Hey all.Im wanting to get some new subs and im wondering which way to go.I know this has been asked thousands of time but im wondering should I get a Pair of 12" Xcons or a single 15" Zcon?I have a 2001 Mitsubishi Galant and the subs would go in my trunk.Im kinda wanting to go with the single 15" Zcon but I want to be as loud as I can get.The zcon would save me some cash but would it be as loud as the xcons?I have a planet audio bb2 2400watt RMS amp right now and I plan on getting a second and strapping them in the very near future. So with this in mind what would you guys recommend?Oh and how many cubic feet should a box for a single 15" zcon be?I seen what the xcon recom…

So, i've been a dj for about 15 years and i've never had a decent soundsystem in my car, i guess because of all the money i've spent on cds and records. finally, i have the expendable money to throw at a little sub and speaker combo, but i'm going to start with the sub. Anyway, I have an Alpine CDA-9856 in an 03 Acura 3.2 tl type S, I'm not going to compete with this soundsystem, so i was wondering what the recommendations would be for a 10'' sub, and amp for around 500$. COuld my budget be lower for similar performance. Since i have worked a long time with audio equipment, i know that often times 500$ is right at the high level of lower end stuff, thats why i chose th…

i am having someproblems finding a mounting position for my tweeters. If i made a box for them and mounted them on the floor but level with the bottom of seat will they sound bad? they will not be obstructed and they will have plenty of room to play. i am concerned with having a complete full sound. i want my music to blend well with my subs. they are oing in a lincoln towncar.

Do I need two terminal cups for a DVC sub? Thanks Well, I might as well ask my other questions while I'm thinking about them. If I'm wiring a DVC in parallel, how do I connect the two terminals? Can I just twist the two wires together and run that end into one terminal, then the other end into the second terminal? And on that same subject, is it good/bad/ugly/no different to twist both ends of the speaker cable wires together, to make a bigger wire for each terminal? Hope that made sense.

hope to get some inputs for the sub. it could be a 12" or 15". car to be designed on is a 96 accord. target is to be able to play loud but accurate. meaning it can play rap, techno/trans, soft/ballads, rock etc., still with good readings from termlab... possiblly dbdrag style yet as accurate sounding as possible. requirements: 1. box is no bigger that 3.5 cubes - so that spare tire would be accessible 2. box design can only be a wedge 2 enclosure type box - to maximize all space and still get the spare tire 3. sub would be placed facing the cabin, possibly on the back seat position for a single sub, but towards the trunk for a dual sub or all towards the trunk. depends on…

I remember reading that you can wire each voice coil of a sub to seperate channels of a two channel amp. Is there any advantage to this? Does an amp have an easier time running two channels at 2 Ohms than a bridged channel at 4Ohms? Would there be any sort of heat savings? Anything?

Due to certain events in my life the build with the Chrysler 300 is getting put off, but I still want to have a little more bass in the bronco in the mean time. The only thing I have left to buy for the build in the 300 is two more pm1s, 1 more crescendo 3500, and the wardens. I had plans to sell the Sp4 18 I currently have, and buy one of the Warden 21s. So I bought one of the warden 21 yesterday, but I am having second thoughts considering the warden is more geared towards higher frequencies that what I am used to. Also due to the fact there are no specs posted, and no one really knows anything too helpful about the new wardens. I haven't sold the SP4 yet because there…

I came across this box and it says its only 3 cubic feet. This does not seem correct. The recommendation for the sub is anywhere from 2.8-4 cubic feet. box link http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?sk...d=1218009774927 also...if i buy an amp like this...http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9027206&type=product&id=1218009770462 will i get good performance out of this sub because the brand name is like unheard of lol Thanks.

I have installed a new pair of Havoc 15" subwoofers in my truck, powered by two SAE-1000D amps bridged and notice a distinct lack of dynamic range, or ability to hit "peaks". It's almost as if it's built to play test tones, only. As soon as I play rock music at relatively high volumes, the fast bass notes and kicks clip and distort. It's not very loud, but I turn the gains down till it no longer clips, as any good car audio enthusiast would. Now it's quieter than quiet, and it just barely wants to clip if a loud enough drum comes along. Now if I play a bass mekanik CD I rattle store windows and do mini-hair-tricks at 20Hz. No clipping, sounds good. Switch to rap or …

I have heard that the newer xxx's seem to perform well in small sealed boxes, but am looking for some one with experience. I'm really into low end and sq. I currently have a 4 cube box tuned to 36hz w/ 3 4" aero ports that is doing well, but the sq end is not all there. The vehicle is a 1999 toyota camry. thanks for any help!

I have A/D/S 346cs Component set.... these are the 6-1/2 set (the most expensive one they have supposedly) I am looking to ditch the passive X-over and go all active... Question is power I want to get a Sundown Audio SAX-100.4 and go Bi amp on the components Rear channels midbass Front channels tweeters.. Does ANYONE know if EACH (the tweeters will see 100 watts each as the woofers will see their own 100 watts) these components handle this wattage ? The set handles a wattage of 120 watts BUT that is together as a set and i have no idea if it handles the same wattage by itself ? I know I know you are all probably saying why don't i contact the dealer... Well this is the be…

Once I took my speaker out of the box I noticed some...issues.... Overall the speaker looks to be in pretty good shape except for one thing - the pad has come off between the cone and the tinsel lead / spider. On top of that, it looks like the tinsel lead came unstitched from the spider. I don't think this will be a huge issue but if there's a way to fix it I would like to try so I don't get tinsel slap (I think I was getting that before). Well here are my basic questions - - - - What kind of glue should I use to attach the pad back to the cone? I was told the glue "goop" should do the trick but if I don't have to run to the store I don't want to. Would just plain old sup…
