I recently have started the search for a crazy spl set-up . Along the way I stumbled upon these subs called SoundSplinter . Always being one to give anything a look , I decided to investigate . I was plesantly suprised at what I found . What seems to be a quality sub at an even better price . So that is why I came here . I am thinking of going with either 2 or 4 15's . I will be powering them with a Directed 2400D . I am most interested in the RL-p 15's . Does anyone know if my 2400D would run 4 of these monsters . I am currently running two MTX 9500 15's in my Focus ZX3 . I am looking to use this as my daily driving set-up . Since this system is stupid loud as it is , I …

Whats going on guys? Building a new box for my 2 12" L5's and i'm curious about the tuning i should go with. I will have a removable port in the center. The main port will be for SPL. What would be the optimal SPL tuning frequency for a Grand Prix? The box is in the trunk facing the back of the car. I was going to just go with 40hz, but thought i'd get some input from you guys. I have no idea what the resonant frequency of my car would be... maybe someone can venture a close guess. The port that will slide in is for SQ to change the tuning to around 29-30hz Thanks guys!

Well its official. For X-mas I am asking mommy and daddy to buy me another Hifonics 1500 amp and SI D2 15. I already have 1 of each right now but want to upgrade. I plan on giving each sub 4 cu/ft and port each to say 34 hertz? (Wanna score high in comps as well as keep it clean for a daily driver) The whole trunk is going to be a box, the subs will fire towards the rear with the 3 amps (2 sub amps and hifonics 2 chan) mounted ontop the box in a "suspended" setup. (Pole holding up a slab of plexi glass and the amps mounted on the glass). ok. right now i currently have 2 12 inch PG xs series subs that hit pretty hard. but, i want MORE. in feb-march, im thinking im gonna re-do the sub part of my system, so im looking for suggestions as to what brands i should look at. i do want to compete, but, correct me if im wrong, but if you have 15 inchers your in a different class right? i would want to stick with eather 2 or 4 12's, or possibly 2 15's if i can get some killer LSQ/spl from them. these subs would be daily drivers, but not turned all the way up. thanks for all the replys!

Thats right, my 15" SID2 does not have a logo, but fear not I bought it legit from Nick. I really wish it had a logo on it tho and all the stickers I get done from the local sticker shop sucks real bad. Is there any way I can ship the sub back to SI and get a logo put on the basket?

For those of you that have owned both pair OR heard both pair in a similar environment please comment on which you prefer and why? I am in the market for a nice set for components, and I am being torn between several sets. A new set just came up... Seas. I had never heard of them before, and someone told me they are the best sounding speaker for the money. So i'm in college now and i'm meeting new people that like car audio stuff. But they have Legacy and pyramid and things of that such, but their system is loud. I am going to have to attribute it to the car being small. One is a camry with 2 sony explodes and a powerbass basstube(from wallmart) hooked up to a kenwood amp. It beats pretty decent for the money he wpent on it, but i'm gonna say its a small car. Next is a chevy nova, again not as small as a camry, but not big either, so he has 2 mtx's whatever kind and a legacy amp. So he has better subs, but a crappy amp and i can barely sit in the back seat and it sounds like the trunk is about to come off. It makes no sinc…

Hello guys, first thread on here Was just wondering, how do you think a D2 will take 2500wrms, on a daily BASSis, i.e streetbass, daily listening, i can't see it being a problem just playing music nicely, but what about when i crank it ? The whole system will be scoped, so it will be getting a purely clean signal, will be ported, about 4cuft, then port displacement, so say even 3 cuft ? I have seen this thing take 1700wrm quite nicely, but what about over quite a period of time ? i mean i know how to treat a sub, i know how they work and how to set a system up. So what you recon ? Go for it ? Also, can they be reconed ? or will i have to buy a new one ? Thanks in advance…

Hi everyone. I currently have two 12 mags in a sealed box, but I wanted to try ported just for fun. My friend is selling a 3.6 cf box tuned to 30 hz without any chambers for cheap. IS this bad for a pair of magnums, or does it sound reasonable? I know that the only way to find out is to actually hook it up and listen to it, but I just want some opinions before I actually buy the box. It was originally made for a pair of JL audio subs by Tweeter. Thanks guys.

i hear this thing has great sq... but i'm cuious of its spl also. i'm deciding on new subs now... i'm looking at the magnums, sx or se. i'm trying to save a little money. also... they aren't going for competiton or anything. i'm hoping to spend less than 900 on subs and amps... hoping. but sq is important to me... i'm stepping up from 2 12w3 i want to keep the sq.. but add alot more loud sticking with 12 inch... i'm hopefully getting a 97-99 gsx in spring... and i don't believe the trunk will be big enough for a 15... i'd like to go 2 12s just because i like the look of 2 i'm hearing that one xxx or brahma would be just as good as 2 se. any input... i'm open to suggesti…

i'm looking for a new amp for my 12" magnum about 1200 wrms @1 ohm and wanted to hear your guys suggestions. i have a stock electrical system so i want something that makes rated power at like 13 volts instead of 14.5 volts and doesn't strain my electrical system. the most i want to spend is like $350. an amp i have in mind is the elemental designs nine.1, but i'm leary with what i have been hearing about ED. i also have been considering the cadence z1200. i know it's asking a lot but please help me choose. thanks
