Subwoofers / Speakers

Hey guys, I was wondering which one of these two subs would be better for me. It's either the 18" Xcon or the 18" Nightshade. Only $50 difference between the two right now. I'm going to get two. Probably get powered from a saz-3500d. If no deal on another amp comes around. Main goal is to do hair tricks and shake other vehicles at comps. Thanks.

The 15s are AUDIOBHAN FLAME EXCURSION SERIES and are 650rms singal 4ohm. Trying to cum up with a box to put in the back of a mini van, there site dose not have the rec. air space, so im guessing around 4 (ft3) for the both of them with a tuning of say 35 ish for her day to day driver. This is not for me, a manager at my work place requested me to do this job for her. YAA or NAA

I was just curious what physical attributes you guys look for in a speaker. I know the best thing to do is listen to it, but if your not able to at the moment, what are things you can look for that indicate whether it's a quality driver, or crappy driver? Any links to sites or threads would be appreciated.

I'm thinking about either purchasing 2 12" SSA Gcons, or 1 15" Fi Bl fully loaded, I want deep loud bass, whichever I choose will be going in an s10 extended cab, which should I go with, either will be in a ported enclosure. Thanks.

Is there a way to check how DVC sub is wired without taking it out of the box by using a dmm? I would assume to just check the + and - coming out of the box (theres only 2 terminals in the back). And see what the ohms read. Am i correct or no.

i am having someproblems finding a mounting position for my tweeters. If i made a box for them and mounted them on the floor but level with the bottom of seat will they sound bad? they will not be obstructed and they will have plenty of room to play. i am concerned with having a complete full sound. i want my music to blend well with my subs. they are oing in a lincoln towncar.

Does anyone know if boston acoustic pro 60's are too deep to fit in kick panels in a large suv? What do you think about kick panels verses stock door speakers.

if i have my system at 1 ohm, and my rise is 5 ohm and up, does that mean that i could run 1/4 ohm setup? and how much ohm rise is efected by voice coil heat?

I just ordered my 12" Level3 sub. Im anxious to start building the enclosure and wanted to know if anyone knew the outer diameter of the sub. I want the sub recessed against the enclosure. Thanks!!!

Obviously there is a difference between the... 1) X-15 2) Z V-3 15 3) Z V-4 15 I Know the difference in the V3 and V4 is the generation but i am wondering if anyone can give me any input on differences between how beefy the components are and the general differences between the 3. Maybe you guys can help me decide which one to get. Going to order 2 15's and they are going in the back of a 2008 Jeep Commander. Had 2 FI BTL's. How would 2 of these subs compare to the 2 BTL's i had?

About the Pioneer Premier REV series speakers? I had four coax 6x9"s on 75 rms each, and loved them. I am thinking about getting more. plus the 6 1/2" components to run active. They are cheap to at only $100ish Thoughts?

I remember reading that you can wire each voice coil of a sub to seperate channels of a two channel amp. Is there any advantage to this? Does an amp have an easier time running two channels at 2 Ohms than a bridged channel at 4Ohms? Would there be any sort of heat savings? Anything?

I was wondering if I can send my Adire Brahma MkIII to be fixed other than Adire themselves. I got it a while back from Low-Hz, and it got shipped blown (once I opened the smashed shipping box, I pushed in the cone and it was stiff and made scratching noises) I ended up with a Mag D2, but I still have the Brahma and I want it fixed. I'm having trouble finding info on this particular sub. I have searched a bunch of forums and tried Googling, also. I'm not real sure weather it is a tc9 or tc7 based sub; and knowing the many variants of those models left me skeptical of considering an appropriate sized enclosure based on another sub. I originally figured this is a TC9 variant, so I've been planning a ballpark figure of 1.5-2 cubes net ported to 28-30hz, using a 4-5" pvc port . I'm looking for a flat response, with as much extension as I could get. I'm mounting mli-65's up front as dedicated midbass drivers; and plan on them mating up with the sub in the 60hz area. Well I am currently laid off work so I told my wife I would add some bump to her ride. Seemed easy enough at the time. Then I started shopping around, and now I am losing my mind. I have installed a new pair of Havoc 15" subwoofers in my truck, powered by two SAE-1000D amps bridged and notice a distinct lack of dynamic range, or ability to hit "peaks". It's almost as if it's built to play test tones, only. As soon as I play rock music at relatively high volumes, the fast bass notes and kicks clip and distort. It's not very loud, but I turn the gains down till it no longer clips, as any good car audio enthusiast would. Now it's quieter than quiet, and it just barely wants to clip if a loud enough drum comes along. Now if I play a bass mekanik CD I rattle store windows and do mini-hair-tricks at 20Hz. For subs right now I plan on walling my suv to the front seats and am putting in 4 18" Xcons. I want my front stage to play as loud as possible without breaking my budget of 5-600 dollars. my buddy want's to trade me a used 08 kicker l7 15" for a hifonics 08 bruts 2000 it says it does 2000 rms on the internet. so is this true or does it max out around 2000 watts? and if it had the right install, extra batteries,HO alternator, and 0 guage!!.....had to throw that in there cause i know that would be what makes a difference.

So I have purchased Gcon from tirefyr while I am awaiting to get all my parts together for my other build. My question about my Gcon. It will be sealed at 1.5 cuft after displacement. I was planning to put the sub in the center of the 30 in wide enclosure. Would there be any benefit to offsetting the sub one way or the other? or am I just over thinking this.
