosgate amps for some audison amps and im wondering if i should still go all active up front. Currently deciding between an 18" Bl or an 18" RL-P.. I am basically looking for just a loud daily driver that will pound the lows. I have 1500 watts on hand to power them.. What could I expect from each sub, and how do they compare?

I've got two Havoc 15's for my extended cab ford ranger. I want to build a box for them but I'm debating between ported and sealed. I know ported can sound good, but there are certain advantages a sealed box will always have. (such as transients) I listen to primarily rock music. I have about 8cu ft available, and two 15s. How should I go about designing or choosing a box?

after i sealed it up with silicone the first time the weird noise stopped but there is a noise thats back again. at higher volumes my low bass drops off severely and it makes this crazy noise. im so confused..

I am trying to remove the factory speakers from the back deck of the G6 but I am Not sure how to remove them. The Speaker grills dont seem to pop off. There are some clips in the trunk around each speaker but when I undo those, all it does is loosen the entire back deck Any Idea on how to change? Also I have 6x8's from my old car I would like to put in. But the factory size is 6x9? Will it still work out Fitting the 6x8's in? Thanks in advance ~MadroX

Is it true, that it's not good the tune a box lower than the subs Fs? I always thought that you can tune a box lower than the Sub Fs, what's true about this and what happen if you tune it lower than a subs Fs? anyways, thanks.

ok so ive had my comps in for about a week now and today i just now noticed that there are holes in the door from the stock speakers.Would that be messing with my sound quality at all cause there are like 4 holes around each mid????

Anyone mess with the CDT mid tweets? Can't remember the model numbers. The concept and size sounds cool, but I'm wondering what the DIY realm thinks of it.
